So is the rumor true about RG not allowing companies to make aftermarket products for Speed cars? If so that’s going to be huge. You’re restricted to only Speed products from speed dealers. That would be a deal breaker for allot of people.

Ya that's RG's plan. I am kind of surprised he didn't make his wheels and tires a weird size like 15.5" so you had to use only his stuff. He is what killed the XX aftermarket support with all the letters to sue. I don't see how speed will be any different.

That’s awesome news, I have been looking for months now every single day for the right “one” and fina found it last week. My friend flew into Texas today and is driving it home as we speak. It’s a 2016 Entegra 44L with only 12k miles, they were asking 260k and I was able to get it for 225K so I don’t think it was that bad of a deal. These things have so many buttons it’s going to take a bit to get used to it lol

Not selling well, poor marketing through Artic Cat/Textron/Bass Pro Shops and not making a turbo or 4 seat variant is what killed and continues to hold back that car.

RG scaring off everyone that tried to make long travel kits for it did the rest.

The Speed wheels are the same bolt pattern as 4 lug Polaris.

Weirdly one of the first units is going to an aftermarket company? Shock therapy so I wouldn’t think that would be true

Maybe your not familiar with how RG treated the aftermarket companies from day 1 on the wild cat. Not selling well, poor marketing, etc wasn't the reason no aftermarket support. This video explains it pretty well.

I'm aware. My good friend led the team at Textron that designed the thing. The branding and marketing was a debacle from the beginning. The car didn't sell well because no one wanted a Textron UTV, just like they don't want a Tracker UTV, just like they don't want a Hisun UTV. And RG did it no favors by running off all the people that wanted to upgrade the suspension because he wanted to corner the market on long travel kits and other upgrades for it.

This is pretty much a non issue now.. this car does not need long travel suspension. They are not going to stop anyone from making bumpers, light mounts, storage solutions, aftermarket radios and stereos, windshields, braces etc. There are not patents on that stuff to infringe upon.

Like Dave said, Shock Therapy will be getting an early one and will probably have a host of parts for it pretty quick, as well as their suspension setup that I hopefully wont need, :) just like they did with the Pro R.

Shock therapy bought the car it is not being supplied. And they aren’t as early as you think.

Yep, that is what I heard as well. Racing buddy has stated most aftermarket shops are staying away from Speed for now. The demand for parts is not high enough to risk the money currently
Normally aftermarket manufacturers get the cars a few months before the public.

so changing to aftermarket suspension on a turn key car is going to be possible. Interesting, the 'savings' is getting smaller.

I haven't been on this thread since the Spring.

What is the latest on delivery timeframes? I am camping next weekend with someone on the list. His order number is around 1,900.

That number is 6-8 months out IMO, IF deliveries start around Thanksgiving.

First release & delivery of Speed cars going to be slow. Not because of production capabilities, but the obvious fact is these first few cars are not going to be grocery & mall crawlers. You guys that put down early deposits and have low # spots are the serious off road people that will keep RG awake nights for several weeks and months. He knows these first cars are going off road immediately,he also knows Havasu and Az going to be proving grounds. A rubber oil return hose slipping off the nipple could be a disaster.

I gotta say, Im a bit confused by these statements.... This entire thread has been about NOTHING needed, cars 100% dialed and ready to race/play/dune/kick ass... Robbie has made comments that the shocks are "trophy truck shocks/technology" and would be over $20k to purchase alone.. the steering set up is trophy truck shit.... What could Shock Therapy possibly do/make for the SPEED car? I thought they didnt need a thing unlike a CanAm and/or Polairs...?

They would want to buy the car so they can develop parts to make $$$.

Simple and done by every aftermarket company in the world. Most new performance cars with active exhaust or suspension can't really gain anything through the aftermarket but people still like options and feel the need to be different so they spend the $$$.

People will buy it just to say they have it.
Looks at the industry, you don’t “need” all the stuff aftermarket sells, but it gives you the “baller status” parked next to the same car on the hill or at the drags.

Essentially, limiting his customers options. He's way too proud of himself to let regular people kustomize to their own tastes.

Robby has patents on the whole car. You won't be able to get most aftermarket stuff, for example: a-arms, trailing arms, axles, gears, clutches, exhaust, turbo, tunes, doors,, pistons, heads, transmissions, sway bars, ecu, steering components, intake, etc

Trump has been re-elected

Gas prices are falling. - It's the first time you have seen single digit prices since Russia nuked Ukraine

Ford has caught up to chip shortages. There's F250's on the lot. They're on sale.

Victory over Covid bs-12.04.4 has been declared, yet the cashier at El Pollo Loco is still behind plexi glass (still......)

You've got mail - yore Speed Car is 2 weeks out. Thank god they caught that rear tail-light durability issue in the last round of testing.

2025 is your year........

I get the development side from outside companies... but everybody has been bragging from day 1, Robby top of that list, how this car needs NOTHING!! Has the best of the best parts wise. So somebody is gonna buy a SPEED, and tear apart the "$20k shocks" and install ST $1800 spring kit to look cool? The point of this car was you didn't have to do that, and people were gonna save $20k in aftermarket shit to make the car work. I get door bags, mirrors and stuff like that, but mechanically and parts wise this car has been pushed as being DIALED!! If ST comes up with a better mouse trap Id think thats bad for what SPEED has been pushing for the last 2 years.

You shouldn't need too?
shouldn’t….. I’ve been lead to believe the shocks would need nothing. Meaning the purchase price would save you compared to a competitors.
People like changing parts.
Will it need shock work?? Guess eventually we will know
