Of the limited involvement I may have had in those circles, I don't know the hierarchy past those.

Buddy and I rippin up the pavement in his 68' Convertible Vette, returning to CA burned out to the max after a three day Vegas binge trip decided we need a stop to re-fresh, decompress.
My buddy's bro-in-law who was a big cheese at the Nevada Nuke test site had given us directions to this "Ranch" where we could stop for a drink. Seems a lot of the nuke nerds went here for decompression relief.
The young lady who was put in charge of my entertainment explained how "The Girls" lived here a few days working, using the extremely lucrative income to finance their college educations.
So, yeah, The Brains + the Looks === Great Potential for continuing success and reaping it's rewards.

Way better than my Designated Driver Strippers in the Danger Zone story. Gentlemen's Club in DT Baltimore. You know it's a nice Strip Club because they have an Attendant in the Men's room. Not sure about the Ladies. Best looking Gal in there was the Bartender I talked with all night drinking free Cokes. She confirms Mr. T's account. Impressive answer to the Teacher's question, "Where do you see yourself in 5, 10 years?" Indeed. Wow. "Gotta Go!"

All of a sudden I was given the signal by Mr. Street Smart to bring the Minivan around. Stat! Despite the protestations of the entire group, Mr. Married Minivan had repeatedly withdrawn hundreds from the ATM, and was being coerced down the wrong Road as a prospective Client by a Capitalistic Lady of the Night who thought sure She had a Live One hooked on the Line. Street Smart had sniffed out the Evil, went in busted up the soon to be Party, rescued MM, and were hastily retreating. Night Lady had hours invested, and She was PISSED!!!

I pulled up as She was chasing Skunk drunk MM being drug by SS out the door, snatching his favorite hat off of his head as we piled into the soon to be unfaithful Dodge Caravan. SS pushing MM in like the SS loading up a wounded President! I hit the gas and we sped off. Boy that was close. However.
The getaway was not without incident, as within blocks, the Dodge suffered a mechanical failure, the Transmission wouldn't upshift beyond 2nd gear.

"Dude, Your Van's messed up" MM, "Shit." SS, "See, that's Karma Bro, you should've listened." Story gets better. Long week back East. Car goes to shop. Who you gonna call for the ride home? Mrs. Minivan. Overhead at breakfast later on that really, really, loong week. "Where's your favorite hat, Honey?''

In late 71' after being transferred to Facility Engineers Frankfurt following the decommissioning of our boat battalion in Nam, I spent Christmas Eve in a legal, huge and amazing Frankfurt Brothel where you could tour the entire world and never leave that building.

Some interviews had been released from the prison where most of the Azovstal POW's were being held. It's near Donetsk. Some of the more outrageous ones were put up by the Russian media, where the guys had obvious Azov ink. Some of them admitted to targeting civilians.

Friday there was a missle strike on the prison. It looks as if the AFU "accidentally" struck the prison with their own troops...
Rumors are it was to keep them quiet, or maybe scare acting troops into not surrendering.

On a different note, outside soldiers if fighting for AFU are being offered 2k a month or so. It's rumored that combat type independent contractors though, can make that in a day.

Seems to be the same thing, but a different war. My friend found out he had 2 kids, from different moms. I believe he met them both when they were in their teens. He's pretty close with them, and their families now.

I'd gather it took more than a decade of ups and downs, but he's good now. Inked up, and scary as hell looking, but a changed man. He does veterans' charity stuff now in his off time. Staying busy seems to be the key, at least for him.

I've known him over 35 years, since second grade. They say war changes people. Acts of war are committed frequently, but not many "wars" on the TV. I know the things that stay in my head, and keep me awake at night. I know without doubt, those images are nothing compared to what lay in the corners of some soldiers' minds.
