It's that time again to load up the gear and a few rowdy race trucks and head down to Baja, Mexico for the Score Baja 500 with Mills Motorsports. As most of you know the Mills team has been contesting the Trophy Truck Spec class in the Score and Best In The Desert series with very respectable results in both. For the 2014 race season they have added a Class 1 entry in the way of a Geiser Brothers truggy powered by a vicious 950 horsepower Viper V-10 engine built by Arrow Racing Engines. The Mills boys are in contention for titles in both classes so everyone is putting their boots on and intently focusing on the task at hand. This team has come a long way in a short time (2 years ago they were running a single Trophy Lite) and it is going to be an exciting time to have the opportunity to document their effort for them. Mexico being what it is, I ask that you all keep us in your prayers and thoughts. I will be updating as much as possible with the limited internet service down there, so stay tuned!

See you all on the other side :thumbsup

Nice have fun be safe ... Can't wait for the stories ... They kicked ass in the el centro race

It's amazing how much better this team is even since the 1000. Things go like clockwork around here. It's an impressive group to say the least.

Today is a down day for the team as we wait for the rest of the guys to show up. Mostly the crew will be checking gear, putting sponsor logos on the trucks and getting some R&R before we start our prerun objectives tomorrow. The prerun will be split into two groups. One group will be responsible for prerunning and plotting the east side of the course from the lake bed to Ensenada, while the other group's responsibility is the west side of the course from Ojos Negros, back over and down the coast, then across to San Matias.

Racing with Mills Motorsports under the leadership of Kent Kroeker is an experience unlike any other racing I've done. For many teams a race is about going as fast as possible with their focus on beating all the other teams out there. It's pure competitive spirit in it's raw form. For the Mills Motorsports team, however, a race is about something fundamentally different. For Mills it's all about the diligent execution of a well thought out plan.
Make no mistake, these boys want to win, but their definition of victory doesn't necessarily include crossing the finish line first. Their primary measure of victory is the precision by which their mission was carried out regardless of overall finish. The byproduct of this objective, of course, is that proper execution of their mission will put them in the winners circle by default. The team's focus is unique and impressive to say the least.

Yeah we got a house down south of town again. Nothing real nice but it's pretty cheap.

I sure would like for you to be on the west coast side if at all possible since I can't make it down there to prerun
Im driving the start to mm180 and could use some advice!

Yesterday was a great day of prerunning on the east side of the course. No major mechanical issues and lots of ground was covered and most importantly everyone stayed safe.
Today we head out to the west side, down the coast and will camp overnight. Should be a good time away from technology and all it's distractions... See you all in a couple days

Preran down to Santa Domingo yesterday. Sounds like the rock whoops are pretty nasty since they are being run backwards. Our guys are en route to Mikes Sky Ranch right now.

Had a productive couple of days on the west side of the Baja 500 course. It was my first time prerunning on this side and it is quite a bit different than the east side. Many more little farming towns along Highway 1 and some HUGE vineyards.
It struck me how impoverished some of these communities were and yet the people seemed to find plenty to smile about. The locals in Baja love desert racing to say the least. Everywhere we stopped our chase trucks were immediately mobbed by kids on bikes looking for stickers or just wanting to take a closer look at the prerunners. The residents of these small towns don't have the luxury of having big sporting events coming through their town very often, so when the Score races come to town it's a very big deal. It was cool to see...
