I only asked because I thought perhaps she was Kelly Clarkson, pulling a bit of a funny spoof.

Not that I follow any of this shit, but many years ago I was impressed with Clarkson on American Idol. Subsequently for whatever reason, she got fat and somebody coached her into believing if she strains her voice like she's taking a hard dump, her music will sell better.
Impression turned to yuck for me in both respects.

The other day I was watching a dumb-ass horror movie in Netflix and when I switched back to satellite for normal viewing (That which my wife knows how to operate), I just happened to land on Clarkson's tv show and was stunned at how much weight she'd lost.

So seeing that image of that fake fat face, I wondered if that might have been her NEW improved slimmer face concealed under the chubby disguise.
Hence, answering the question of "Why make it look fat"

Have you read the story told of Joseph in the Book of Genesis ? Did you understand what Genesis 47:13-26 was regarding ?

That during the seven years of famine, others came to Egypt in search of food. Joseph being in his position he'd attained, directly under the Pharaoh intervened on behalf of the people's suffering the famine.
Negotiating this deal with the Pharaoh allowing them to sow (Farm) on government's (The Pharoah's) land and in turn 1/5 (20%) of their harvest would be given (Taxed) to the Pharaoh in return.
In other words, the rent for the people using the land was 20% of their harvest, that's it, just using the land.

Despite my ire over how much us working stiffs are taxed and on which things and how our government pisses away or improperly utilizes the monies we are forced to dole over --- comparing these two examples is like comparing an apple to an avocado, the only similarity being that technically, they're both considered fruits.

Post away, I enjoy it, but occasionally take a moment to review the subject matter, then I won't feel obliged to comment on it. 🥴

Thank you for your understanding. 👍😁

And PS: I might be a slave to many things, but one major difference between my life and that of a slave, I can leave whenever I feel the cost for the services rendered are no longer worth it and move to somewhere else that I feel will provide more for my dollar all things considered.
So far I've not found such a place, not when I use the caveat " All things considered " 🤷‍♂️

Umm, maybe you should try doing just a little research before posting this nonsense.

Here’s just one of many places you can find the answer to the question.

so when the Captain tells his passengers the flight gained or lost time due to head wind or tail wind...
nothing to see here..

so they say..

can't be incorrect

Help a confused ole man out here please.

You're talking about two, f*ck, I dunno, maybe three completely different things as if they are one. At least I think you are --- beats the f*ck outta me, but I'm trying here.

1. At various altitudes there's a JetStream that normally travels from west to east across the USA, although it's rarely straight, with large dips depending on how it's being swayed by upper level high and low pressure areas.
It's speed varies greatly, but can reach speeds well in excess of 250 mph. So yes, obviously depending on the routing of aircraft, it can aid or hinder a plane's flight speed. Often planes are routed to take advantage of the jetstream, or to avoid it --- that is of course when it's not being routed by "Them" for Chem Spraying. 😳 ;) IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE EARTH'S ROTATION --- see item # 3 below.

2. The other thing that affects travel is of course depending on if you're traveling with the rotation of the earth or against it since the atmosphere the plane is flying in is rotating with it. Obviously with it going west, against it going east.

3. You seem to be also questioning why if the earth is rotating on it's axis at 1,000 mph, we don't step outside and get blasted in the face or back with 1,000 mph winds --- or a plane isn't fighting them.

Here's a quote from the Farmer's Almanac -- not that you'd believe a bunch of old fart farmers, but I dunno, I'm trying here.

" Why isn't there always a strong wind, since Earth is constantly spinning? The atmosphere is an integral part of the planet and travels at about the same speed as the surface of Earth. Because the rates are similar, there is little or no wind from this phenomenon."

Nope, natural born skeptic here, I question most everything and learned by doing so.
For this reason, there is no entity, real or perceived that stands on an unquestionable pillar of trust with me.

I've worked as a soldier for our government, then spent many years performing construction contracts for the same people.
Some justified, valid, worthwhile and gratifying, some completely absurd and wasteful. I shook my head and thought WTF ???
I've updated and retrofitted the entire electrical infrastructure on military bases. Then stood shocked when they shuttered the base.
But our government is just comprised of people, lots and lots of people. Just like other peoples, some are very good, honest and truthful, others not so much.

