So you are recommending a Lexus SUV to load up 5-6 passengers, gear, and then tow a Hallet 270 up hills with power to spare.
NOTED !
5.7 TBI. . . . . NO. Hell NO!!View attachment 1326469 View attachment 1326470 Just seen this and thought of this thread….Sweet looking ride
I’m thinking your cookies are chock full of THC….cause you gotta be high AF with that recommendationAwwwwww...
Did I hurt your feeling by saying GM SUCKS compared to Lexus?
I'm sorry.
Here is a cookie to make you feel better.
43kBeautiful van but I guarantee he isn't giving that one away.
I’m saying an 01 Tundra (which isn’t even a real crew cab, nor the same size truck as the later model trucks / sequoias) May have pulled 8000 pounds ok, but a Seqouia WITH A CARLOAD OF PEOPLE ain’t gonna be happy about it….and its probably 2500 pounds heavier2500 lbs more? He’s talking about a couple kids and a couple friends, not 8 RDP members and their 96 quart Yetis filled with their gold bars.
A Sequoia is about 500 lbs more than a Tundra dry. You can weigh the Tundra down with a bed full of stuff too.
No it’s not a lot different. Put airbags in the Sequoia, push the gas pedal. You’ll get where you want to go.

Finally, a reasonable suggestion.
Finally, a reasonable suggestion.
Sequoia isn’t a bad option either. And whatever letter option the Lexus version is.You guys can complicate anything.
Tahoe
Suburban
Expedition
Are the cost effective choices within his budget.
Just needs to decide cam phasers or lifters lol
3rd and second rows are noticeably smaller in the Lexus.Sequoia isn’t a bad option either. And whatever letter option the Lexus version is.
Reasonable would have been the Hennessey version… not that poverty mobile. Finally, a reasonable suggestion.

When you coming over?Shit mang, I made em just for you!
Being that I just spent a few weekends rebuilding my wifes DOHC Jeep 3.6 valvetrain . . . I'll choose regular old lifters all day, every day!You guys can complicate anything.

Again..Maybe if the carload of people are all full grown RDP members
4 people can fit in a Tundra, even an extended cab 2000 model. We are talking about adding 1-2 small children to that, plus 500 lbs.
You are talking a 600-700 lb delta.
And he’s not even taking about getting a first Gen Tundra/Sequoia for this yob.
A first Gen Sequoia is rated for 6250 towing.
The first Gen Tundra is rated for 7200 lbs.
The payload capacity for the Tundra is 2000 lbs. the payload capacity for the Sequoia is 1400.
Magically, that just about lines up with the 500 extra pounds the Sequoia weighs.
OK, your right
Same thing I tell my wife
Your rightMath is a bitch sometimes .
When you coming over?
Is this within the 60K price range??
Your right
A 2001 seqouia is going to haul his 7000lb Hallet 270, PLUS a carload of family and gear, safely up and down the grades with power to spare from it's 240hp / 315ftlb 4.6L engine.
Yes - math is a bitch!

So @hallett21 have you increase your budget? Lol. We all like spending other people’s $$$$.
He does not have a 270 and he was never talking about buying a 25 year old Sequoia. But If that was the case the Tundra coudl not do it either loaded down with its identical engine and brakes.
But yet here we are, and people lived towing boats with 25 year old Tundras and Sequoias.
You never did answer the question how 2 small children and their gear was an extra 1500 lbs.
Did you read the original post?

So what’s that saying?
The trailer break controller and the air suspension if I remember correct for our 2015This is another place I was getting stuck, looking at the used inventory. Trying to find a Suburban with the "Max Tow Package", on the 5.3L. The filters on the search engines were all over the place, and there are lots of inconsistencies with dealer ads. You have to really dig into each one, only to find out it had the wrong rear gear and none of the towing equipment.
One of the dead give aways, was the trailer brake controller on the dash board. The options for that equipment group includes a trailer brake controller. I'd click bait into an ad that said 'max tow pkg." look at the dash board picture, and then it wasn't there.
I was close on 2 or 3 LT's, 5.3L, Max Tow, etc. but never committed. this one is a good example of what I was looking for in a Suburban. I kept searching and found the Denali.
Would have been fine for how we move the Hallett around these days.
It did and its essentially a rebadged 4 runner. LC200 series is the last real landcruiser imported to the US. It would fit the bill nicely for a family truckster except for the space requirements laid forth by the OP.Its gonna be over the budget but if I was looking at Toyotas the land cruiser is supposed to come out this year.
Oh I didn't realize it was that small. It did and its essentially a rebadged 4 runner. LC200 series is the last real landcruiser imported to the US. It would fit the bill nicely for a family truckster except for the space requirements laid forth by the OP.
Was trying to avoid having to pull over to get something out of the bedWhat about a mid 2000's Chevrolet 2500HD with a Duramax?? Starting to see the prices come down a little bit, and you'd have plenty of money leftover to upgrade the truck wherever you needed to.
Did you? Remember when you said the Sequoia would be “2500 lbs more loaded down” and his requirement is 2 adults and 2 kids . This isn’t an episode of My 600 lb Life here. They could fit all of that in either vehicle.
A 25 year old Tundra or Sequoia was never even on the short list (read the first post). Both will tow a Hallett 270 if needed however.
You are getting as bad a rivermobster
OK, your right

Whatever you say is correct
