Ok, then what's next here? I'm all out the last time it hit $5.00 a gallon...

You better buy something in the next couple weeks. There is going to be a run on commuter cars.
Any ideas on what this going to do to the used truck market? Weed out the people who can barely afford them in the first place?

If these keep going the way they are going, in 18 months the new and used truck market will be fine.

3 swipes At Costco for diesel for me. I need to get a commuter again so I am only filling up with AZ fuel for the truck.

Shit sucks!!!!
In 1980 I bought a new Honda Civic in Torrance. I waited about 4 months to get it. Yes gas prices were high.

I've been looking at the 62 gallon from S&B to replace my current stock 36. It's $1,250 and that's a lot of tanks to get my money back if towing or more if not.
Best thing I ever did. It’s worth it

Crude normally front runs gas by 4-6 weeks. I.E refiners bought the crude that is in today's gas 4-6 weeks ago. The run up of the last two weeks are not reflected in prices at the pump yet.

I work for Chevron in Oil and Gas trading and here are a few other tid bits you won't hear about on the news.

1. The Market is currently pricing in removal of sanctions against Iran, this is keeping prices down, if these come back online we'll see a spike.
2. Most of the industry will not ramp up production due to the current political environment, those that are willing to, are facing major delays in getting equipment due to supply chain issues.
3. WTI is currently 113 a bbl. We're starting to model out scenario's up to 185 a bbl this summer depending on how things go with the Russian War.

Lastly whoever it was that said the oil companies are raping everyone.

I guess you work for some organization that's goal isn't to make money, a non profit perhaps?

Lol the guy works for a power company I think 😂.

Why people still don’t understand oil companies work on a % markup, just like most every other company earth, I don’t understand.

I don’t think that’s the piece that fire’s people up. Instead, it’s the trillions $$ in subsidies the energy verticals receive each year while maintaining billion dollar profits annually.

Even that would be OK if it kept energy costs low. No one complained about them making billions when CA gas was $3.00/gallon.

I payed 8 bucks for a mcmuffin meal today, that is without the California fuel tax included. I think the process of making a gallon of gas is a little more risky than a mcmuffin, i could be worng.

My company lost billions less than a year ago, but now because Covid is getting back to normal, Smokey joe propping up oil countries again doing away with fossil fuel(laughable)and a few world issues, companies are making money, i call it right place at the right time. If you would of bought some oil stock when they were losing their ass a year ago, the extra 50 bucks to fill your tank wouldn't mean shit.

I don’t disagree. Just pointing out where people’s frustrations likely come from. The price of energy has little effect on the upper classes of society and has the greatest impact on the lower incomes. They’re going to be your loudest haters or supporters.

I dont want to thumbs up that but damn it's true.

If you love what they've done to your healthcare, you're gonna love what they're doing to the cost of energy!!!!
Energy is a commodity and traded in a open market. Health care and prescription drugs is a whole different game.

I thought this too .... But I'm realizing that there's probably new cars that better mileage than my road bike.

Yeah, but how much are those new cars going to cost you? You could probably pay for a lot of gas with the difference.

If u don’t see how government manipulation astronomically increases the cost of both then I really don’t have much More I can add.

$5.01 for diesel at the 40/95 interchange. Just paid $4.29 for 87 at chevron in havasu. Saw diesel at $6.29 in needles on my drive this morning.

Our president is doing a bang up job let me tell you!

The truck is about to get parked next to the house in havasu, and im going to be driving a hybrid for the foreseeable future. @Tank I think you are spot on...$7 national average is my bet by July. It's going to make everything skyrocket even more....the trucking industry is going to get hit hard.

Since we're talking about energy in general, thought I'd note my natural gas bill went up from roughly $30 a month to $120 a month!!! guess the state had a huge rate hike. Kind'a fucked up to go up 300% in one month.

See this is how the government will push the weak to go buy electric cars. The problem is once you get to a third or more people owning these EV's then the price is going to go up with electricity prices dramatically. So, this is a no-win situation all the way around. In the meantime, we, "America" is sitting on enough reserves to last 200 to 300 years of petroleum to run all cars and everything that is fuel powered. If you go and mix that with the electric vehicles and the advancements that "will" take place in the future, we should not be cutting the flow and the exploration of fuels. On top of the "climate change" BS rhetoric that the government is trying to shove down our throats here in the USA. We are near the top in the world for being clean in all aspects of life. My .02 cents is its all "BULLSHIT" for control of the people!

I hope all the 81 million are proud of themselves.
Fuck every single one of them.

But oil companies are mean evil tyrants that ruin the climate.

Electric companies are clean as the driven snow. 🙄

Feeling a bit bent out of shape seeing prices here in Phoenix jumping $.75-$1.00 in one week. Budgeting about $800 a month now to run my truck for just commuting. These fuel prices are getting in the way of other financial goals I'm working on.

The Chevron that I use in havasu went up 30 cents from the time I drove by it to go to Albertsons, till I came back through and filled up about an hour later. FML.
