Just finished gel on the interior. Not sure if I want to carpet the inside of the side panels or not. 20170607_104814.jpg

With all the work you have done, do this next step right as you have with everything else! Go SeaDek for the panels and floor!

I ordered hydra deck yesterday. 😎

I tried talking to sea dek, and the only way they'd operate is making templates and sending stuff back and forth.

Just like everything else, I'll cut my own pieces thank you...

One of the guys mentoring me...

Hehe...weird...I don't give a single fuck about what someone thinks about my shit.

I don't try to meet anyone's standards but my own...:D

BTW, you're killing me...I was going to wing the interior in my Spectra but after looking at you and Hydro's posts I'm gonna have to change my game plan lol

You guys are doing some serious epic work...looking great!

Picked up a different/newer style trim pump. It has a different connector than what the old one had. So I changed the end of my harness. 20170607_175007.jpg
The old.

New terminals for the connector. 20170607_180617.jpg
It's very helpful to have the correct tool.

Batteries will be mounted ahead of the new bulkhead.
Boat really liked a little weight forward. Rode better with a skinny chic in the front seat.😎🤘🤘🤘🤘

Back to fabrication mode for a few minutes. 20170610_221654.jpg
I don't have a brake to bend anything, so I used my vice grips to clamp a big piece of stock over the top of this .065 6061, bent it by hand, then tapped it flat with a hammer. I then used the piece of copper bat stock behind the weld joint. 20170610_221704.jpg
Granted, this is a fairly easy joint, but the fit up was really good. 20170610_223357.jpg
I am really enjoying the pulse feature on this little welder. :D

Ahahahaa Love the lables on them switches.
U running them tunes through a head unit?
All im thinking is ya just need something to bluetooth to speakers. Not need a cd player, radio, aux port ya get with a car stereo.

Yea buddy. The "tunes" switch gives the head unit power. I didn't want it on with the key. It's getting ran with a JL mm100 head unit, a couple of amps, 6 JL speakers and a pair of subs.

After 3 evenings of rerouting, crimping, soldiering and shrink tubing, it's VERY difficult to see all 26 wires that run through the valley. I am extremely thankful for hydroskreamin showing up to help my colorblind ass with this pile of spaghetti. 1497495913312558780504.jpg

I'm guessing ~510 (410 cu in, * 1.25 hp/cube, = 512.5 hp, @ 5500)

Hey hula can we get a recap on works done?

I might have missed something in the build.
I was going to say 390-400hp @ 5000.
All the best mate I hope she runs hard.

Nothing beats the rush of laying out and drilling new holes in your brand new finished dash... especially after a few 12oz cans of liquid courage. 😎

It's all mine to screw up. Here we go. 20170619_010938.jpg

I'm hoping for 1.25 out of a 383. ~475-ish, at 5500-5800. We shall see.

To think McMerc 496's are a hundred horse less, and 300 lbs heavier. :yikes

And that's why we built this small block.

Have you changed the rev limiter setting?

What size injector?

What cam?

Rev limiter was set to 6k, using the stock injectors, and I don't remember what the cam is. I'll have to dig back 6 months and find the cam card.

Trash, here's the cam. Screenshot_20170622-071738.jpg

And the vortec heads are stock, with the exception of stainless exhaust valves, beehive springs, roller tip rockets, etc...

What AFRs were you seeing? If those were stock injectors I'd think you'd be out of fuel at the top end.

The afrs were being monitored by 2 guys with over 50 years of engine tuning between them. I have no idea what the numbers were, other they deemed them suffiently safe. I'm not setting up my exhaust for o2 sensors, which is why the motor got tuned on the dyno in the first place.

I'm glad that I still have the 288kpa fuel pressure regulator so I can turn my cool fuel back down from 350kpa. 😎

Started with 502 MAG HO box HeadlessHula had bought. I'm pretty sure his injectors are 502 injectors. Left fuel map alone, set dyno fuel system pressure regulator at 40-42 PSI (270-290 kPa), put common sense/mild small block spark map in it, nosed around, went to 10:1 AFR above 4400. Continued to remove fuel until we had 12:1. Ended up w/~8.8 mSec@5200.

HeadlessHula doesn't know it, but he'll probably have O2's in his boat at some time...;)

Hydro,

Thanks for the feed back. I love this stuff.

The reason I'm asking is for comparative purposes. I'd hate to see an injector that was beyond 80% DC go static and melt the motor. The stock injectors were 26 lb / hr. If they are 502 injectors they are likely in the 36-42 lb/hr range. I use a 42 lb injector in a 377 and see around 12.4-12.5 above 5200 with a 7.9mSec bpw.

What spark did you max out at and did you leave the 40 degree advance in the 40 kPa column? I've had good luck with around 33-36 in the mid range cruise but it tapers to 33.8 at WOT.

Hey man, rereading what i posted sounded short. Sorry about that, it wasn't the intent. I honestly have such a very limited understanding of the "tuning" phase, I couldn't answer your question. This project was literally the first motor I ever helped assemble. I put my faith in the guys that know WTF they are doing, and hope to learn as much as possible in the process. Anyway, thanks for following along.
