...Don’t have many details but anybody up that way may want to prepare for evacuation...it looks like a big one...40-60 mph winds...
78 wow, I live mid valley in Simi and would not be surprised if we have had a dozen 60mph plus gusts since 4am, I can't imagine what it is in the Santa Susana pass probably close to 80 as well78 MPH wind gusts in Sylmar - friends along Gavina Road are evacuating

This, that Tujunga fire will burn through Porter Ranch into Simi and Calabasas on its way to the Pacific Ocean, and it will do all that by tomorrow morning if these winds keep blowing like this.Be safe and prepared to move fast Shintoooo
Hope everyone stays safe

I live in the middle of the valley on the east end of Simi, am going to be cleaning my gutters this morning, especially now that all the leaves are out of the trees.

Tujunga (Creek Fire) through Porter Ranch into Simi and Calabasas to the Pacific Ocean would be catastrophic - beyond belief - rivaling this year's Wine Country fires. Very unlikely but anything's possible especially in these winds.
I was on the Wright fire..............that was a FAST moving SOBWhat your saying sounds a lot like what happened in 1970 with the merging of The Clampitt (Newhall) and Wright (Malibu) fires.
Several years ago a fire started on the east side of Porter Ranch 45min later it was at Topanga cyn. My scenario did happen in 83 burned to the 101 in Calabasas and to the what is now the 23 in Moorpark that fire started behind Porter Ranch, it did that in something like 30hrs.
Be safeWorking it...Shit's CRAAAAAAAZY
Thought you lived in Northridge? That looks like bell or far end of box.
Working ventura fire...Shit's CRAAAAAAAZY
Just read a special weather statement saying Relative Humidity Minimum 4 to 12 percent with poor overnight recovery and wind gust up to 60 MPH and up to 80 mph in the mountain areas going into Thursday. JFYI

Sad for your parents. To anyone nearby, please have a bag of essential items ready and a plan of action to evacuate if needed. My parents lost their house overnight in Ventura, above Foothill Rd.
If you’ve been watching the news coverage you likely saw it fully engulfed or smoldering this morning.
They had under 5 min from the time they woke up until pulling out of driveway. Just the family pet, clothes they threw on....and of course my Dad’s golf clubs lol
Stuff is all replaceable but tough to experience. Thoughts are with those families who’ve lost their homes and the brave men & women doing what they can to protect what’s left.
