4WD dyno with speed key. I heard 231 HP at the wheels. Speed key plus improved brakes, that’ll take care of the competition
They’re just now doing test & learns on a dyno?

Its kinna hard to Dyno a car that ain't built yet. 😉

Progress though! 👍🏼
Not built? How many are here or on the water? I’d say not mass production but to say they’re not built is a bit off. 😉. If they were doing it to work on reliability, it should have been done on a stand before putting them in cars and shipped here.

No, you heard the number "231", they didn't say HP. Maybe that was belt temp, maybe that was HP, maybe water temp? Hell, maybe it was MPH

34 Customer cars here, 9 on the way, then another batch coming right after the 9, they are waiting on some updates, probably brakes pads, and or turbo ducting stuff

I was mostly joking...

But you are 💯 percent correct.

This piece was violently rushed to market. Most manufacturers do extensive testing way before production.

The customers are the beta testers for this thing.

Sorry, It was late and I’m loaded up on every cold med they make. My sarcasm meter and everything else is a bit off. 😬
A bit rushed is spot on. I’m not sure what I’d do if i was on the Speed Team. It’s easy to say slow down and get things right. Tougher to do these days. Everything is so public. I’d bet that dyno session had less to do with showing how much power and more to do with recent head to head testing.

What?? 231 HP WITH speed key? What happened to 300?
231 and pay extra to get this with no warranty?
Please confirm Carl 👍 😁

I'm thinking 300 HP is at the crankshaft, about ~25% drivetrain loss. If the belt system is similar to a modern automatic or manual rwd vehicle?
231 HP at the tires is ~305 HP at the crank, using a 25% loss factor.

Just my $0.02

231hp to the wheels on E85 is not bad. Hopefully the belt can handle the additional power. Unless they figure out the belt situation the competition will be passing them. There are plenty of E85 tuned Can Am's running around Glamis that put out more hp and don't shred belts.

I was thinking the same thing. Not sure I would want to use that Speed key quite yet.

On the Speed website, it says something about 'with a speed key, the warranty doesn't apply'.

I'm thinking it'll be used sooner than later.

The white glove warranty covers speed key and you can get up to 4 years coverage. You could just use your speed key everyday you ride.

And just a mere 6500.00 with a warranty! 🤣

Does it cover "all internally lubricated parts", and nothing else, like every other warranty out there?

Got a link to the actual coverage?

🤔

Why? Don't need to run E85 other than in the dunes where more hp is needed.

LOL! Plus the cost of your time and gas to take it to the only place currently available to get the warranty work done - Havasu.

You can buy a 1-2-3-4 year extended factory warranty that covers everything including the speed key. Plus chase vehicles with parts at events.. puts for certain races and private events for speed owners.

Doesn't say shit about what is covered! Or, not covered. Just some fancy sales pitch is all.

Also...

Warranty void if you race it, but they will be on hand to service at all the races.

Ummm. Yeah. Ok. Makes sense! Lemme get my my 4500.00 out right NOW!!!

🤣🤣🤣

You should reread it again because it doesn’t say what you said..

It’s the whole car and that is for four years

Got a link??

What you just said is pretty much impossible Dave. No one warranties cover wear items. Including seats, bulbs and a million other things that will go wrong!

They would go BK in short order if they put a warranty on the WHOLE car. No way that's gonna happen.

But if you have the documentation to back that up, I'm sure Everyone would like to see it in writing. 👍🏼

The word comprehensive means in its entirety to me?

Every powersports warranty uses the word "comprehensive", then in the fine print is everything that is not cover. Wear items being first on the list - clutches, belts, brakes, bushings, rod ends, etc.....

Some of those wear items will be covered if it they fail within a few hundred miles.

Just want the warranty to cover the big ticket items - engine, trans, electronics, and front diff. With Speed the steering system.

Lmao. Speed was looking for Boardmanville, some Red Barron frozen pizza and some Budlight.

Uhhhh, hello...

It's boating season now.

Boardmanville and The Desert Bar are CLOSED for the summer.

See ya on the water! 👍🏼

P. S. Did you find that warranty contract yet? 🤔

Funny as I go through glamis to get to Parker and there is a boardmanville sign on the highway that literally says “closed for the season”

75 mph up steep part of olds

Olds and Steep are two words that don't exactly go together. Where is the vid of one hauling azz up Choke Cherry?

You don't get out much do you Carl.

See ya on the water! 😁

P.S. Did you find the warranty coverage documents yet? 🤷‍♂️

75 up any dune in a utv with regular tires and no speed key in that heat is not to shabby.

It will be interesting to see how it does in the customers hands in the dunes.

However I do find it sorta weird that in a recent video he made mention that his cars really weren't built for the dunes, had to scratch my head on that comment. Last time I checked it seemed that a rather large swath of his customer base are active duners and plan on using it for dunning. But hey, who am I to even question his logic on that.

We shall see.
