So how many deliveries are happening weekly now?
Seems like there are quite a few coming out. Saw a couple at In and Out on the way to Havasu. Great looking cars with a ton of upside. Really figured they’d dial in their shit by now.

The season is here !

You’d think they would have a few hundred cars ready to go out the door

It looked like they had a bunch at the grand opening deal.

Yet...

My friend is still waiting on his.

Makes absolutely no sense to me.

That's what i was going to say. I don't understand it either. I live across the street from the Anaheim location. Seems full all the time. But then I come here and hear no one has cars yet. It's strange for sure.

What’s crazy is we are nearing 2 years (in Feb) since cars were first released. Since then they have maybe delivered 1000 cars or so.

No wonder no one answers the phones. The overhead has to be sooo low to survive on this business model.

Also 5 years since deposits and still no dealer network?

And lastly these cars are already old. Everyone getting one is a 2024 model. They havnt passed 2025 carb/epa yet. And also old in tech as well.

The new Mav R with DCT. Pro R 2.0 liter.

The people I know that have them can’t sell them either. It’s kinda funny because it was (it’s too hot, no one is buying toys) well here we are in the riding season and guess what still not sold.

The guys that are #2500 and up will likely take a loss if they want to sell. As they are at a higher price point. But they are still a year or more out to get there car.

What happened to 100 a week?

They have to be low on cash by now

My buddy just sold his for 42k. He pretty much broke even after the add ons and taxes. He put it up for sale initially for 50k and it took 6 months to sell.

Might be filled with cars people do not want to pick up, waiting for them to prep for delivery, or cars in for service.

He is lucky he got it sold. You can get a 2024 Maverick R for less OTD and same with a 2024 PRO R.

With between 6 & 8 million dollars in deposits?

Seven million in savings, at 3 percent interest, would pay out $17,500 per month.

I'm no banker, but I would venture a guess that you could do a whole lot better than 3 percent interest, if there was a 7 million dollar balance in the works.

But me? Hell, I'm not greedy! I'll take that 17.5k per month and be happy. 👍

You don’t really see any 4 digit cars….

Almost all cars have 3 numbers like Vic’s Neighbor #247

You Have wonder what the Hold Up is….

Slow roll cars - to find issues ( beta testers )
Slow roll cars - less cars to warranty, can fix problems / update on the assembly line as they roll off

Do they want all these cars out in the wild ?

Yes but what are there expenses? Payroll, insurance, buildings, vendors, Hisun. That money dries up quick and delivering what 10 cars a week at maybe a profit. Yep cash flies out the window quick

I’d imagine the payment on his Anaheim building alone is more than 17.5k a month.

Saw a trailer with two speed cars on the 40. One car was #770 the other was a 5xxx car? Kind of surprised me to see numbered car that high.

You guys don't get it...

I put 3 percent as an ULTRA conservative number, just to give you a hint of what Speed is sitting on over there!

How much is Your IRA making? 10-15 percent? Imagine the monthly income Speed has just using that deposit interest? 🤣

And with a Chinese billionaire backing as well?

I wanna say, I wish I could run a business like that! But in reality, I don't.

I'm just happy I didn't jump in when everyone else did. Truth be told, I absolutely did give it some thought.

All I can do is pray, that my friend is made whole.

I doubt they are making any money on deposits. That money was spent on parts and tooling.

I just hope they have plenty of capital to get them to the profit stage. They are probably putting out a lot more than what is coming in at this point.

Id be doing more that just hating, if Speed had my money for over five years.

If this was a boating company pulling this shit? Can you imagine what people would say??

🍿

Now it’s five years?? lol

By the way when they took initial deposits they were very clear about no refunds as well they were pretty clear that it was going to be awhile before you got what they were initially selling.. they ended up designing a car from the ground up that is far superior to what everyone bought.. to accomplish what they have in as short of time as they did is pretty impressive.

It has been less than four years from initial deposits and we went through a world wide pandemic causing all kinds of supply issues..

On your numbers it wouldn’t even cover the insurance nut for the month..

Did he get his second? One for Utah one for Arizona. Perfect
Nope. They said June for the second and here we are just about November. Right now he doesn’t really want it unless they fix the windshield issue for 80 degree days and more importantly the clutch issues where it’s blowing belts.

Morgan motorsports has the fix on the windshield program.. the belt deal seems to be car by car.. I haven’t blown a belt yet

What’s Morgan motor sports charge for the fix? If you don’t run the windshield it’s a non issue or would you still do the fix?

It’s a non issue without the windshield.. I want to say it is 3700 for the oil cooler / roof scoop?

I just took his 3000 orders X a minimum deposit?

I know my friend bought just about Every accessory that was available for it, and he Had to pay for all those up front as well. He's in like 15k I think?

He's kicking himself Big time right now.

There's quite a few of us that have been trying with zero luck to get accessory money back. The car deposit has always been listed as non-refundable so that is what it is, but no where (including receipts, emails, website messages, etc) that mentions accessories. There was a point where if you bitched loud enough you could but that seems to have stopped a while ago

Why is your friend still waiting for a car? Buy one that is on the market, go to speed and get the accessories that are paid for, and put the accessories on the car.

He will probably get out cheaper than the price he is supposed to pay whenever his car arrives.

He really doesn't even want it anymore.

He's not sure what he's gonna do.

It's an f'd up situation for sure.

I'm pretty sure it was September of 2019 when he started taking deposits. I put my deposit down in June of 2020 and I am #1813. No idea when mine is coming.

I remember Sancho 2018 Speed - had a big Ol Booth set up.

I took my wife so she could sit in all the cars, then later that month I bought my can am max
We talked about the new up coming Speed Car at the show

But
Maybe deposits were NOT until 2019

That is not a good business decision IMO.

Initial deposit holders should have first option on those cars that they have in stock (unless deposit holders vehicle has been built and shipped). Deposit holder drops out, next in line has option to take over that car over.

Selling to net new folks IMO shows financial stress. They want to make as much money as possible vs selling to those folks that have supported them over the last 5 years.

They tried that on my friend also.

Hey, come get what we have in stock!

I believe what they have in stock, is not the exact model he has on order.

The Money/economy thing, is Definitely not an issue with him.
