Every boat is limited to 110Do they have a speed limit rule on the Stoker like they do on the Nordics?
do as i say not as i do...did i say that out loudI’m confused.. I read on the stoker page to Never Ever ever ever put a new high horsepower engine on a Stoker.. so much so that the page you run won’t even allow a for sale post of a boat with a newer larger engine on it..
Then right here I’m seeing the very person that said that campaigning a stoker with a 450 on it and a motec flash?
So what makes this so different?
Every boat is limited to 110
OK, a crawl was a bit of an exaggeration. LOL. But it did slow down significantly.Slows to 65-70 in corners from 110.
And it looks so easy from the beach. That thing was on rails all day...This is a one-off custom boat purpose built for the Enduro. There are way too many modifications to list. Al has spent countless hours engineering, modifying, and testing to adapt to the new power. Very few people in this world are capable of safely operating/driving this combination.

Yeah..kind of funky. So much so that I was told that if I didn't agree, I was welcome to leave the group..hmm. kind of woke..I’m confused.. I've always loved that boat since seeing it at the ski races at Clearlake as a kid. Stoked to see it racing again.
I feel pretty damn fortunate to spend the time with family and friends working on our passion of boats. Especially my 87 year old Grandpa that runs around to grab parts and wipes down the boats every chance he can. I am grateful that we all got to share this awesome Enduro experience with him working hard in our pits.I can't tell you how awesome I think it is that the whole games family participates in the various types of boat racing..

for those of us not lucky enough to check the boat out in the pits, can you post some pics of of the engine + rigging?
anything special needed to get that engine in there? Assuming this is that quad cam 4 valve setup I saw running around in some offshore setups?
First time I saw this boat was 1988 at the US Nationals ski races in clear lake. I was 10 years old and remember it saying "No Jap Crap" on the back of the boat. Always loved the red, white, and blue. The original owners 24' Hallett is up in Lake Arrowhead now and see it regularly as well. It is also Red, White, and Blue. So cool that the Games Family has this boat to match their Cracker Box as well. This boat is as nostalgic as they come for me. Congrats on getting the boat done and ready to race the enduro. Looking forward to seeing it race in the years to come.Single Cam, Mercury Class 1 Race Motor.

@Racey turning into a outboard guy!?Motec engine management done by DaveH on Both Al's 55 that won, and Yedor's 21 Nordic that came in 3rd
Well Dave as for what's different. To name a few. To start the owner signed a letter of indemnification. It is a one off custom built boat. Bottom has had multiple hours of work and changes, it will not fit in the mold. Countless hours testing and working with balance. Multiple thousands spent on props trying to find one that works and handles yet the boat is still touchy to drive. Before all the changes the project was nearly scaped by the owner due to handling issues. Has balast in several places to help handling yet it still transfers the engines weight to the outside half way around a corner thus the slow corner speeds. While we have made progress, it is still far from ideal. Each enduro the boat may have looked the same but it was not, bottom and balance changes for each. IMO I felt it better to test this under a more controlled situation with an experienced driver than to just tell people ok. Safety has always been a concern and why we have continued development. Also when built the owner agreed that if we could not make it what we considered right he would remove the engine and install a 300R. At this point when/if it gets converted to a non-race boat it will be repowered.I’m confused.. I read on the stoker page to Never Ever ever ever put a new high horsepower engine on a Stoker.. so much so that the page you run won’t even allow a for sale post of a boat with a newer larger engine on it..

