I didn’t have a GoPro with me but we put a drone up and then flew a couple feet off the water and up to the back of the boat to try and get a look but there’s so much water / mist flying around it’s hard to see..

So we just ditch the mufflers.. I wanted em gone anyways and the likelyhood that it’s causing the issue is pretty high.

We haven’t dived into the tach and speedo issues yet but that’s next.. I’ll freely admit it would make life a lot easier for trouble shooting with two tachs.. but this is so obvious it is pretty easy to feel.

You would really need a fixed mount camera to do this test. You would have pics of them closed at idle and also open at high rpm and could compare since the camera angle doesn't change. Hopefully in a full pull you would have one frame where you could see them clearly with out mist. Might have to play with different mounting spots if exhaust is underwater or mist is a big problem.

But of course all this is moot if you are going to change the tips anyways, just helps in trouble shooting. Now the real question is do you go back to stock props to test or test with the new current props. They probably had it proped right or close when everything is fully working, might want to go back to stock to see if the new exhaust tips solved the problem.

Prop technology has changed a ton since this boat was built.. it needs large diameter five blades anyways to get on plane better

I assume you tried removing the screws around the outside edge of those mufflers? I would think the guts would just slide out.

It probably is turning slightly slower, but it’s still making power so it wouldn’t be by much.. I dunno without two tachs ya can’t tell. lol. The power being delivered in the port side though is creating more lift.

I assumed it had a tach for each engine.. Lol. I didn’t know that wasn’t typical. That would make it a bit tougher to diagnose for sure.

I say give it some more Stbd throttle and call it a day 👍🤣

It has 2 tachs, one has an issue, than needs to be addressed.

I’d rather use my phone gps.. right now I went out by myself and it’s hard to hold the phone take the screen shot / take the picture etc..

I’m battling a couple problems on the gauges as well. The left tach has a ground problem so it’s all over the place.. and the gps keeps dropping to zero, then 30, then back to reading right..

Absolute speed and marine is going to be on that and a water pump problem next week.
