How did he get all the guns to his room without notice?

Big suitcase, plus the guys has been there for a few days could have brought a few up each trip to the room.

An AR with a collapsible butt stock will be around 30" as will an AK with an under folder.

Likely luggage duffle bags...never think twice with people walking in and out of casino's with luggage....likely will be metal detectors and dogs that sniff for ammo, gun powder in the future...

You go to other countries that have terrorist attacks they check all vehicles coming/going...and you go through metal detectors entering nice hotels...unfortunate but Vegas will change as result. Dreadful...

Hard to tell as I'm sure the sound was echoing off the surrounding buildings but sounds like something much bigger than a 30 round mag....I" was thinking a bigger round than a .223/.556

So sad....Godspeed to all the victims I think we all know someone directly/indirectly that was there or affected by this tragedy :(

I was gonna say I sure hope you are wrong, but then I sent a text to my friend in Vegas...

Her son just went off to college last year, but seven of his friends were at the concert. All seven were hit. All seven will survive. Lord knows if they will ever be ok.

:(:(

The shooter was pretty far away. I imagine the sound we're hearing in the videos after they've been compressed from the download is probably just rounds that are breaking the sound barrier and not the gun cycling.

Not many people have lived or shot video from this point of view so probably why it sounds so unique.

Makes sense. I've never heard any of my guns from the barrel end...although I do know what a 357 mag sounds like from the wrong end...sounded like a howitzer.

This shit does not add up to me.

How in the fuck was this guy able to fire rounds off for so long without police or security busting in his room? Those casinos and hotels have security up the ass and police present. You mean to tell me shots were heard all the way from Excalibur but, guests on the same floor didn't hear any shots and report where it was coming from sooner? What the fuck?

I've had security to my room faster than that for mere noise complaints from partying too loud.

I talked with a friend last night who just got back to his room 5 minutes before it all started (called me at 11:30PM last night after I texted him to see if he was good). He was on the 14th floor, same tower as shooter. He was looking out his window at the concert when gunfire started. He is a gun guy, works in the gun industry, he thought the guy was in the room a few floors above him. Said he knew it was coming from a hotel room but wasn't sure what floor. I think with the echoing and two position posts he had made it very hard to tell where it was all coming from. I don't think anybody imagined it was coming from that high up. LEO friends on the ground said it took a while to realize he was posted high up but had no clue where, felt like bullets coming from every direction.

If you were a guest on that floor, you'd know you're close and would be able to get someone up there quick.

Have any pics of the guys dead body in the room been released?

I think they figured it out quick because the smoke detectors in the room went off.

Big ass rolling suitcase? Golf bag?

I am sure they will check the videos. That is a lot of trips to the car. I thought maybe he carried in numerous gun cases which might not be a issue.

I don't think it's a conspiracy. You have to imagine absolute chaos and reports of multiple shooters in different locations. Trying to distinguish what is accurate and what isn't in a very short amount of time is a skill in itself. This isn't like the movies.

The swat team isn't just walking down the street like they have no care in the world. They're methodical and precise. Once they've pinpointed the location they have to then put together a team and a strategy so they too go home to their loved ones. They have no idea if it's a hostage situation, room is booby trapped, etc... This shit is real life with real lives at stake and you're not going to jeopardize any more innocent lives than you have to.

I think the swat team did an incredible job responding and breaching the door like they did considering the situation. I couldn't imagine keeping my composure in a sea of chaos. Rifle rounds going off indoors is extremely disorienting and then the thick smell and smoke from that much gun powder is insane.

Some of the memes, IG posts, etc making fun of the incident, country music and republicans makes me sick.

If the type of jokes were made about the gays who were shot in Florida, Rosie O'Donnell, Janeane Garofalo and Sean Penn would be on CNN right now demanding justice. :thumbsdown

Agreed. The MGM was chaos and those people had been running for 10 mins after leaving the venue. The word in the Casino was there was a shooter in the parking garage with automatic weapons.

I am super impressed with Las Vegas' response to this incident.

Glad your friend is ok.

The two positions seem very spread apart. Hard to imagine the guy running back and forth with weapons without being seen.

Prayers for al the victims and their families. Thanks to all the first responders and good Samaritans at the scene. The numerous early erroneous posted here on RDP were very unfortunate. Guess some just want to be the announcer of news. Like many here, we also had friends there. Thank God they are OK.
they just repeating what was being said on the police radios. i heard all those same erroneous reports being said by police/first responders on the scanner as well.
Precisely. I had a fair amount of family and friends there and I knew there would be many in the same situation or worse as myself on here and I wanted to share everything I could as I was hearing it. I tried to edit posts when reports were debunked but if you listened to the scanner, they were coming in in droves and taking a while to verify their validity or not.

I think that could have been the gaps in the firing.

I believe that is all 1 suite at the end of the tower like that, so he was just running around within his room.

I read somewhere that it was a suite.

It could have wrapped the entire corner of the building.

It is being reported that the guy was a pretty high roller at the casino and they comp him suites. Also reported he had both suites sided by side which explains all the windows.

He was in a corner suite....

This was planned in advance. He probably had guns at both windows with mags ready for reloading. This wasn't just some dude that had a bad day and decided to climb the clock tower because someone was mean to him.