As for the Motec. It was installed for two reasons, first we wanted to be able to start in gear and with the electronic shift we were unable to do this with the Merc ecu, if you saw the start you know we were still left at the beach. Second was we were having issues going into gaurdian mode and wanted to have the ability to bypass.
As for the FB page I do not control it.
Are you still going to race the Cracker Box Class? Or switch to GN Racing? Congrats Andrew and the rest of the GBR family!!I posted this and thought I'd share the story!
Parker 2024 Enduro.... ONE OF THE BEST WEEKENDS OF RACING FOR OUR TEAM Games Boys Racing!!!! Since April of this year, we were all still pretty tore up after disintegrating the new Alcohol Flat. We came into this race pretty pumped, but expected something to eventually brake and we just hoped whoever was driving was safe n sound. Well..... Just finishing our 1st ever Enduro was Awesome. Being in the Top 10 was even better. Coming in 2nd in the GN class and bringing home $$$ kicked our sorrows to the curb and brought us all up on Cloud 9!!!! We still can't believe we did it!
A few months back, I bought a Mercury Class 1 Race Motor off my buddy Jim Mobley. Thank you for the motor and the Bitchen upholstery work on the drivers seat! With 2 kids under 2, I figured we would work on the boat next year to get it ready for the Parker 2025 Enduro. In September, all the Games Boys and Friends were on a fishing trip in Baja, Mexico. We were a bit tuned up one night and I got convinced to get the boat DONE for this years Enduro!
1st off, I need to give a HUGE THANK YOU TO MY WIFE Karli Games for not chewing me out too bad for all the time needed to get this boat done. Thanks Babe!
I was working on this boat multiple times throughout the week and then taking my boy to the race shop almost every Saturday thrashing to get the boat done. My brother would come over with his boy as well as my Dad Greg, Papa Ray, Uncle Bruce, Tony Costantino & Friends and we would keep making parts and hooking shit up! I sent the V-Drive to Joe Shelfo for a fresh rebuild and to add a needed whirlaway. Joe also rebuilt and added a whirlaway to a spare V-Drive I had. Everything looks great. Thank You Joe!
2 weeks before the race, we got the motor hooked up, went to fire fire and realized that we were not getting power to the injectors. I ran the boat to Mr. Carson Brummetts shop and he traced the needed wire and we fired her up at his shop and she purrrred. Thank You Carson for the quick help!
That night, I took the boat out to Parker and tested her the next day. Ran the boat for 10 minutes just cruising around to make sure everything was in order. Just as I was about to start legging the boat, I see the V-drive start smoking. Luckily I was right by our ramp and put the boat back on the trailer. V-Drive was sizzling HOT. At 11PM that night, Chuck Maples & I pulled the V-Drive while staying thoroughly hydrated with many beers. The next day, Bill Diez picked up the V-Drive and rebuilt it during the week. Bill said Joe's rebuild looked great and everything was in order. It may have had a fault bearing that heated up the V-Drive and drained the oil to get HOT. My Buddy Larry Gebhart picked up the v-drive from Bills shop in Bullhead and dropped it off to me in Parker. We tested the Sunday before the race and the boat felt TITS!
Now our hopes of making the race are starting to shine. I hit up Dan with the Welding Shop in Parker, AZ to make a scoop for the motor. I was worried we would get soaked down and water would get in the motor. Thank you Dan for the quick bad ass scoop. We did get soaked a couple times from turns with 3-4 boats wide! The scoop kept the water our of the motor and we kept ripping!
The Day before the race on Friday, Bruce, Tony, & I took the boat out to get the feel of her. This was Bruce and Tony's 1st time driving her and wanted to learn her capabilities. All went great with testing and we took the boat down to the track to tighten every bolt n' nut, tighten the steering, check the oil, mount a box for tools, & get set up for the race.
Enduro Race Day Saturday. We get to the track and watched the awesome water ski races that morning. Now it was time to suite up and dunk the girl in the water. I go to fire her up and she wouldn't lite. Ended up being the new kill switch cap was not fully engaging the kill switch. Quickly grabbed the spare kill switch cap that was in the box with tools in the boat and she LIT! Went out for a quick warm up and then idled her back to the beach with the rest of the race boats for the start.
Being my 1st Enduro start, I had butterfly's before I got in the boat. Once in the boat, I felt great. Flare goes off and we have 1 minute. 50 seconds. 40 seconds. 30, 20, 10 Seconds and the flag is up.........Flag Drops and We're Off!!!!! I instantly think about my family at home and hold myself back from trying to get to the turn 1 as quick as I can. The 1st 5 laps were F'n Gnarly. Rough Water and Boats all around. After the 1st 5 laps, the boats spread out from each other and I could start increasing my speed. The Tub of Fools felt GREAT! After 16 laps, I went by the pits and tapped on my helmet and my brother Greg drove the truck and trailer to the out-ramp. Greg would start the stop watch both times we pulled the boat to refuel, we were on the in-ramp within the needed time to keep racing and keep our momentum. Uncle Bruce drove the 2nd leg of the race and kicked ass. Each time he went by, I was hoping we wouldn't get the call that the boat broke down. After his 12 more laps, Bruce tapped on his helmet and we hauled ass back to the out-ramp to pull him out. The final Leg, Tony C hopped in and gave her a whirl. Keep in mind, the last time Tony raced, was when we destroyed our TAF race boat. Tony went out and got the feel real quick. He started laying down a better time with each lap and had a lot of fun drag racing other boats to the turn. After 4 hours, the white flag started flying and we were all pumped. Tony took his final lap and drove across the CHECKERED FLAG! We all went wild and couldn't believe we finished our 1st Enduro! Then we find out we officially came in 2nd in the GN Class and 9th Overall.
Thank you to my cousin Mari Games for keeping track and time of each lap and letting my dad or brother know which lap to scribble down on the dry erase board. That Saved us from confusion! Thanks to our good buddy Brad Oslund for helping fuel the boat and work on other things around the pits.
Thank you to all Family and Friends that helped Games Boys Racing get through our 1st Enduro. We are Hooked and can't wait for next year! Thank You Ross Wallach and the team with Southern California Speed Boat Club for putting together a UNBELEIVABLE Race! Thank you to the BlueWater Resort & Casino for letting us race and use your facilities!

Thats a fact.just a nerd that likes punching keys
More like 50 to 55 at pit end and 45 up river endSlows to 65-70 in corners from 110.
Crew thought so too until they saw some of the on board footage.I appreciate the response and actual information in it! That boat looks like it’s on rails when it’s running down the straights and shallow corners. I am surprised to read that the weight of the outboard is still pulling the boat to the outside..

Eventually we'll get one of the Crackerbox motors back together. Having fun with the GN right now though. Once the Teague motor sells, I'll start building a new Blower motor to GN race with. Are you still going to race the Cracker Box Class? Or switch to GN Racing? Congrats Andrew and the rest of the GBR family!!
