I have been cancer free for a year now. I had to do the prostatectomy. I would not trust any doctors here in Havasu. I went to Scottsdale and very happy with the care I received.

my dad was diagnosed at 64 with an advanced case they gave him 2 years he made 3 this was in 92 when he passed at 67, they used to say that prostate cancer was not hereditary but that opinion may have changed ... i think it can be, i have limited male linage on my dads side but he got it his 1st cousin had it my only male first cousin on my dads side has it, my first cousin on my moms side his father had it (no relation) and he was recently diagnosed and underwent surgery . i guess what i am trying to say is DON'T FUCK AROUND WITH THIS Disease if it gets out of control its an ugly death i have a psa at 2 take finasteride and see my doctor every 6 months even when he wants to see me in a year i know treatment has advanced a lot since 1992 but i am not taking any chance's with this ....... go to the best doctor you can find ...... this thread would be good for doctor referals

How often do you get tested?

The last time my PSA was tested was in 2021, I was at 2.9 Back In 2014 I was at 1.4

under 4.5 is "normal" for my age (64) per the information given to me.

AGE-RELATED PSA NORMAL VALUES ---AGE--- ---NORMAL VALUE--- (YEARS) (ng/mL) --------- ------------------ Age 49 OR LESS, LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 2.5 Age 50 - 59 LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 3.5 Age 60 - 69 LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 4.5 Age 70 OR GREATER LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 6.5

Anybody ever dealt with it just got diagnosed
My PSI test went up to 7 in April when I took my yearly physical.Primary care Dr. sent me to a urologist a month after the visit he did another PSI and went up to 7.5 reading he then asked me to submit to a biopsy of my prostate which they take twelve samples from your prostate Out of the twelve tested only one tested positive.Next step was a pet scan which showed the area were the positive sample was indeed cancer following that I was given options for treatment 1. surgically remove cancer 2. radiation treatment two types original treatment was five weeks monday-friday or SBRT radiation which is high dose radiation that's done in five day's every other day and each treatment is about fifteen minutes.I chose the SBRT because it is done quick and I live in a small town sixty miles away from the hospital also the cancer was only in a small area of the prostate and detected early and not spread outside of affected area.I finished the treatment and have been told by the Doctors that I'm good and will just monitor PSI levels going forward. To close I'm 71yrs old have been lucky enough thru my whole life not to have any health issues not because of my lifestyle when I grew up I have been clean and sober for 35yrs but prostate problems and cancer are very common in men 55+.If you want any more info from my experience let me know would be happy to share my experience.

I was diagnosed in 2009 at 54 yrs of age. I had proton therapy at Loma Linda UMC, which is the best treatment available IMO. I'm still to this day cancer free.
I have friends who have since died, after ignoring the symptoms until it's too late. They were in their early 50's. It is almost completely curable IF you catch it early.

I'm surprised I don't have it. Both my dad and my grandad had it. Both were diagnosed in their late 60's. I'll be 74 in a few days ..get my PSA checked every year in OCT, this year is was 0.8, same as last year. The thing I do have is an enlarged prostate, docs say it's big, the size of a "grapefruit"...not much I have found to deal with it except take Flomax so I can piss.

If you need a biopsy they will just guess at a sample location unless the doctors has a $$$ equity that overlays the mri disc images with live ultrasound. Dm me and I can refer you to my close friend in west LA, he is urologist to the stars and take Medicaid too. All the patents in-the waiting from at 85++, a good thing. If you have Kaiser, you may be dead already.

Best of luck to you. I hope they caught it early.

My FIL had bladder cancer that had spread and 4 months ago they gave him 6 months to live with a 5% chance of getting better. He literally just got his scans back and the doctor literally was in complete shock. He is pretty much clear of cancer at the moment. What did he do? Ivermectin and a couple other drugs. His oncologist still doesn’t know what he was taking because we chose to keep it on the DL. I’ll have to ask my wife what exactly he took. There is other ways to get better besides our crooked medical system! If it comes to that point don’t be closed minded.

I had mine removed at City of Hope in August 2023. IMO they are the best. All of my treatments were top notch. In for surgery at 6 am, out by 6 pm. Catheter bag for a week. I was up and around in a couple of days. Then the recovery starts. I wore depends for a few weeks and then moved to a pad. I also went to physical therapy to strengthen the pelvic floor. Soon as I was almost back to normal moved onto 40 days of radiation. First couple of weeks not too bad but then that shit starts building up in you. Mostly fatigue but also messed with the bowel movements again. Got that done and moved onto hormone therapy. Still on it today. Should be off first of next year. Hormone therapy not very fun but for me it was all needed to make sure that shit does not come back. No signs of any cancer so it all must be working. For me City of Hope is the best. Keep the faith brother.

They put me on kind of a rotating table with my head way low so the other internal organs would move away from my lower abdomen. I have like 3 small incisions and one v shaped one about 2 inches long.

Mine was robotic. Seven small incisions in the abdomen area. In by 6 am out by 6 pm
Same I only had 5 incisions that never hurt when the nitrogen they pumped my abdomen with hurt like hell when it was dissipating out my shoulder area. WORST PAIN ON MY LIFE brought me to my knees walking around in the hospital after surgery seemed to help. I've broken bones, road rash from motorcycles, etc.

Been out of surgery for a couple hours just a lot of pain right now
If you can take short walks down the hall (when doc says its ok)I assume they have your bag on wheels. I had no pain in my abdomen it was all from the gas escaping my body. I felt it all through my left upper body area especially my shoulder. I was lucky to hardly any blood in catheter bag. Take care.

It gets better as the day goes by. The car ride home sucks. Didn't you say you're getting out around 6? Just in time for the Cajon Crawl. ugh

Men should look into iodine deficiency. I started taking iodine. Listening to dr brownstien he states iodine is needed for your glands. That it may prevent, slow, stop or possibly reverse the cancer.

Other research points to cancer being feed by sugar/carbs. A very low carb or no carb diet may help.

Mainstream medicene believes in the gene theory model in that cancer is hereditary. New research is pointing to lifestyle and environmental causes. This view is the mitochondrial damage leads to cancer. The damage is caused by environmental factors such as chemicals or from a poor diet. This model says that cancer uses an ancient fermentation process and doesnt rely on oxygen. Fermentation relies on sugar and one of the amino acids.

Cancer treatments are generally seeing if the cancer or the patient dies first. Those viewing it as a fermentation process attempt to strave it. Go on a no carb diet along with longer fasts. This may be combined with some lower does traditional cancer treatments. Big pharma doesnt like this as it cuts into thier cash cow.

In a broader view cancer and other metabolic diseases are a result of a high carb diet particularly one high in sugar, grains and vegetable oil. Under the umbrella of metobolic disease would be diabetes, heart disease, kidney, dementia, cancer, high blood pressure , etc. It would take a page to list them.

A low carb diet and strenuous excercise is needed.

Stop eating carbohydrates completely especially sugar. Start eating jalapeño and Serano chilies with the seeds. About 5-6 a day or more if you can.

Do your own research, but this will make huge changes to your cancer and in some cases will remove it.

I'm guessing those chili seeds burning your ass makes you forget about the cancer?

Reminds me of a joke about an aids patient seeking treatment to a then untreatable disease. The Dr. prescribed him a similar course of treatment, the guy asks if that will cure it and the Dr says, "no, but it will teach you what your asshole is for".
