Trump was up here twice. Once as a candidate, the other for reelection. For the latter, it was during covid/BLM summer. He spoke in our local little arena. That time the motorcade was pretty epic, but really no high ground surrounding. We did have more black Suburbans in town than GM though.
When he was a candidate, the security was much better than we saw yesterday. He spoke at our local airport. There were no less than 4 shooter teams positioned on various structures both on, and adjacent to the field.
Now, with times being as tumultuous as they are, it appears they had 1 or 2 teams covering. We've only heard of one team, covering from the rear. As callous as it sounds, hunting is hunting. If you are going to use bait, best know where your prey will come from. Before the stage is set, and bleachers filled, stand on the mark and scan your perimeter. All they needed was a uniformed officer on those roofs, and we wouldn't be talking about this today.
