That is not a good business decision IMO.

Initial deposit holders should have first option on those cars that they have in stock (unless deposit holders vehicle has been built and shipped). Deposit holder drops out, next in line has option to take over that car over.

Selling to net new folks IMO shows financial stress. They want to make as much money as possible vs selling to those folks that have supported them over the last 5 years.
If resell demand was strong. Deposit holders would take delivery and flip them. As much as I like them. 40-50k with a 10% interest rate is no bueno! Think Speeds hands are tied with undelivered built cars. No choice but to sell at current market pricing.

From what I gather, not sure how many speeed/rdp owners are concerned with high interest rates on toy loans, they are more of a cash & go be poor elsewhere kinda clan.

5 years is a crazy long time without a car. At least one new generation of Can Ams and Polaris's have been released since then right?
Correct. While RG was doing his presentations in 2020 Polaris was finalizing the Pro R and Can Am was testing the Maverick R. Why neither company seemed overly concerned with what Speed was doing.

Plus rumor is Kawi will have a new sport UTV that should be announced early next year. I thin they had a teaser video at their recent dealer show.

You should always be in 4 wheel.
Yeah I run my RZR in 4 wheel just curious as I know some people still like to slide the car around a little. I’ve run it in 2 before and it’s fun for a minute but then once you go back in 4 it’s soooo much more fun.

4 wheel drive doesn’t apply to you….

If you get in a hairy situation you’ll stop for a Coldie and figure it out….
Honestly just curious. When i bought it the guy said always keep it in 2WD. 😂. I trust that @rivrrts429 has better info than him.

And…. You’re right about the freshie stop. 😁. @HNL2LHC Tim thought i was lost everytime we stopped. It was only every other.
The plan worked out great @DWC. Mark had twice as many drinks that day that I had expected. 👍 Even had the wife comment she was happy that we went on the additional 7 U-turn Tour to the mine. Did Steph extract and weigh the gold that she got in the quartz stone OR should that not be put on a public forum?

Pretty sure that rock is still in the car somewhere. I get one for the collection pretty much every ride.

Wondering the Same Don. Should we be running 2 or 4 in the dirt @DLC ?

4 wheel in fast desert runs 4wheel drive (4x ) keeps ya from sliding and fish tailing ( getting sideways ) - Keeps the car going straight !

If you like the feeling of the rear end sliding in fast turns keep it in 2 wd / 2x

Next time try 4 wd / 4x

Won’t hurt anything!

I have more miles in 4x than 2x on my car….

Just keep in mind don’t switch into 4x unless your stopped or under 5mph !

I run my RZR Turbo in 2WD 99% of the time, I like the feeling of the car being slightly loose, my driving style is aggressive. The other benefit for me is MPGs are increased. The only scientific study on this comparison is to the other turbos in the group and they use about 25% more fuel than me on the long runs.

On another note I just did the southern AZ peace trail this past weekend (380 miles). There were 3 Speed cars in the group, those cars perform great! They mob the desert and run fast. Two of the cars had the extended 14gal fuel tanks installed and had zero issues with the cars.

I have a pretty light yxz relatively speaking, I run in 4x dunning most of the time, 2x at the hill or big dunes, but as I get older being super lose is giving me motion sickness sometimes, never had that issue until I hit my late 40s.

I drove @RiverDave car in glamis over the weekend. I was very impressed. The car handled everything I could throw at it. In some ways I like it better than my Turbo R.

I’d be curious how it would run with a Speed Key in Glamis. It wasn’t lacking any power running 34” Paddles.

With that being said. It is 💯 designed to be a desert car. I think it would excel in dirt.

It’s a purpose built car, it can run the dunes, but it is better suited for the desert. I wouldn’t be afraid to own one..

2wd vs 4wd:

4wd will generally be better almost everywhere. Less stress on rear axles/CV's and helps spread the load across the entire drivetrain, allowing all parts to last longer, including belts. The downside is that it can make the car understeer or "push" in tight corners, especially if you have the front diff locked, which should only be done to help pull the car over an obstacle (rocks, logs, mud, snow, etc.).

2wd is better for tight turning, or if you like that "rear steer" type of driving, but it will put more load on rear axles. It's not uncommon for race UTV's to start breaking rear axles once they lose front drive.

It should be noted that the Polaris Pro-R defaults to 4wd. Putting power to the 4wd actuator pulls it out of gear for 2wd. If the actuator fails or the electrical fails for some reason, it will revert back to 4wd.
