Man, a huge disruption for what? 2% reduction in pollutants? What kind of pollution footprint does one of these huge distribution centers have to build? How about twenty of them?
You nailed it. Since the Def after treatment systems they’re chasing the last 2-3% of pollutants from a commercial diesel engine

I remember when my uncle started his trucking business in early 80s with a freight liner cabover and a 4-5 ft sleeper and a flatbed trailer.if he needed. Enclosed trailer he rented one from budd I had great
Memories going with him on a couple runs up the coast.

Another uncles friend drove a truck about same time I got to tag along as a kid for day run we’re going along salton sea he just say get over here he gets out of seat tells me get in I was like 13 at time I got to drive a conventional Pete for about 25 miles down the 86 to brawley I said how do I keep this in lane he just told me look at left front corner of nose and the center line. I did good

Now at 50 and semi retired I still have a thing about driving a truck and have the opportunity from an uncle just haven’t got there yet lol
I’m new to this industry but have been enjoying it. The trucks, equipment, people, company & the owners I deal with. More business to business sales than anything.

I get to hang out with owners of fleets of dump trucks that have awesome equipment. Real salt of the earth folks with cool stories. They’re all into trucks, hot rods, boats & guns. And best of all build Peterbilt’s.

What’s not to like?

I'm not in the industry, but I'd LOVE to pick up a 359 with a day cab "Just because." I have absolutely no use or need for one, but still dig them.

Our friends have a helluva clean fleet and this is one of theirs..... 💪

Nice! Mutual/Mutual friends!
Hahahaa!! Yes Sir our families have been friends with theirs for decades. I think I've only met Jake one time, and that was years ago. I think I met him once out in Barstow during a test session with their old Class 1.

OK & AZ trucks have to be carb certified to enter CA.

Best guess is there will be players moving freight from CA to state lines. AZ & NV then transfer at yards to distribute across the country.

You see the investment in the 303 loop and 202/60 here in phoenix preparing for the shift. Huge developments for trucking/logistics
BNSF is going to build train/ container/ truck facility on 60 12-15 miles NW of Surprise

The state of Texas has invested millions in the last couple years upgrading its port infrastructure in addition to God knows how much private money. I believe Florida has been doing similar.

The only choke point right now is I read recently that the Panama Canal is coping with water shortages from the lake at the top to run the locks, some ships are paying as much as $4m to jump the line. Plus a good deal of the freighters that run China to CA exceed Panamax. But then there is also talks of ships possibly being rerouted to sail west from China and through the Suez to start making port on the eastern seaboard.

California is literally fucking up the global supply chain and they don't give 2 fucks. Shit..... they don't even give half a fuck. The .gov needs to revoke CARBs ability to exist.
The Panama Canal is worse off then Lake Travis lol. We send a lot of product through there, loads are being cut way down to meet higher draft requirements and they are sending less ships through to conserve water. We had a meeting on this last week and the wait time is I believe roughly 14-18 days. The belief is Panama will let wait times grow until they are on par with going around the Cape or Tierra Del Fuego which they are getting to that point.

Also we are just ending the Panama rainy season, the next 6 months are their dry season so this isn't going away any time soon.

What was the Nautical Golf course was State land as well right?
It's not just that it's state land. It's state trust land. That means this land was originally given to the state governments, per the Morrill Act (back when AZ was still part of New Mexico Territory), to build land grant universities, which would promote engineering and agriculture education in the West. So any of the revenue (leases, use fees and sales) that the state gets from these lands must be allocated to education in the state. More recently, it has been expanded to public education in general, not merely universities.

Californians will need to start drinking reclaimed pee water. Just like Vegas.
This is happening in San Diego now. Sewage gets filtered then sent up to a nearby reservoir to season for a bit. Then retreated and sent back into the system. Toilet to Tap they called it.

When you posted those pictures Sunday I was wondering if the old style was still available. Guess they are. 👍
This is the last year of the 389’s. They become the 589 with better aero and slightly larger cab.

Can't stop progress, I guess. Is there a surge in the sales of 389's or are all the old timers retired or retiring?

They were pretty much sold out by 1st quarter this year. Factory is catching up on orders. Only available through buyer fall out deals at this point. Like this one.

That’s the Carb regulation on diesel trucks under clean fleet regs.

Not how long before a rebuild is required

Hello all;
With all the truck info being kicked around here I have a question or two. Not trying to hijack the thread....

I have a 2016 very low output Cummins 6.7 in a Freightliner M2 with an Allison 2500 trans. (Super C) I am looking for someone who can tune the trans and the engine. The same motor can be bumped by a huge amount and still be factory Cummins. The range they put them out from the factory is wild.

Any suggestions and ideas? I need the trans to stay together but the shift points are flat out stupid currently.

Open to spending reasonable $$ on this but need to stay licensable in CA as I have not made my exit yet.

I'm pretty sure RVs are still exempt from all the carb stuff

You are going to run a W 9 lowbed? Thats badass something different then every other pete
That truck is set up to run my landolls but I needed ramps for certain stuff I do with one of my customers lowbed for on site work.

Probably going to spec out a heavy haul w9 with a coffin sleeper since I can’t get a 389 anymore. Need the sleeper for fire season. This is the last year for w9’s also
