Got a little break from the rain for the commute to LAX. I thought it was going to be a lot worse.

If anyone is watching Hawaii has been raining for the last couple of weeks. It is cold and wet. Had to use the heated seats and steering wheel this morning at 4:30am

Two more feet of snow last night in Arrowhead. And the county dude just plowed the street (partially) yesterday.

At least today is the last of it until next week. Supposed to get sunny and warmer, maybe help a little melting.

This is sounding like one winter at the old Lakeside Trailer Park (Blue Jay Bay) back in the early 60's. Dad and I went up to clear the snow load off the trailer roof.
Could damn near step from snow level on the patio to the roof and back down --- crazy amount of snow. That summer we were able to move our dock back up the creek to our space which was about two down from the little walking bridge (Not the concrete one closer to the main bay). So cool to stand on that bridge and watch the trout spawn.
Of course other years we had the docks moved clear past the concrete bridge into the large bay.

As a teen in the 60's I loved hiking in the snow at night from the trailer up to the old Blue Jay Ice Rink and back home at closing --- although honestly, alone in all that silence, darkness and snow, mind would play tricks and it got damned spooky some nights. 😳 I wasn't afraid of ghosts, just big-ass kitties and there were still bears that hung at the dump at night.

Can't wait to see the weekly update to the drought map later this week. 99%+ of CA is still in drought and its down from 100% a couple months ago

I'm looking at this from Monday and thinking my God they're in the middle of another massive dump today. Likely to be historic.:(😟
I couldn't figure out how he got some of that video footage.... was he in a tractor filming at some stages or just flying drone really close to ground. No idea.... he couldn't have been driving a normal vehicle thats for sure.

Anyone recall that odd 3 day period of unusual southerly winds in Havasu? A precursor?

A little update from my end in Running Springs today.
Last night around 1am I was able to shovel a little bit of snow away from my back door so the dog could go piss/shit. Woke up this morning with 2' of white shit up against the door and am not able to open it unless I want a shit load of snow in the kitchen.
Then I realized that the heater was blowing cold air and just running the fan. NOT GOOD NEWS!!! 😳. Figured out pretty quickly that the direct vent was completely buried and had to figure out how to get to it.

Out of curiosity, I attempted to check some of the current CA lake levels. It’s like trying to make your way thru a liberal word and number salad. As near as I could tell, Naci is currently only 86% full, but levels are at the spillway. While, nearby San Antonio is only at 40%. WTF??!! If the San Bernardino lakes - Green Valley, Big Bear, Arrowhead, Gregory and Silverwood aren’t established as full after this season of major snow and rain, then some heads of the various highly paid water management district individuals and politicians need to roll.

Arrowhead is full. It was full prior to this recent blizzard. I really dont know where this snow is going to go besides out the spillways here. Maybe some of it will top off the lake as the last of it melts? If Arrowhead was still 3.5' down like it was prior to the winter rains (not the recent snow), the recent snow probably would have done it on its own.

Easy way to check Arrowhead.

Lake Gregory was also full prior to the recent snow.

Big Bear I heard was not full, but the resorts have free rein on pulling water to make snow. I'll bet that's over now and when this snow melts that lake will be over full.

Silverwood, no idea, but water runs downhill and there's a boat load of white frozen water up here waiting for its chance.

I'd say its a safe bet that any lake that gets snow runoff will be full this spring. If you look at Naci they were releasing a bunch while San Antonio just doesn't have that big of a watershed. Big bear was only up a couple feet which is perplexing but snow melt is coming. Also if you look on the CA reservoir page. Trinity Lake is not going up and Berryessa still well below normal and it gets no snow melt. I'm waiting for this weeks drought map to be updated that is where I think it gets political and the agency in charge just makes up their own rules state is still 99% in a drought lol

Weight of the snow is settling in and starting to take its toll. I waited up until about 1030 Wednesday night and the map was clear. So these popped up over the course of 4 hours.

we were coming back into Kingman yesterday about 12:30 and began noticing all the W/B vehicles had snow and ice all over them. Then it started to be evident on the ground just past the wind farm. Then it started snowing lightly and wifey was glad to see snow once again!

then the snow fell hard, closed one lane (cause dam 2wd vehicles can't manage 6" of snow) and finally just a mile or two before the 68 cutoff - STOPPED! For 5 1/2 hours we hung out due to two rigs crashing ahead and heavy snow. Here i am in my JKUR that could have easily navigated the road, but NOOOOOOO, Wasted 1/4 tank keeping the engine on..
