That thing is moving for a heavy deck like that one is. Another stunner by Nordic.

Impressive, but I think a single IO with the same HP , maybe a Merc 850 , might be faster ?

I would like to see how the 450's push a deck boat loaded up with people and coolers. See what kind of torque these 450's really have.

I would too! I got hurt right before the 450 release. I have only been in one 450 boat late last year and it was a twin 450 toon.

this is where speed and motor sizes are changing things.
You used to have a top speed of 80mph to cruise at 60mph. So you wouldnt hurt the inboard over time. Basically not go 60mph wide open all the time with your huge motor.
Now, these merc's can be help wide open forever. The 29 deck is about a 80mph MAX top speed for me
You can now put two 350s on this boat and hold it wide open, no problems and cruise

At 107 in that windy boat with your one good eye that still can see you spot the the big lumbering wake surf boat doing 10 MPH then....

We hit the Tecopa wake at 60-70ish in the Eticket. I wish i had the video on my new phone. Really wasn’t that scary.

I have run through the Tecopa wake many times. It puts out more of a wide roller, while some of the wake boat waves I have hit have been very steep. Huge difference in the way it feels going across them at speed.

My dad had a 29 nordic deck with a 1150 pro marine motor and we saw 109 in January. June was like 104 with 3/4 tanks and 2 people

29 Nordic is a big boat with big tunnels etc.. I don’t think a wake boat is going to trip it up much.. I have quite a few pretty funny stories about the rough water abilities of them.

I agree, Thane definitely design that boat to handle big water. I have been out in the 26 foot version and was thoroughly impressed in two and three of chop

Good and useful info about handling big swells/wakes. I always assumed deck boats and even open bows would be easier to stuff a sponson.

There are tradeoffs to everything. The Nordic is better in big water because it has deeper tunnels and larger sponsons, but the sponsons are also "sharper" than most traditional decks, so they lose speed quickly with people in the front of them. Each one of the West Coast Decks has their pro's and cons and it really depends on what suits you as the buyer, and how you are going to use the boat.

I'd buy a Nordic any day of the week for my family. Absolutely great boats.

Thanks, that's why I love this site. Nordic just moved higher up my list. I would like some room up front for when family/friends are out, also like the Eliminator Speedster 27 open bow twin 300r idea.

Do people who record like that have their tv's mounted sideways on the wall in their living room? Very strange...
