It was a good race, the Nordic lead until the last pit. Someone will have to ask Stevie what happened.

I talked to Stevie a bit ago congratulating him. It was a good race for sure. Good to see competition for that top spot.

Motec engine management done by DaveH on Both Al's 55 that won, and Yedor's 21 Nordic that came in 3rd 👍👍👍

Al Stoker probably has more seat time in a race boat than half the field combined. It doesn't matter what you put him in, he shows up to win.

Your chance to buy a Parker Nine Hour Enduro Mandella, vintage 1964, built for and owned buy one of boating's Greats of All Time.
Saw this on the Parker Enduro FB page and felt it was worth passing on to the many RDP members who aren't FB subscribers.
I'll let Mr. Erik Nordskog's FB message speak for itself.

I sent that to someone who has a Mandella, I think that’s a great addition for him

When was the last time a schiada won the enduro repeatedly? 😂😁😘

I’m confused.. I read on the stoker page to Never Ever ever ever put a new high horsepower engine on a Stoker.. so much so that the page you run won’t even allow a for sale post of a boat with a newer larger engine on it..

Then right here I’m seeing the very person that said that campaigning a stoker with a 450 on it and a motec flash?

So what makes this so different?

NWSRA Team 222 represented this weekend in the ski races! Our F2 skier Gage Goldsmith won the mini Marathon outright, Dave Chandler won the 55+ class, then Gage went back out with me for the double up main race... We won't that too!

Yes Sir! It's held together for 4 seasons and 5 Catalina's. She's a little rough for the wear these days but still gets the job done. I can't believe it's been 5 years since we raced their. Crazy how time flys

No, I'm just the dumb dumb that skied with him Saturday, double up. His dad pulled him in the mini with their new to them Nordic, "Axion"
Craig Gregory drives the 222 and Brian Vesely is the observer.
But yes, amazing family! That whole family can ski!

We had a good time. Similar results to most of the vdrives. Problems lol. We keep breaking batteries and the boat will keep running on the alternator until we pit and shut off the motor. Then it won’t restart. We run a 16 V charging and starting system so need 16V batteries. Not easy to find a third one in Parker. Ended up borrowing one from another team for the last leg. The third battery broke as well and on third to last lap the water line feeding v-drive broke off. I grabbed it and was holding it in my hand while driving trying to limit the leakage into the boat but too much water got in and the alternator stopped charging after getting soaked. Ended up losing the ignition system about a mile from the finish and slowed to a stop just south of Badnochs.

Here is what Al said in FB:

"Thanks, it is a one off build. We continue to develop as the engine weight and power has created issues we continue to try and work out. While we have made progress it is still difficult to drive especially turning and why we continue to say production versions should not have this weight and power."

Why 16 volts?
It started off as a 12V system but has a really hard time starting. The 16V got rid of the starting problems. Either voltage had the battery breakage issues. I have another custom battery box on the shelf we may try. The harmonics seem to fracture something in them in about 20 min. We have tried different locations for the battery as well. I have a few more ideas

What’s the plan to insulate the battery from the harmonics?

I haven't seen you're setup so Im just spitballing here.

Have you tried an Optima AGM battery, perhaps the spiral coils would be more immune to breakage? Or an Odyssey AGM? It has lots of thin plates. Neither has stuff floating in liquid so they are both very vibration proof and can be mounted in any orientation that would help.

As for your starting problem, do you run an MSD box? Their new 6M-3 box supports full ignition voltages down to 6 volts, as well as has a cool start retard feature that might help fire the motor.

Well what’s different about this one?
This is a one-off custom boat purpose built for the Enduro. There are way too many modifications to list. Al has spent countless hours engineering, modifying, and testing to adapt to the new power. Very few people in this world are capable of safely operating/driving this combination.
