Took a drive a few hours from Vegas last weekend up to the Pahranagat Refuge. Amazingly beautiful with nobody there. I have said, 45min out from Vegas is the mark where people just don't get out any further.
Anyways I won't bore you with our hike (we did about 7 miles this day) but I will bore you with crazy petroglyphs we got to see.
There are literally 100s of them around here with the Pahranagat Man being the most famous. The photo is of the biggest one but it is carved into multiple other places. Looks like a damn alien to me but who knows right? There is also stuff that really doesn't look like anything organic the indians were drawing (spaeships?l Good imagination or fookin' aliens!? You decide. (I like saying "fookin' aliens" for some darn reason).
Either way, an amazing place with tons of neat natural history. Plus at 3500 feet, I was in a t-shirt all day. Got to love that SoCal...errr SoNev weather
