Think I would have left the truck and flown back and forth, that drive has to get old.
I picked up a couple of garage floors to do out there. I need to haul my equipment back out.

I've stopped twice today. Once for coffee, and once for fuel. Mileage keeps getting better.

Snowbird in the making. Garage floors could keep you busy during the non boating season in WI.
Would be interested for my Havasu storage condo and garage in CBad.

The folks that follow my road trip threads know I have said this in the past but this is the part of the country where you can watch your dog run away for three days...

I'm not sure if you guys on regular computers versus mobile phones can zoom in on this picture or not but in Air Force awacs just took off

Its 1066 miles from havazoo to the turn at I35 in okc.

Northbound. :D
Longest run I have ever done was Anaheim to OKC...stopping for fuel, coffee and Copenhagen. No log books on that one. Crawled my ass into the back seat and woke up somewhere in Ohio. Good old days, being a road dog.

Looks like you scared the weather off. Looks to be comparable to here. It was 42 outside. I was BBQing...practicing. I figure there may be a skills test to get behind that "Curtain" of yours:cool:

That looks like the Hampton I told you about that’s attached to the casino?? Pretty decent food at the steakhouse inside.

It is. I'm too wiped out to eat. I'll grab breakfast in the a.m., and roll!

Thanks for the tip!

Absolutely! I know you want to get home but offer stands when you drive through Olathe tomorrow, breakfast, lunch or a smoke break I’m 2 minutes off of I-35. Safe travels.

You just drive till ya can't no more. :p:p

Only stop for food, fuel and bathroom at same time. When I road-trip (without wife) that is the rule.
Stop for the night when tired. Last time I drove to WI (2005), I had to drive until 2am, hotels I stopped at starting at 11pm were all full due to tornado watches. Longest 3 hours I have driven.

1300 miles? Back in my day, I could drive 1750 miles, any time, but now that I’m old, my limit is about 1100 miles

How come Boat GPS shows an average MPH but cars don't?
Stay safe, this place isn't going anywhere.

Probably only 1300 or so...But obviously that was towing, and in those cases, driving someone else's rig. Usually, two guys team driving a pickup and a crappy 30ft tag, or a seriously overloaded box truck.
Now days, I'm a bit more careful. About the time I quit doing the shows, I fell asleep at the wheel of my own truck. Now, I try to banzai in and out of big cities...so I can sleep in the boondocks if needed.

A bunch of our GM cars do, but not my Denali o_O figure that one out...but my Denali is the only one that shows “fuel used” and that’s extremely accurate, always within a half gallon, usually a couple tenths. I find that handy for running the tank as far as possible.

Good morning @Headless hula safe travels today

Well? All ya gotta do is sit there....o_O

Easier said than done for some of us ---- As much as I'm often envious of your youthful vigor and boundless energy, that ass, Oh God I wish I had your ass  :p
There was a time when I too had an iron ass :D Now, shit I can't even buy a car or truck without getting my ass's permission first --- and even the best won't please it for long.

Missed most of this latest adventure, but from the little I've read, it would seem you enjoyed a few good weather days on the lake & river and made a few bucks perhaps to cover some expenses.
Travel safe :)

Near Emporia KS.
Wide open spaces. :D
I honestly don't think that this is boring, it is very hard to tell by the pictures but it is quite pretty. You can for see for miles and miles and all of the features. Little strips of woods, tiny little potholes filled with ducks...

That's what I liked about road tripping. Having grown up near big cities, the only open spaces were desert. Farmland and forests were like a distant planet. It grew on me:)

On each of our driving trips to Havasu I would typically get lip asking why we didn't fly. Truthfully I don't enjoy the overall flying experience but most importantantly we always saw something new and learned something different.