We will find this was planned months and months ago and he was familiar with the hotel and the concert venue......No idea what motive one could have to shoot a bunch of strangers....it smells of terrorism

As far as getting 10 guns up to the room....Easy my wife travels with a bag that is big enough to easily transport 10 broken down ar's or folded AK's and she has no problem wheeling that shit to an elevator and getting it to a room.

I'd imagine in a couple suitcases or duffel bags. I've personally never been stopped in Vegas to have my baggage checked.
I agree. Do you know how many take-down, 16" barreled M4's I could get into a large suitcase? A shitload!

Every time something like this happens, it is used to threaten gun rights. It's obvious our own government is enemy #1 when it comes to the 2nd Amendment. This makes me wonder if the motives for these attacks and those who carry them out have an inside connection to the government agenda to ban guns.

I understand it's a wild thought for some to even consider, but it makes me wonder.

I'm not much for conspiracy theories.

Bad people do bad shit and unfortunately depending on the side you play for is how you will swing it......This absolutely won't be good for gun rights but it's strange that this guy attacked a mostly republican/pro gun venue....weird

Bizarre that a "regular joe" lost it and wanted to kill 100 people at a country music festival. Usually they just take out there boss and the hot receptionist that ignored them.

I have pondered that same thought a few times as well. Specially after the Sandy Hook tragedy. The motivations they note about these events just seem a little thin.

Bizarre exactly. It would make more sense to me that it was a CIA agent doing what he was told. Whether or not you believe in conspiracy theories, there is no denying that our government does a lot of fucked up shit.

For the record, I'm not stating this to be the case, but it makes me wonder what the real motive was and if anyone else was behind it.

I agree with you. They do seem thin. Why no pictures of the room or of the shooters dead body? Just like when Bin Laden was captured. No pictures of the body were ever released and they rushed him off to the middle of the ocean to dispose of the body. Why? Are we being lied to? I don't think Americans question what they're told by the media/gov enough or call them out on missing puzzle pieces to their stories.

RIP to the dead, Condolences to the friends and families and prayers for the physical and emotional repair/recovery of everyone else.

The shithead politicians who are puking their anti-gun talking points are completely off base here. These weapons (based on preliminary reports) are likely ALREADY ILLEGAL to own and are rare to purchase. If the suspect altered them, well, they are STILL ILLEGAL ALREADY! Oh, and bye the way, I am pretty sure MASS MURDER is ALREADY ILLEGAL!

So, Hildabeast, Bloomberg et al, what laws do you want to pass to make illegal things and behavior MORE ILLEGAL? Really?:finger

How about getting your fellow lib's off THEIR asses and pass some meaningful mental health legislation/help? HUH? :grumble:

I'm thinking so.
I'm thinking this ANTIFA connection is likely pretty strong. Apparently last week they called to all members to stock pile arms and begin a civil war specifically targeting police and republicans. Then this happens just days later....... seems too well matched to be coinsedence.

I'm sure more will come out. Simply horrific and I cannot seem to stop reading information about it. I just cannot fathom the amount of hate someone could have to do something like this. My thoughts, prayers and condolences are out to everyone involved.

http://ktla.com/2017/10/02/stephen-...ce-on-fbis-ten-most-wanted-list-brother-says/

“He was a wealthy guy playing video poker… on cruises,” he said, adding that his brother could afford anything he wanted and played $100-a-hand poker.

Their father was a well-known bank robber and at one point was on the FBI’s 10 most wanted list, he said. Their father died a few years ago.

Struggling to focus this morning.

Both of my sisters, their husbands, my niece and her boyfriend were there. One of my BIL's was shot twice while covering my sister. Thankfully he's going to be ok. My other BIL was knocked down and trampled, just bumps and bruises. Again Thankful! This is going to be a long road to get thru this, both physically and mentally for ALL who were there.

My thoughts are with all who were there and their loved ones. And RIP to the ones that didn't make it.

Most of their members are white that I've seen. Age won't matter much for someone that feels the same as their twisted views.

Well none of it quite adds up yet so who knows. I'm sure his GF knows something. This guy didn't go plan this, buy a bunch of guns and rent a room after his GF leaves the country with her being clueless.

I agree. That call to arms, the timing of both, and the kind and type of people that frequent a concert like this just seems like WAY too much of a coinsedence.

Have authorities reported when she had left the country yet?

yeah....so weird..... Liberal with guns that has lived in Texas, Florida and Nevada that has a pilots license.

How soon before we have a situation where someones family was kidnapped and held hostage forcing a typically good person to commit an act like this.

If this was a terrorist deal they could have easily had many more shooters in this room as well as other rooms or hotels all shooting at the festival.

They just reported the shooters dad was a criminal, and was in prison in the 60s, and also might have been schizophrenic and bipolar.

Perhaps an alcoholic with huge gambling debts at the mandalay?

Girlfriend just found out and she is booting him from the house?

terminal disease?

Who knows it's all just speculation but nothing really adds up yet.

In the wake of this horrific mass killing you can help by simply donating blood. I urge you to contact your local Red Cross ( https://www.redcross.org/) to help save a life.

There is also a blood drive taking place this coming Thursday at The San Antonio Regional Hospital in Upland from 7am to 7pm. There located at 999 San Bernardino Rd, Upland, CA. (909) 985-2811
