The kids and I took the motorhome to campland in mission bay. They freakin love this place.

They are gone on the bikes and scooters before I even got out of bed.. Stacy and I are at the cantina, I’m drinking my iced tea and she’s having a Bloody Mary. Lots of AZ plates in here right now…. Lol.

Not hard to understand why.

That’s a cool place. Our kids used to go there every year when they were younger with some friends and loved it. Haven’t been in a long time.

I have a place at San Mateo campground in San Clemente in a few days, wanting cooler weather. Maybe head to Uath/Idaho after that.

Been there many times years back. Always fun with allot for the kids to do.

A bit spendy but seemed worth it.

If you can make your way over to the 'Barefoot Bar & Grill' on 'Vacation Island' there's a pool of recirculating seawater that has yellowtail, bass, etc. etc. in there . . . kids might get a kick out of it. Has a footbridge you can walk over and the fish swim under it . . . pretty cool. Not 100% it's still a thing, since it's been a few years.

Been to paradise point many times! Love it! Really liked it with their old menu.. not as good now as it was, but still decent.

I told Stacy next year we will bring a boat and rent a dock there and stay in campland.

School in Havasu late next week? We have been waiting behind school buses here since the 18th. Grandson already griping about one of his teachers. 😀

Tons of good places to eat. Point Loma Seafoods, just off of Rosecrans and adjacent to the docks of the SD Sportfishing Fleet is a good one. Timed right, you may see one of the large Sportfishing boats unloading their passengers with their catch. Currently, they’re bringing in some nice Blue Fin Tuna.

He's River fukn Dave😉🤣

So all these rv trips that we do all over the place.. pretty rare we have them planned ahead.

Stacy calls and sees if there’s any last minute cancellations and there almost always is?

For the long journeys we plan some spots but most of it is on the fly. Yellow stone / redwoods / all over the place.. I’m driving she makes a couple calls and says “we are staying here”.

Just spent a week there over the 4th. Wife loves the small beach there. Wthe E-bikes it's quick to get to Mission Beach.

Looks like you're still just a bit too far inland to benefit from that fog & marine layer. up here I have fog on beach and a cool breezy 70s but if I turn my head around I see blue sky heat maybe a mile in.... kinda looks like you have that condition now too. I love fog when its so hot everywhere else... super lucky.
I drove to Big Bear for change of pace last coule days and went through flatlanders 103 before settling on lake for breezy 70s ... beautiful.

Hobies are the shit... my sis was addictd to running her Hobie 16 all over Chesapeak Bay, Md... great memories ... they fly man!

If memory serves...

There is a bridge you can't get under so you could Almost let the kids take one out by themselves.

I could be thinking about Newport Dunes though?

Been awhile since I've been to either place! 😜

Yep, Dunes definitely has that low slung bridge... They don't rent Hobies just paddleboards there so perhaps your mixing the memories... Mission Bay for sure rents Hobies.

RV spots are insane right now. I’m going to spend a grand in Oceanside for 4 days next month. Nothing like an extra mortgage payment to go camping for 4 days.
Camping - where you pay a fortune to live like homeless :)
I get pissed at how expensive some SD areas campgrounds are between Memorial and Labor.
The rates at Campland go down the Monday after Labor Day, we try to book a October weekend when possible

Still cheaper than the 6 grand I am paying for a room in Maui next week! 😂 Insanity but I promised my girls years back we would go.

Will be down there skiing the bay on Thursday then eating lunch at barefoot bar and grill!

We are currently booked until Thursday. Might stay longer though? No plans as of yet.

Might rub up to riverside and camp at a buddies house for a day or two then head home.. or might head home? Lol.

I know the kids and wife are staying through the weekend. I kinda want to hit algodones on the way home.

Try Costa Vista/Sun Outsoors one time in Chula Vista. Diamond in the rough. Extremely nice place with all the amenities except being right on the beach (about 1/2 mile inland) Great pool and bar. Pricey though.

Long Island Ice Tea right? IF not you are doing it wrong. LOL. We were in Newport a weeks ago. The 76 degree days were nice….Let’s play name that bar for those at home suffering in the A/C staying out of the heat. LOL

It always is a blast and this time did not disappoint. We just need to get the pub crawl set up. 👍

That’s a crazy drive from the river to through Glamis off the ten. just at the end of Blythe. The way you go around all the fields in a Square pattern.

Another cool way I’ve gone from the river to San Diego is up the hill in Palm Springs, over the mountain, then through some really cool country looking areas. It was worth the drive. Maybe not in a moho though

If you decide to further south, Silver Strand state beach in Coronado is pretty awesome. I used to take the kids down there in the motorhome
Only issue is the ocean there is constantly polluted from Tijuana so you never know if it will be open when you’re there. It’s been a problem for a long time but seemed worse this last year.
