That looks a lot like the back side of Snug Harbor?

I loved Snug Harbor until the management changed it's direction. Water doesn't look swampy enough to be Snug Harbor. Last time I stayed there they didn't have docks like that on the backside. Beautiful Spectra 32

We were there this fourth of July weekend. I've only been there once so i couldn't comment on the new management. They had docks along the backside. Not sure if they are the same or not. It was nice. I was able to tie the boat up all night and not worry about it. I will definitely go back one day for sure. Here's a picture.

This is B&W Resort off hwy 12 on the Mokelumne. Great place to launch a big boat and fast water right out of the marina.
The Delta is a great place. The water is a little muddy, not clear like at the river or local lakes. But it runs like salt water. I can take my 32 to the Delta and run at 68 mph on the gps. At Lake Havasu I can only get 52 mph, maybe partly due to the altitude too. There could be 30 mph winds above the levees with smooth water on the rivers. I was in the Coast Guard stationed at Rio Vista for a couple of years in 1979-80. One windy night we had a call that a barge broke loose from it's moorings. 2 of us took the waterborne boat, a thirty-two footer down the Sacamento River and into 3 Mile Slough. Everything was calm until we hit the San Joaquin River and the Siht hit the fan. We turned East, head on into a 50 mph wind, we were taking waves as high as the top of the cabin. Couldn't see a thing so I got on the radar and directed Lloyd between the daymarkers in the ship channel. Luckily we only had to go a couple of miles then turned South into Fishermans Cut. I think that barge was 100' long, 2 stories high and up against the levee. We needed a tractor tugg, we couldn't do a thing for it. It wasn't going anywhere unless it broke through the levee which happens here sometimes. That's a story for another day called "The Great Delta Round Up"
On the way back we were taking waves on the stern, we still couldn't see anything so I was back on the radar. I remember that ride was a little faster going with the wind. Just before we turned back into Three Mile Slough the fire alarm sounded for the engine compartment. Lloyd and I looked at each other then he said he was going to hit the halon to put out the fire. I yeld NOOO!!! It was only the engine compartment filling with smoke from the diesels. The wind was blowing in through the vents not allowing the engine compartment to vent properly. Pulling the halon would have killed the engines and we would have been dead in the water in 10' waves and a 50 mph wind. I didn't want any part of that. We made it into 3 Mile Slough and I cracked open an engine hatch to check, all was good. GOOD TIMES!

Saw this at GT Marine yesterday... basically a bare hull. I was wondering what happened to it and it looks like the owner forgot about it.

Aloha

Good god man, that's the king of the 19s!!

Thanks Malcolm! Been an awesome learning experience, and I am fortunate to be the current "curator" of this righteous build. Very stoked to have it.

The old 18 lives! We put 120 miles on the boat yesterday. Launched it at Hemenway and took it up to Sand Point (near Meadeview, AZ) with some water skiing and tubing mixed in.

Crappy pic of new gauges installed in boat:

The colors of this boat remind me of the company jet we used to fly on as kids. The Jet and this Boat could be twins. I'm usually not a fan of seeing Black on a boat but this color layout has really changed my mine. I think it looks awesome! Brings back a lot of good memories. My 24XS looks bad in pics and in person... and until the kids grow up a little it will stay that way. ;)

Aloha

Dug up some old pictures... well maybe they aren't twins but the colors definitely felt familiar.

That was the NEC Jet. It is still flying under a new tail number. I tracked it on Flightaware an hour ago and it has been flying between Florida and Bolivia... I wonder what the cargo is? ;)

I have a bunch of interior pics of "Old Smokey" as it was nicknamed. The interior design and colors was so 80's it hurts to look at.

Aloha

This is our Family Boat we built in 2004. Someone had stripped down to the fiberglass. We Gel-coated it re-rigged it and gave it some horsepower. Its been a great Lake Mead Boat.

Beautiful. Hope to have mine looking that good someday.

Looks like I need to make my way over to COC more often...... Clean boat

Thanks. Unfortunately, one year under a cover outdoors and what was a pristine gel coat now has some pretty major cracks. Bummed!... But hey, I have a boat that I use with the family so I can't complain too much. Did I say I was bummed?

I guess I haven't thrown any pics of my money pit on this thread. Here's the one that gets most of spare time...

My boat is finally back in the water!! I spun a rod bearing two and a half months ago after a long hard WOT run with the wrong oil pan (5 qt with no windage tray). :eek I had to have the crank turned, get new bearings, and a replacement connecting rod. Everything got disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. Luckily the carnage wasn't too bad. I upgraded to an Armando's 10 quart pan and four point mounts. Here's some pics of what the boat went through the last couple of months...

Old engine with the three point mounts

New (old) motor plates installed, old holes filled woth dowels and epoxy

New pan covering engine during assembly

Second trip out with the new motor
