Claiming between 20-50 kids shot inside a high school.

Will this ever stop?

Parents don't want school's to look like prisons, but if parents don't start locking up their guns, school's will have to be prisons where everyone is screened and checked before the start of class everyday just like a prison.

A couple miles from me. Really nice, affluent neighborhood. Can happen anywhere I guess. My wife’s a teacher, I’ve wanted her to be armed for years now...

gun owner, carry everyday. Forcing teachers to be armed is not the solution. Have you ever taken someone shooting who doesn't like guns? They can't hit the broadside of a barn. I'm all for allowing teachers who want to be armed, to be armed. However, the amount of lefty teachers these days tells me that there will be very few teachers who would exercise that right.

Teachers don't have to be the only ones armed, I was a custodian and I would have been willing to carry.

just my .02$ here but persons carrying who are qualified and interested is something to treat the symptom, not the problem. Much like the left clamoring for more gun control after these sad events.

WHY, oh WHY does our country not roll up their sleeves, sit down and take up the VERY HARD task of identifying the problems that are the genesis of these events?

It is far, far too easy to just throw verbage at the symptoms..

This motherfucker pulled the fire alarm so the students and faculty would come out of the classrooms and he ambushed them.

this right here is a perfect example of what I was talking about....Totally USELESS BS, taken out of context to the original intent of the phrase to do what here?

They need to put military recruitment centers in the schools with a small armory. Trained / armed security for free, puts them in front of their target audience.. Saves military from paying rent in strip malls etc.

RD

I could get behind this for sure. In regards to having teachers carry I meant the ones that are interested in it. My guess there is at least a few teachers or admin staff who would be interested. The whole point is that if some idiot wants to shoot a place up they will think twice about a location where people can possibly be armed and they will meet some resistance. Our idiot Governor in CA somehow thinks it's safer to not allow people to be armed on school property...except for lawbreaking criminals.

Our high schools all have an on campus police officer.

I'm probably one of the most recent out of high school here, we had a cop onsite too. However, one guy and a Glock 26 is nowhere near enough for 4500 students. Better than nothing, though!

That's good your schools have a plan.
At min. mitigation, at least fortify the North, East, West, South corners of a school with trained professional armed undercover.

The society wasn’t armed. Just 1 coward that knew he would be the only guy with a gun. He would never have had the balls to do what he did if he knew the adults on campus carried.

Bingo.

Four people at every school in the United States doing exactly what for 8 hours?

Just horrible. It’s so sad that this is what we’ve come to as a society. I only wish I had a solution I thought was viable.

Is this another one of your Stupid ass trick questions?
WTF is wrong with you?

What do you think professionally armed undercover protection on school premises would be doing?

Do you HONESTLY have a better solution to save your Children from a incident like this?

Inquiring minds are ready to listen to your best.

Had a FB friend already calling for stricker gun laws, based on the news. No longer FB friends. While something needs to change, stricter gun laws is not the answer, unless they start to include a mental health assessment. Then again I always say, guns don’t kill people, people kill people.

Well I proposed a solution.. I have never really found a strong argument against it. Military recruitment centers in the schools.

DJ

First of all, weapons at a school locked or not make the school an even bigger target. I have nothing against recruitment centers but staffing them at the expense of the military or the local school system will never fly with voters who elect people to appropriate funds. They already have access to our high schools for recruitment.

We had a security assessment performed by a professional team. When we told them that some of our Board members carry, they said regardless of what safeguards you implement, those carrying Board members are your biggest threat. Take that for what you will.

You will never stop crazy. The only thing you can do is try to plan better for it. I've been working with this company for a short time in my industry, Agriculture, but it might be something that's applicable to this. www.vdointel.com, they do active video surveillance, monitoring and analytics. This is only something that would help detect and alert someone to a problem. There has to be someone there to alert.
I feel so bad for those kids and families that had to go through this.

Thats a win win. Military service needs to be mandatory for at least two years for everyone.

I tend to think you should have to sign up for 2 years of military or hard core us road, bridge infastructure repair/maintenance.....after that you should get 4 years of free (standard state or trade school) education paid for.

I do think the recruiting office on the campus of a high school makes perfect sense.

I personally think you need to start by having an armed principal. Second they need to put the fear of god in parents and tell them if their child gets ahold of a gun and does this they will also be charged with murder. It is a different age, the online bullying these kids are experiencing is brutal and you can’t get away from it. It doesn’t stop when you leave the school, it’s on social media, texts, you tube etc. a lot of these young kids are at breaking points and their parents need to lock up the guns.

I don’t know how they are going to have any teachers if this keeps up. I wouldn’t be a sitting duck just waiting to get shot while teaching disrespectful kids for 35K a year.
