Those are called girl scout cookies.
Should we regulate youth car washes too?
What about garage sale income? They block streets also. Being sarcastic of course.

I see both sides of the coin. They should have to have some sort of regulation. If nothing else for public health and a fair game with brick and mortar.

With as greedy as this state is for tax revenues I’m amazed the state is willing to not chase down that tax revenue from these pop up restaurants.
And BTW piss on that turd Jerry Brown and no I didn’t vote for this

If I owned a restaurant that is exactly what I’d do.. I’d be quadrupling my footprint on the 4 blocks surrounding, paying zero taxes on those locations and no health inspections and using the kitchen to support the program with runners, outside tables and chairs.. restaurant itself most likely closed to the public so you can bypass all legalities. Lol

Grade A? B? Nope.. grade outside bitches!

This is the business model a guy up here is using. Has a restaurant with his family cooking, but the trucks and trailers around the area are the main outlets. There's a couple tables in the restaurant, but they don't even have a sign up.

Every single person on this forum skirts the tax laws as much as they can and looks for anyway possible to pay as little fees and taxes quarterly they can and now they’re upset that someone else is doing it better 🤪😂

No skirting being done here…Just so I understand…it’s ok to take from the system(ie free health care, welfare, etc) but not to contribute to the system? No wonder my income tax was raised this year…oh yeah I voted for that as well. 🙄

Recently we had an issue with a street vendor in Torrance. There was a legit Mexican food restaurant that was for take out and they had a business license and all the requirements. Well the street vendor literally set up on the sidewalk adjacent to the parking lot in front of his business and basically was giving him a big🖕. That is when it became an issue. The vendor got several tickets for unsanitary food conditions. You had to feel bad for the business owner who was running a legitimate business.

Now do HVAC techs, or any other tradesmen you picked up on the corner to do some work :)

Don’t want to get high and mighty here, but can’t help it. It’s called law and order, values that made this country great. These vendors are operating on a public space, paid for by us taxpayers, rent free. Most likely committing tax evasion. That’s BS.

It all starts with the tone at the top, be it local, state or federal. At least one place my vote will count is avoiding these pirate operations. Got that off my chest, feel better now 😳

Penche Guero Tacos in LHC, very small operation. Outstanding, regulated and inspected. They’re excellent ! No late night intersection activities.
Lol at $10 a taco better be good. Overpriced overrated. Also it is pronounced Pinche.

Do you really wanna know what gives those places on the street all that flavor? 😂
Flash back memory of white castles in new jersey linden or Elizabeth or ? Curb service, "give two rats and a soda", or "feed them" if you wanted cheese on it. big black guys cooking and sweating badly over the grill. Most flavorful mini burgers you could get .

I drove by 5 street vendors to spend my hard earned money here. Was talking with the Owner last week. Few more locations coming soon. I will post up when they are open. Tonight special $8. Tomorrow night is $2 OG fish tacos. Barely made it in time or I would be eating street tacos, halame, Pastor burrito or cooking but I cooked last few nights.

Rewind 30 years....yard maintenance guys popped up all over. No license. No taxes. Cash.
Essentially the same. Someone following the legal path is going out of business as I type

I have no doubt the food is great. I'm all for a human being successful. But there's no way this is good for the city, state or country.

Now, if these corner food vendors are paying taxes and have permit etc that's different.
It's no different than the people setting up on any boardwalk a putting the brick and mortar shop 10 feet away going out of business

That's true. I do everything possible to not pay 37% and get it down to 36%
I'm skirting taxes for sure

Serious question for those in support of these vendors......Where do you draw the line?

Do you only support and eat the food from the ones cooking in front of you on the sidewalk.......or.......

Do you also support and eat the food from the ones with pre wrapped burritos in foil, serving you from an ice chest in the back of their Ford Aerostar at Home Depot?

Is a taco just a taco or does it matter how / where it is prepared, stored, transported, served?

I get both sides of the argument. But at the end of the day, most of these guys are here illegally but they’re human and they have a family to feed and rent and bills to pay. They’re not going to be able to operate a restaurant legally. They’re not going to have the money to start a restaurant. They’re just trying to get by.

If you want to blame someone, blame the politicians and our open border. Blame our immigration policies.

If any of us lived in a shit hole country and we were able to come here to provide a better life for our wife and kids, we would do the same, at least I would.

In the meanwhile, enjoy a taco or two and hope your don’t shit yourself the next day. 😆

Nothing wrong with working hard to provide for your family. However, if a restaurant has to abide by the rules of the law. So should the street vendors...

The people of California spent the last 30 years voting for people that put the interests of non citizens and criminals ahead of their own interests.

This is what happens. The people of California voted for this. And if they didn’t vote for it, they continue to vote for people that refuse to fight against it.

County of Riverside does do regular bust on these people. I have literally seen code enforcement roll up and confiscate everything from the ones cooking outside with the ez ups. If they are cooking outside and not in a trailer or truck they bust them. Just saw it on 74 in Elsinore last weekend. I think they just buy new shit and come right back the next day though 🤣🤦‍♂️

They don't pay $15K in taxes per year? So they don't have a reported income; they get free healthcare; free food for the kids; food subsidies; subsidized rent, and if a worker is hurt, you and I pay for it. Their kids go to USC for free, while we pay for our kids to go to a junior college. And you guys are cool with that?

I can't wrap my head around any tradesman or business owner on here that supports these places.

Again, fuck those places. Let them work hard and pay taxes like the rest of us do.

Hey look, it's 3:45 am, is the hard working taco guy starting his work day? DOUBT IT

Restaurant owners and employees have families to feed as well along with bills and rent and privilege cost (taxes). Look hard enough I bet you'll find a lot of restaurant owners started with nothing and became successful. Its the same argument as immigrants who legally came into the country and those who didnt. Why should the ones that didn't get the same privileges and get a free pass compared to those who did?
Without getting to political, by supporting these vendors the American people themselves are eliminating the middle class and hurting themselves.

I want a good street taco and if a vendor sells one I’m buying.

As for fast food f that these days 10-12 bucks for a basic crappy meal no thanks I’ll spend a couple bucks more for a good carne burrito or some tacos whether it’s a shop or street vendor.

When I work my time is tight so if I can get my food quick I’m all in.

Funny how many people can’t see the “big picture”. No wonder things have gotten to this point.

You would be surprised on how many of them use their EBT cards to purchase the food they will sell on the streets.
100% profit margin for them...
