I was on the 210 heading East yesterday morning at 4am and saw the fire in the distance. News said was about 50 acres at that time. Got off at Hubbard and picked up one of my vanpool riders. When we got to work at 5 they said the fire had grown to 1K acres. Wasn't long after getting to work that we heard the wind really picked up and the fire took off from there. My vanpool riders home was evacuated and as of last night the house is still there.

Our relatives made it out of the Shadow Hills area. As they were driving off they noticed one of the evergreen trees next to the house had ignited. He is in his 80's and didn't have the strength to try and stay and fight it. Fortunately his son-in-law is a fire fighter for the Santa Clarita fire department that had been dispatched to the creek fire. His wife notified him of her parents house that his team was in very close proximity to and he got to their home and extinguished all of the immediate danger/flames. There was some minor damage to the house but at least to this point it is not a total loss. Hope and pray for all those effected by this monster. Stay safe everyone.

the problem I have . I had to abandon the house this morning, to run my business. now I cant get back.
wife evacuated yesterday. slept at our business. now I arrived with Rv . but know, I cant make it back. why I took moho in first place, today.
all heavy fuel is all burned up. nothing left to burn. hope to get back tomorrow or Friday.

I hadn’t been following the fires that closely either until tonight.

I think this has to be some of the worst in California history? This is absolutely terrible.

I just cancelled all of our crews working in Santa Barbara today, the 101 freeway is now shut down for 17 miles between highway 126 in Ventura, and hwy 150. They have also shut down the 33 thru Ojai as the fire moves into that area down the hills to the valley. Mandatory evacuations have been added for coastal areas from Carpenteria down to the 126. The fire has jumped the freeway and is burning towards the water. Rincon and Mussel shoals are threatened. The fire along the coastal boundary has made it as far North as La Conchita, which is a small waterfront community on the hillside that was previously hit by devastating landslides around 2005.

The 405 is open in both directions through the Sepulveda Pass. We didn't have any issues going through the area this morning.

Took a cruise through Kagel Canyon and Shadow Hills today on my way back from the brake shop and odly the fire didn’t wipe out whole whole sections of homes but it would pick one or two and the rest of the neighborhood would be fine...???...
...Many out of the area fire departments still patrolling those areas...San Fransisco...Nevada City...Somthing like Redwood Beach???...Reno...etc...
...Lapd and LA County Sherriff has units stationed throughout these areas...unfortunately I guess there are scumbag looters that if given a chance would steal the evacuees shit...???...
