Latest news is apparently they are dropping 12 cars and seeing how it goes. The fact that number is 12 and not 20+ is a little concerning to me as a deposit holder.. I was under the impression they were going to drop at least 20.

That said LOF won’t be arguing in this thread

No, not mine, I asked him since he was moving me up in line, what number did he think mine would be considering I was 125, he said 80-90.
I think you have a 7X number correct? You'll probably be moved up quite a bit since we are seeing cars in the 30's being shipped right now.

Well that’s the point of releasing a small batch is for that scrutiny? So if there is problems they can fix all the ones in production before they go out?

Yes, you're correct, that's the point. However, most manufacturers do this kind of stuff internally - "vehicle testing" - done by employees, away from the public, not done by the public/owners.

Most manufacturers don’t share the R&D process either? I rather enjoyed watching it come to life. It’s a shame that this transparency went negative in terms of marketing.. I do blame some of Robbie’s attitude toward other mfg’s for that though

You're right about other manufacturers too. You and other investors and those of us interested in what and when this will be have enjoyed watching the show ("come to life"). The transparency hasn't been all that transparent but it's how the company owners have handled the development and marketing that has caused this. The blown up threads on this car are a direct result of how this product's gestation has been (mis) managed.

You and everyone else knowing more about this car is the result of the company not keeping the development and pre-delivery stages under wraps. Whether it's been good or bad for them, the car and the market is to be determined (studied after the fact). What they're trying to do is admirable. How they've done it is, in my opinion, just another example of a startup that's good at something(s) but not so good at others and that's tough. Most companies have "specialists" often called Directors like Director of Marketing, Director of Sales, Director of R&D/Engineering, etc. Seems to me this egocentric guy is really good and not very good for the company.

The Speed test cars were beating 2021 or 2022 Can Ams by what looked like 2-3 cars. That was documented in Speed’s testing.

Power to weight as of this moment Speed has the advantage on paper. We will see exactly this very soon hopefully.

All other data points from the last 3 years aside, that's really the only way to do it, especially for a brand-new company with their first car.

How long is the Beta test and will any results be published or do people need to root through the internet to find out. I guess the answer will come if the next batch of cars start rolling or not.

I think the big difference between Speed and other manufacturers is that other manufacturers didn't collect customers money ahead of time. Once people are literally invested it becomes a lot more personal.

If that were true it would not be so personal for those that do not have deposits. People are free to do whatever they want with their money. It is not a bad thing they took peoples deposits. No one was coerced to buy one.

The car was always going to be late. Did anyone expect this late, no, but no one expected covid and supply chain issues, and Speed did not expect to receive the demand they did.

This was originally supposed to be a small production run of cars based on an existing vehicle. No one here with a deposit wants the product compromised after waiting this long and being this close to the end.

could the speed key be the hold up at CARB?

There was some issues with Suzuki back in the day with the LTR450. You could buy an aftermarket plug in that re-mapped it, but it wouldn’t be up to emissions standards.

Suzuki ended up discontinuing the ltr because of it.

Considering that every brand of mass produced UTV made over the past 10 years have had their share of junk parts and failures, and people still enjoy them, I can pretty much guarantee that 95% of people that receive these Speed UTV's will see and appreciate how much better they will be compared to the competition.

Of course we will all hear about the negative Nancy's complaining about them in some fashion or another. It's the quiet masses that you need to pay attention to.

With the reported power they would be a monster on the snow trails, and would make me want to consider one down the road.

You can buy track systems for just about anything. If you need to modify in existing track system to mount on a speed it wouldn’t be that difficult

I didn't say it was 100% true, but I do believe people who made deposits for a Speed car are much more invested, literally, then customers just waiting to see what the new Polaris car will be.

I know a guy here who put a deposit in way early for the Z06 and he's very low on the list and he's having great difficulty getting any idea on if/when he'll get his car due to limited production and dealer allocations. If you don't have a deposit in now my guess is you ain't getting one unless you pay $50-$100,000K over
