I am hearing whispers of another round of Stimulus checks $(1400). This time under Trump.

How do you all feel about stimulus checks?

I have heard that there is gonna be 5k refunds from the IRS too.

So......what of it?

I hope Canada collapses under the tariffs and has no choice but to join the USA! Before Trump I always felt that Canada should be a state. It makes more sense, considering how America dependent we are.
If you think the USA and their demented serial liar leader are what is best for you - you should pack up your shit box car and move down there. I am Sure not dependent on the that fat fuck bullshit king president.

Sounds like POTUS has you a little riled up. Don't worry, we will still protect your pathetically weak country. 🤣

What that he is a fat fuck that is a serial liar that spews nonsense and appears to be demented?
Yes. Perhaps he does have a bit of a belly but that’s normal for 78 yo, but the claims of a serial liar and dementia is absolutely false. My father passed away due to dementia at 74. I sat by his side as he crossed over. It was unsettling for me because he seemed too young to die. My step mother was by his side also. She didn’t cry immediately yet told me it was a difficult several years watching his deterioration and that he will rest much easier on the other side

James Carville?????? LMAO!!!!!!

He should apply for a job wiping Trumps ass. At this point it would be a respectable way for him to retire. Trouble is, there will be a long line of hosers brown nosing for the position.

Did you see James Carville’s YouTube video speculating that your esteemed leader is too fat to wipe his own ass and that he has Syphilis?
Oh boy, watching James Carville's videos on YT  I'm Canadian and I wouldn't want Canada be a 51st state. Trump's trolling Trudeau and the liberals in Canada, seriously affected some brains here. But don't worry, no serious effort were made against Chinese takeover in Canada since Expo 86. I prefer a joined economy with the US versus China's any day. I'm guessing you'd choose a Chinese EV over Elon Musk's Tesla, because it's cheaper! :p
You joined RDP since 2007, you sure were quite all these years, with only 17 posts.;) I'm guessing, Trumps re election sure had some effect on you.

Canada will never be the 51st state. so chill

Commonwealth member countries benefit from being part of a mutually supportive community of independent and sovereign states, aided by more than 80 Commonwealth organisations. The Commonwealth Secretariat, established in 1965, supports Commonwealth member countries to achieve development, democracy and peace

This is a very valid point.

Unfortunately current American policy is to have both Canada and Mexico work more closely with China than the US.

Why else would America unilaterally tear up a valid trade agreement such as the USMCA.

Li Ka Shing bought prime location, Expo86 site, real estate for 20 million from the BC government. It cost BC 17 million to clean up the industrial waste. The land was worth probably 1 billion at the time of puchase. To top it off, back in those days, Canadian government giving grant to China, calling China a developing nation, lol. Li Ka Shing got 20 million grant for his oil business as well, he owns gas companies here.

Don't need memes...only facts .....Like shooting fish on a barrel 😂

From your article, ....and BTW, of course it only relates to China:

Federal Reserve data recorded approximately 12.4 million manufacturing jobs when Trump became president in January 2017 and 12.2 million when he left in January 2021. There were 12.9 million manufacturing jobs in September 2024, although job creation in the manufacturing sector and manufacturing’s share of total employment are lower than pre-tariff rates.

Reason for employment decline: ( Do you remember Covid?)

COVID-19 ends longest employment recovery and expansion in CES history, causing unprecedented job losses in 2020

In March and April 2020, the longest employment recovery and expansion in U.S. history abruptly ended, with total nonfarm employment falling sharply because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and the efforts to contain it. Job losses were historic and widespread. Although state and local government restrictions on businesses and individuals began to ease somewhat after April 2020, total nonfarm employment ended the year 10.0 million below its February peak.

Here's your meme, again.....LMAO!

I keep reminding myself, in Trumps Playbook, bankruptcy is a possible option. 😂

Where does that leave the balance sheet, if we don’t pay off on our treasuries purchased by China, and other countries. 😂

Throw in a “Storm-n-Norman invasion” of Iran, to show who’s boss. 😁.

With a lot “Shock & Awe” 😉

Reagan on tariffs. They make companies dependent on the tariffs rather than be innovative and competitive. They subsidize the inefficient.

Was he wrong?

If we are Reagan Republicans, probably nothing. I guess I just won't export to that country and let them screw on tooth paste caps or whatever it is their tariffing. No different than when another country subsidizes an industry through tax incentives (read electric cars in the US).

As Reagan said, it will feel patriotic. But in the end we are just rewarding inefficiency. A small government republican would say that tariffs are just another form of big government and taxes.

Well, to be fair Reagan did use tariffs in small amounts. Nothing sweeping like now.

One slight lil problem there Mr. Reagan Republican, the GOP Uni-Party allowed the majority of our manufacturing to be off-shored. You can protest all you want, that doesn't get us what we need.

It's called FAIR trade and it's not too much to ask for.

The world market has changed.....
Google the list of companies who just recently announced they are moving to and building new plants in the U.S.
Tariffs were very successful in Trump's first term.....what has changed? 🤷‍♂️

I'm fine with reciprocal tariffs if they exist, that seems fair. I don't care for blanket ones. Doesn't make sense to me that we would tariff Canada and Mexico more than China. Only one of those has he aim of replacing the US on the world stage

Reciprocal across the board. I don't want us or them getting away with any of it.

After that, we up for bad partners.

China is shipping raw materials in to Mexico and assembling products there to avoid tariffs.
