All of the speed shops! Super Shops, all of the Service Centers especially Service Center Torrance... All of the race tracks! A number of bars and restaurants, surprisingly I was thinking about Soup Plantation recently... The bars on 17th in Costa Mesa, Chester Drawers (Check Her Drawers), Pierce Street Annex (Pig Street), and every old place in Huntington. Some were fuckin rowdy back in the day! The Bob's Big Boy on Adams... So many and I don't think I am that old yet! 47

the one bar i miss in Costa mesa is the Helm, that place was a shithole, but the drinks were cold and cheap and always a good time. the Blackwatch in huntington used to get pretty rowdy, that was the first place i saw someone get hit with a pool cue.

Dated a real cutie from Charter Oaks HS back in 66'. A rather long distance relationship back then for a kid from the Tustin area, but I'd met her at Lake Arrowhead.
Reading this thread and how many of you fall into an age group similar to my own kids, it's not a huge stretch that I might have "Known" your mom 😂;)
If so, you were very fortunate and f*ck no, I'm not any of yawl's daddy.🤣
Well, same playing field...3 decades apart! (If it was Charter Oak in Covina)
Damn, that's near 40 miles from there to Tustin..
Musta had a damn good horse!
😂

Well hot damn, yup, same high school. Even attended one of their proms and a home football game.
Her daddy had a cool 58' chevy with a 409, and there was me with my 57' Ford 312 wagon. Yes, that drive got old, despite her being a real sweetheart. 😘

Many GREAT memories at Blackwatch, ran into the old owners Chris and his dad with their wives recently at Neptune's they are doing good! The craziest bars in HB that I went to were Redz, the place at 6th and main with the pool tables upstairs (can't remember the name) and The Pen! Helm was bitchen, reminds me of the drinks at Cassidy's!

Celebrated my 21st B day there. :pLived a few miles away. 🥃🍻
Dated one of the girls that worked there and was friends with several of them. Used to go Blue Chip bowling with a couple of them.
BTW Blue Chip bowling and the Wonderbowl in Downey is another thing I miss.

The Ice skating ring in Havasu. Well to be honest I don't remember it being there when I was young but it's gone now .

The go kart track across from River Texaco ( Where strokes is now)
Our Dads would take us there, they sold beer, so needless to say we would be there for hours.

Same with the waterslide up river.
It was across from the Blue Bar, we would be there for hours, For the same reason Beers.

Hey @Willie B , do you happen to recall the boxing arena on Ventura Blvd. in what I recall was Tarzana ? When I was dating who would later become wife # 1 out of 3, her dad and I used to attend boxing matches there in the later 60's. Seem to recall the area favorites being one or both of the Quarry brothers. If I recall, the promoter gal become rather famous. Anyway, only place I ever watched live boxing matches, but damn, I can't recall what it was called.

I remember Rex Staten, Tom Rapp and other future MX stars racing there. We got a new Travel Queen camper in 1970 and we camped by the huge rocks. Great times!

The last time I saw Rex was at the annual Sierra Safari trial ride that goes from Mammoth Mountain to Hawthorn Nevada and returned the next day. Had a few drinks with Rex and his buddy, he told stories with a bunch of us. Great guy.

Kept digging and found some info on the arena, promoter I believe was Aileen Eaton, but wouldn't put money on it.
Valley Music Theatre, interesting history and a pretty varied musical history from Sound of Music to the Doors.
