I don't know what you are talking about "the fireworks". There were no fireworks off the back of a shockwave. [emoji12]

I took some pics, I'll send them to RD tonight when I get home. SJP's wife was taking pics too.

RD has all the pics I took with my iPhone. Here are a couple from that group, RDPeeing, and the Topock Bridge at sunset.

Couldn't you guys at least pretend it sucked for the rest of us that couldn't make it.

The food was horrible, the weather sucked, you got lost or even worse tell everyone you ran out of beer:D

I'm thinking about doing this again next month

We had the same thoughts... We were talking about why we don't do that EVERY full moon...

I don't necessarily need be at Del Taco at 4am ...But our group is no stranger to midnight on the water....

Good times were had...And Iam pretty sure the next midnight run will have a way better firework show...

Wednesday 6 September is the next full moon, rises at 7:30pm. I would also expect the river to be lower than this last weekend.

Yeah I was kinda bummed that a lot of guys took off in between beer stop one and the sand bar.. I understand that it gets pretty late... but look at the other thread in the lounge right now with the bad boat accident deal. Even when people think they can see they can't.. there's all kinds of shit out there at night, boats with no lights (hell we were one of them on the way home and the electrical failed in the pontoon!). Kayaks, etc..

My thoughts are always slow down and enjoy the party. But I'm perfectly cool with getting home at 3/4 am. Lol.

On the upside everyone in our group made it home safe, and Topock was an absolute blast!! Cruising back at night with everyone and hitting the various stops was honestly probably the highlight of my summer this year.. night runs truly are the best! Even if they can be a little sketchy at times.. lol. That's part of the adventure. :D

I can't Wait to see the drone video!!

Having the little ones with us we left just as the RD barge was rolling in. I only got to meet USMC and his better half. I crused about 25-30ish and stopped at the reeds at the end of the gorge for a pee/beer break. Ran up on the sand bar just as the clouds blocked the moon and got a little disorientated and ran in between two booeys (sp) and realized I was going into the sand bar. I backed off the throttle right away and my drive hit the bottom...scared the shit out of me. :yikes
Gathered my surroundings, trimmed it up, back on course at a slower pace until we reached the lake. Rolled in about 9:30 and thanked god we had a safe trip!

I couldn't see dick, I was just hoping to live, too fast in the dark for me. . .

I can't stress enough how strongly I believe people shouldn't go fast at night. Even when you think you can see you can't. That's how things like Sunday night happen. If you go slow the odds of making it home increase to about 100%.. If you go fast they exponentially decrease. I would hate to have someone go up for good times and dinner, and then not come home. :(

It was darker that what I would have expected as well.

Stacy and I have done this several times with virtually no moon. We never so much as come off idle on the way home though when it's that dark out.

We had a blast, huge thanks to TrojanDan for the lift. The food was so good, I ordered two lobsters and it was worth every penny. Wish I had ordered four lol!!

Yes, holy hang overs batman. We got home at 3:40. BEAT! But the stops at the sandbars were the best thing since the old parker days.

Great event, the second one is never as good as the first one. Plus in the next month at 3am it will be cold on the water. It was almost cold standing at the last sandbar. That said, if there is another one I'm in!!! Just way less :drink

What a great night!! We came down from Needles and floated thru the gorge at sunset before heading to dinner. The food was excellent and the ride back up river could not have been more beautiful! We will make this run a couple more times this season for sure.

Going to be tough to top this run. My eyes adjust really well on the water at night, especially with the full moon. I also had the Waze app up in front of me the whole way. It was a lot easier navigating the river than I thought.

Joe after you told me that on the first stop i tried to use the navigation on my Vessel View. Problem was it was so bright being in the dark it fucked my actual vision up. I could have navigated by the display but was scared out of my mind so i shut it off haha. Almost went blind

Yeah, we had to turn down the whip light because it was too bright. Check with Merc and see if maybe there is a night time setting for it. The Waze app basically turns dark so looking at the phone worked great.
