My Mina passed over the rainbow bridge yesterday. We unfortunately had to rehome her several years ago due to some aggression issues as she got older, but she was undoubtedly one of the best dogs ever. Her new owner gave her a great life and I know she was happy. But it still brings tears to my eyes. She was only 7 years old

Here are our two Goldens. They're so mistreated! 🤣

Believe it or not, this picture was not staged! My wife was lying in bed watching TV and they crawled right up on her lap. She snapped this picture before they realized what she was doing. ❤️

Thank you!

The older Golden named "Layla" came from a breeder out in the Temecula area. The younger Golden named "Alani" is from someone in Glendora. We got both at around 8 weeks and they've been a treasure. My wife wants more but I had to put my foot down.

Interesting enough, she just showed me an Instagram post where somebody was looking to re-home a pair of male 2 year olds who were displaced during the Eaton Fire. I'm sure they're already taken as they were beautiful.

Thank you...we love our Olive. We also have an older Black Lab and an older Maltipoo. Eventually We will be looking for another Golden.

We had to put down our 15+ year old dog the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, she was full grown when she found us so no idea how old she was. Anyhow we have been talking about getting another dog. I told the wife that the only way is a rescue dog from a shelter or pound or whatever. She agreed and then went and followed a few different places on social media. One guy came up and she showed me and told me all about him. Then a few weeks went by and he was still available. So Sunday we made the 90 mile trip to meet and well he came home with us. Ryeder, he came with the name and spelling, he is just over a year old. He laid on my wife the entire way home, so I think road trips are a go for him. Which is good because we plan on taking him to the river and the desert with us. So far so good in the whole 2 days we have had him.

Congrats! Another husky family. Best dogs I’ve ever had, even though they are high maintenance.

At the local hardware store today I got approached by a 130LB Rottie.....petted him and all was good. I got a kick out of that. Others kept their distance....lol

I look forward to seeing this thread more than any other on RDP.

Pups are true and honest as opposed to peeps with their hidden agendas.

Keep posting up peeps....

Xena is getting huge. Head is bigger by the day and her legs are like tree trunks. No fat on this one...all muscles. Thankfully she still and hopefully will continue to defer to the queen Phx.

She is about 9.5 months or so and is approaching 90lbs.

Love and respect this pup. She has a good spirit but doesnt realize her strength

Just busted her a 1/2 hour ago....she ate about 6 Coc Chip cookies she got off the counter.

Scolded her and she knew she was in the wrong.

Come back in 15 min later and she ate the package of hawaiian rolls on the counter.

WTF!

Lol

They are some bad ass protectors when needed. Great looking pup.

Stubborn?

I'm not sure how he would react yet if he needed to do some protectin. My girlfriend spoils the shit out of him. Tucks him into bed everynight etc. It drives me nuts but whatever. He is a little stubborn but not bad at all he just needed to realize I am above him in the food chain lol.

So, we lost our PUP last fall - we were waiting until about now to start looking.

Visited the shelter and met this guy last night. We're waiting until the shelter opens to go pick him up later today, assuming he's still there.... First come, first serve.

Breed - Terrier, American Pit Bull / Retriever, Black Labrador
Sex - Male
Weight - 38 lbs

Hopefully a little less bitey / guardish than our last one. (Abused) She could be a mean m'fer!
Good luck....as you know you many times don't see that for a while. When you do the pup is always entrenched in the family. I try to never "rough" up a pup that has any "perceived" aggression in the breed. It has turned out well for me for the most part. You have been there and done that it seems.

I got a list - going to whittle it down then pick from a hat. I just can't see myself yelling "Casper, caaaasper!" out the back door!

Yes - they come with vaccinations, fixed and chipped for a $250 donation. Really well run animal shelter, my wife volunteers for them occasionally.

Meet "Ziggy" - he's starting to acclimate quite well, first night at our house, and takes well to the crate. Slept through the night with no whining (impressive), he's a sweetheart. Only two issues so far - somewhat bitey/nippy with the hands (wants to play), and he's jumping up on us which we will not tolerate.

Have a checkout this coming Wednesday with our trainer, will start leash training this weekend (by us).

Hoping he takes well to direction. Sits, lays down, extremely food motivated, was also playing fetch with him in the basement. I think this will be an easier train that our last one, and more sociable.

He's a pretty stout little guy @ 40lbs / 5mo. Muscle. Hoping he gets to around 65 lbs, would be a good manageable size and be able to do the boating still.
