I'm going to be the contrarian and tell you to look at late model Nissan armada with the big tow kit.

It's got all the room you need and rides better than all but the newest stuff as it has IRS, and an 8500 lb tow rating with the big tow kit.

Its pulling power will land between a 5.3 and a 6.2. The VK56 is an awesome engine.

You should be able to find a clean one for a pretty good deal.

Biggest problem they have is the manifold crack, but you can permanently fix that with an aftermarket set of carb/smog legal headers.
Make sure you rent an Armada or do a long test drive. They have (for me) the worst driving position I have ever experienced. I was not impressed for the cost of a suburban ++

Interesting to hear.

My 04 titan which I still have is at least as good as my 02 suburban was.

Seat quality is tied directly to trim level and Ive got the high end version of the truck.

Was trying to avoid having to pull over to get something out of the bed
… if you were to sleep in the bed at the job site, you wouldn’t have to worry about getting out of the bed to get something… think it over🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m not opposed to adding a Yakima or Thule cargo box on the roof.

Hurts MPG, hassle to access.

I’m not worried about resale as this would be a 5-10 year vehicle. What I don’t want is something that kills me 3k at a time for years and years.

Keep for ten years (or more) and you can justify something new. Warranty, reliability, etc.

Far less risky than anything else.

And can option the way you'd like: seating, tow package, etc.

Well, think a 2019-2020 Yukon Denali is what I need. So 6.2 no AFM issues?
