Anyone ever notice how people are naming dogs traditional people names, and naming children dog names? Mine are Francis, and Roslyn, but my kids are Evan and Olivia. Still traditional names.

My cousin named his daughter Bailey. Pretty sure someone has a dog named Bailey.

After losing our dachshund this spring we kind of inherited this little mutt. She hates thunder and lightning so is half hiding with her toy

A few months ago I had to say goodbye to my big boy Maxx. He was my all black Akita. Such an amazing pup. He was the best buddy , and big brother. He was a natural guardian and very gentle with smaller dogs and kids. I really miss him, and couldn’t even bring myself to write this earlier. My other boy Rexx, is very lonely, so just this week we decided to get him a brother. Here are a few pics of Maxx. He sure is missed

Sorry to hear about your boy. I literally dread the day I have to say goodbye to mine every. single. day. I'm sure it's not healthy, but it is what it is.

Akitas are awesome dogs. Fiercely loyal to the family, but also insanely gentle with them. My ex had two and her pops would tell me stories of how protective they were of the family, definitely saw that firsthand on my first visits, but also how they treated his girls growing up. Toddlers are toddlers and they'd climb on em, pull their hair, and even on occasion step or pull on their junk. The dog would yelp, but never came close to harming the girls.

You described the Akita to the T. Beautiful pups ! It always seems so unfair that dogs don’t live longer. There has been some great stories on why. I, just like you, appreciate every day with them. My wife and I always say talk about how much Joy they bring to our lives.

Love seeing everyones Buddy's, we took a few years off from having a dog due to adopting older rescues and losing 3 in 7 years, it just breaks your heart.

We adopted Huck from the member Community on here and it's great having that unconditional love in the home again.

He's a character for sure.

Spent the last week at my sister’s while I was finishing the move out of our house. Her wire haired and curly wire haired daschunds took a while to warm up to me, then they were my pals.

Stella can sit pretty and beg forever. Ule, not so much. They bring her great joy, and the weiner jokes are never ending.

This is all I’ll ever have for nieces and nephews, so I spoil them.

@707dog you guys seem like some raider people I could get along with!
Nice looking pup! I just bred my boy. Waiting on that litter and we have another litter we are waiting on for a female pup back to run captain to.
This is the sire to the female we are waiting on.

Didn't see the 9month old yesterday. The breeder didn't contact me until 9pm. Border is already busy, so don't think I'll run across today. Got to think about it. This male has been shown a few times and is highly rated. He's $6k. A little more then the $3,500 I was expecting to pay for a puppy.

At 9 months that breeder should be cutting a serious deal on the price or they have plans to use the pup later on so not really tripping on getting rid of it. Thats how I scored my new bully he is 5 months and they have 2 litters dropping in the next 2 months he had to go.

He's a show dog and has won a few shows as a puppy in California and Texas. I'm passing found a better priced puppy option.

I don't want to drag a thread down, but our little old Max lost an eye on Saturday. He had some type of ulcer that we were trying to treat with meds, but it was unsuccessful.

You can see the damn thing was getting ready to pop out of his head

So the wife calls me and says the Vet wants to go ahead and take it, she sat in and assisted on the surgery. He came home yesterday, and besides being a little whiney he's back to normal. We think it was causing him a lot of pain, because it's business as usual, well except I call him Jack now. He's deaf so it really doesn't matter.
