Finally leaving SoCal for good this summer, moving back home to Skamania County in SW Washington. We boat on the lower Columbia, Merwin, Yale and Swift Creek Reservoirs. You’ll all know when I find the rest of DB Cooper’s loot when my new float pops up in the from the mold section.

Years ago we had a place at Lake Merwin's Campers Hideaway. Would barefoot every morning at 7AM. Running up the river on the east end and the boat would blow the fog off the water. Good times.

Nice! I grew up right there, learned to ski on Yale and Merwin, and trolling for Kokanee when it wasn’t warm enough.

I grew up in Kirkland WA, family moved to Sacramento when I was 13 and moved back to WA when I was 21. Been back for 28 years and have spent the last 20 years in Mill Creek or Snohomish WA.

Nice to see a others from the PNW are members on RDP.

Chelan Poker Run is 2nd weekend in July. Hoping to actually be in town this year to drive over and check it out. Although I'm currently boatless, so it'll be from the shore/docks.

I'd like the idea going to the Chelan Poker run. Called one of the marinas there last year if I can stay on the boat overnight, but didn't get a firm answer if I could. Either I'll take my travel trailer and bum a ride on my buddy's 34 Hallett, if he goes this year, or drag my boat down and hope i can find accommodation. It gets pretty busy that time and reservations start really early, just like Desert Storm.

Had no idea there were so many of you up here in my neck of the woods. I live in Republic, WA. I'm about 30 miles south of the Canadian Border. About 3 hours northeast of Wenatchee and about 3 hours northwest of Spokane. On Curlew Lake.

We boat with a group of lifelong friends who collectively have 5-25 Daytonas, 2-26 Daytonas, 1-28 Daytona, 1-30 Daytona a 28 Magic (I think) and now a 28-Speedster. And there are several other performance boaters that we see all the time on the Columbia. We spend every 4th of July and Labor day in Boardman, OR and this year are renting a house on Shasta in August. Seems like Chelan would probably be the most central spot for a PNW Regatta?

I like Shasta...…… Did a trip there about ten years ago.

Lets set the Chelan poker run as the official meet date.

Chelan is beautiful, but it may be tough getting reservations in peak season. I'm not sure ,just thinking out loud.

I actually bought my first boat after a test tide on Tapps. Had never heard of or seen it before.l guess my cousin used ski it in the mornings daily.

Funny thing the guy was from Az.,relocating to work at Boeing back in the 80s. That boat was won on the price is right by a friend in Cali. It needs a lot of restoration now but I still have the cvx 16 that has led me down the path...

Lake Chelan poker run is awesome, as long as the wind doesn't kick up. If your going to go, book reservations now. Look in to Campbell's resort if you want a slip where you can keep an eye on your boat. The state park in downtown Chelan is really nice if you have an RV, the launch ramp is right next to it. There is another huge launch ramp and parking lot near Manson / next to the yacht club. Not sure I would leave a tow rig there over night. The tribal owned gas station near Manson has methanol free gas, or used to a couple of years ago.

There are only a couple of places to anchor, best is between the two bridges by the dam. If you dont plan to hang out there dont bother with an anchor as this like is deep, like almost 1500' deep.

The upper end of the lake is just fantastic, just make sure your topped off before you leave and plan to fill up on the way back, its a long lake. Dont forget the wind kicks up in the afternoon. If that happens go down the hill and drop your ride in the Columbia that is shielded from the wind.

I would join you guys, but my Eliminator is now in Wisconsin. I'm sure my divorce attorney is doing something cool with the funds from it so I'm cool with the swap.

There's some serious hardware on Lake Wahington and the Puget Sound. The old local website, PNW Offshore used to put on a deal at the end of summer, meet up in Lake Washington, go through the locks and head southwest in the salt. The website went down a couple of years ago.

Launch Pad was a key member of that crew, he had? has? a Nordic with a SC bigger block, check out some of his videos here -

Click on "videos" on his page. This is one from 4 or 5 years ago.
42' Outer Limits with 1550 Sterlings.

Here is another from " Scream and Fly" on the Columbia River. Google Scream and Fly and you may want to tow up to the PNW and attend.

I've been to the last few of the scream and fly deals at Crescent Bar on the weekend following labor day. Always some cool boats to see , although attendance has dwindled the last couple of years.

I used to run the PNW and Vancouver poker runs with these guys from 2000. Terry B, the owner of the 42 OL used to own my Mirage too before he got his 35 Nordic with 1800HP. He used to call the 35 Nordic a lake boat, haha.
That 42 OL is a beast, going trough any water you could throw at.

If they have the Portland Poker Run this year it's a pretty cool event as well. Great scenery rolling thru downtown. It's not very long but theres also a fun dinner gathering at salpare bay restaurant and bar after. Lots of places to stay in the area with boat/trailer parking.

While my place may be somewhat Spartan to some .Theres room to park quite a few mohos and and boats if things don't work out and some can't get a spot. We are 50 miles from the lake but have 20 + miles of river to run off our launch.

Party at your house...…. If you are willing to host maybe we can change dates too?

I am also in Olympia. Live across the street from the black lake boat launch and also do the Columbia river..I also own a couple business's here in town. One that caters to the RV and boating crowd ( Northwest Coach) and another that caters to the custom projects crowd ( Toy Factory Fabrication ). I used to love it here but the politics and catering to the drug zombies has me looking to head south in a few years..

I have older relatives just outside of sisters overlooking some river or stream that escapes me at the moment. 500 or 1000 feet down to the water.
