Everywhere else in the country they have dock hands to help you with your boat, fuel the boat etc.. usually kids just out of high school or in college

You know why? Because people everywhere else in the country aren’t dicks. They help each other, theres not people sitting there at a place like site six heckling people. There’s college kids looking to earn a buck.

Have fun Buddy. I lived in Appleton for all of 2013, I know where all those places you're posting are.

P.S The privately owned Gas Station food, especially the Curds, are insane good. NOM NOM NOM

Gas station food in this part of the world is not to be dismissed. There is a Carne Asada place in the station close to my house that is legit.

And Mr Johnson has been returned to the airport intact. Somehow managed to survive his experience behind the cheddar curtain. :D

Thanks to you and RD for sharing this weekends travels and pics with the group.
thumbs up.png

Curious, the water color, is this from the leaves dropping and decomposing ? Reminds me of some of the Florida swamp water, crystal clear but stained a similar color.

Edit -- also meant to ask, anything in your rivers that bites ? Like the snapping turtles I found in some lakes out east ? I recall some in a lake in New York many years ago.

Its stained from the tamarack swamps up river. Tannic acid in the water.

I enjoy the heck out of sharing this stuff. As much grief as I get for dealing with the winter months, I feel you guys are starting to understand why I put up with the snow up to my balls, and cold that'll make your eyes freeze open. Lolol...

I've said this quite a few times here.
It's not wrong. It just different. ;)

Happy Sunday RDP. :)

Yes they do have snapping turtles, and the lakes are absolutely full of life. Beavers, otters, fish cruising along the surface etc..

I never saw a snapping turtle but they wouldn’t really be at the sandbars we were hanging out at because there was a few people around.

These all look like very large lakes and rivers.... all of the shore line vies are astonishing.....

This lake goes into that river which turns into that lake which goes over too.. lol.

We did over a 100 miles one day and could have gone further.

Some of the lakes are smaller like Havasu, but it’s whatever you want to do.
