It was packed out there. With the construction going we were stopped with about 50 cars in front of me for about 5 mins. Once we cleared the construction area. I passed all 50. Stayed in left lane for over 7 miles and was going about 105 in my super duty. Another super duty with Oregon plates was in front of me and we caught the next group in front of us with about 40 cars. Passed all of them too. Never seen so many cars on rice road for a non holiday Thursday night

In this heat I back it way off, especially when running heavy.

Passing 50 cars going the wrong way is one thing, but following someone while doing it is the real danger. He can pull to the right at the last minute and the last thing you will see is headlights.

will agree with you there. I was 1/2 mile or so behind him the whole time. He (other super duty with Oregon plates) was also running 100+

This line wasn’t passing. I first sat in back for a bit to see if they would pass and nope not a damn car would even peek. So I saw my opportunity and took it.

Sling shot engage. I think it’s more dangerous to be near all those cars than speeding in the left lane.

You guys are pretty high and mighty lol. Moral of the story is go a different route so I don’t have to pass you

I always read these threads and say = ‘you do you, I will do me’
That said, if I was in the right lane and you passed and things went sideways I am not stopping to help.

My FIL tells everyone he skis with = Please wear a helmet. Not for you, but for me. I don’t want my day ruined when you crash and hurt your head. If you decide not to wear one, I will decide not to help.

What did you do with the extra 11 minutes when you got to the river?

I was going from Prescott to Havasu Monday. This guy coming the other way in an oil burning GMC 6.2 doing 90+, damn near blew me off the road 😁

Wow. That there’s something to brag about. Your wife & kids must love that.

You should look into racing Nascar. I catch it when Larry has it on and I’ve never seen any of them pass 50 cars . . . and they’re doing
200+ m.p.h. aren’t they? You might be able to show them something.

There’s no f’ing way you weren’t over a double yellow at some point in that.

Just like the mother f*cker who killed our friend on Rice Road. 🖕🏼

That’s right up there with if you don’t wear a mask you shouldn’t get health care 🤣

What a callous and selfish way to approach life.

Again if YOU don’t like rice road there are several other options for YOU. That leaves me less cars to pass

For those of you saying my wife hates that. You must not know my wife. She was telling me pass them and don’t sit behind them. She has no problem putting her foot to the floor and passing people too

Hell no.
You make your own decisions, live with those consequences. It is my decision if I help or not.
If I see you doing something most would call irresponsible, that does not mean I need to help you.

My FIL rule makes sense. We had a new snowboarder in the group (second day on slopes after lessons). FIL was sponsoring his weekend, FIL paid for helmet and asked he wear the helmet while boarding UNTIL he had better control. Individual decided to take it off first chance he got. Within minutes he knocked himself out when he crashed. Individual was taken off hill and right into ambulance and straight to hospital. Individual spent 3 days in hospital. FIL spent two days with him before his parents arrived instead of on slopes with his grandkids that he only sees twice a year. After that weekend, the FIL helmet rule went into effect. 100% agree with it.

My boy was on that road lastnight with all 3 of my grandkids.😡
.
My BPisRacing.
Good!!! I’m sure they were perfectly safe as I’m sure you taught your boy how to drive defensively and pay attention to what’s going on all around him right? I’m sure of it.

Are you saying I need to wear a helmet while driving rice road?

There is no way you passed 40+ cars without going into a no passing zone.
why someone would brag about it, makes zero sense to me

Back when the Rice Post office, gas station, and store were still open my Sister was River bound in her new '72 Datsun pickup, all good until just past Rice, some dummy U-turned in front of her. Not fun.

Yes :)
So when you crash you might get saved.
I am not stopping for anyone that pulls a BS move like that on rice.

BS move like an overloaded truck? Crash or have a problem towing more than you should? Tire blowout? You are on yore own.

Not wearing a jacket? Go drown over there. You aren’t ruining my day, I’m not helping with that BS move. 😂.

Sure it is. Only takes a couple of min. There are stretches of 10 miles of dotted yellow

Rice Rd is just fine, it's the idiots that drive like selfish assholes that make it dangerous.

Ehhh this thread is getting a little wild. Let the man do as he pleases. Should be a good topic of conversation for anyone at the McRaft up.

He might even be there so other River Karen’s members can give him a piece of their mind in person.

He values his skills, not his time.

More likely it’s someone else’s lack of skills that puts you in a bind when you are doing 100 mph in the Rice rd whoops.
That’s the part you have no control over.

Years ago coming back, on the curve after the RR crossing there was a truck with an empty trailer pulled off the south side, and a daycruiser stuffed into a sand hill many many yards off the road. Sad looking bunch there.