What I do not do is make the assumption that everything they, or anybody else tells me or tries to convince me of is truth, and not everything is a fabrication, at least not in it's entirety.
I do trust certain logic, certain physical laws and in general, I pretty much understand how things work, including some rudimentary science involved in it.
If I don't, then I do more specific research, I dig and keep digging until I've reviewed what I feel is an adequate number of opinions.

Where you and differ is, I admit to not knowing everything about everything, and I'm open to accepting knowledge in order to learn.
Appearances suggest otherwise in your case.

Enjoy your Christmas Holiday peering skyward trying to determine which one of those contrails contains chemicals other than water vapor and expelled hydro carbons, meant to accomplish ---- what exactly ??? 🤷‍♂️

Merry Christmas to you too RM ✌️🧐😁

KGB, masters of disinformation honed and perfected during the Cold War years.
Which brings us to now -----
" In some ways, the current Russian approach to propaganda builds on Soviet Cold War–era techniques, with an emphasis on obfuscation and on getting targets to act in the interests of the propagandist without realizing that they have done so."

" Russia has taken advantage of technology and available media in ways that would have been inconceivable during the Cold War. Its tools and channels now include the Internet, social media, and the evolving landscape of professional and amateur journalism and media outlets."

Yup, know who your enemies are, especially when they haven't changed for the past 70 years. Nothing's changed other than the methods.

Anything about that feel familiar about that ??? Well it should 🧐

Never been a soldier, and never sworn allegiance to a government or man, but I'm pretty sure the corruption and evil within the Russian government, is alive and well within our own. I don't think one is better trained at a skill they both have.

Exactly, but I know which side of this propaganda war I'm committed to help winning, despite the growing reality of never knowing the ultimate outcome. In fact, I'm hoping none of us have to face that potentially climatic grand finale.

I hope to hell we're better at these skills than any other country in the world. You're not going to beat this world's villains playing nice.

It's become painfully obvious to me just from reading RDP, that Russia has made huge strides in their continued propaganda efforts to erode the trust of America's own citizens.
Equally unfortunate, that those governing this country I dearly love, aren't helping in this regard. 😖

My biggest issue, determining who the villains are. When I'm positive "we" are right, our own government...not theirs...comes out and says or does something so incredibly stupid that I have to wonder.

Putin is a killer, or at least was in his "prime". Biden I honestly feel is just a slimy politician. I'll leave all the questionable actions regarding kids or such out of it...though really creepy. Both Putin and Biden share an amazing thirst for control, a massive greed. Both sides see nothing but domination as a goal. The American/NATO side sells their reasoning as Putin wants to take over the world. The Russian side sells it as NATO wants to destroy Russia. Both sides are willing to prove their point by sending thousands to their deaths. Not very noble, at least I don't think so.

In the end, all I can do is try to protect my family from the enemy at the gates. Some villains are too far away to worry about, and yet there are others entirely too close. Protect my own, and help my friends and neighbors. If everyone did that again, I think we'd be too strong a country for any other to mess with. Sadly, division keeps us weak.

We have a demented pedophile placed in office with an imbecile that fucked and sucked her way into power. The pedophile in chief has been openly accepting bribes for year, senators and congressmen openly associating with Chinese spies, the federal government jailing their opposition, tens of millions of illegal aliens pouring across our borders, children being mutilated by government decree and you're worried about Russian Propaganda?

Just what the fuck kind of Russian propaganda could be worse than the truth that we all can see?

You'll get no disagreement from me on your statement.
Everybody screams demanding "The Truth", and complete transparency. Very few would recognize or acknowledge it as such, or are responsible enough to be trusted with it, and fewer still would know what to do with it once they got it.
The real truth is, the more people, the more control must be vested over them, because people by their very nature are afraid and their behavior highly unpredictable. The last thing any government wants, or is prepared to deal with is mass chaos.

" SADLY, division keeps us weak", that sir, is absolute truth right there.
But how can we expect otherwise when "ME" is the # 1 priority, consequently, we only unite when a common enemy threatens all our "Me's" and we realize the only way to protect # 1, is to do so as one strong united force.
I pray we still have that quality in us if the situation demands it.

Otherwise we continue to fight our individual battles. After wiping out the squirrels, I'm fully engaged in exterminating rats and mice.
My game cam is picking up a rat that would kick the shit out of most any cat --- and is damn near as large. There's a reason he's so large, he is really good at staying alive and proving to be a far more cunning adversary than I've previously encountered. 😁

Yes, I worry about Russian and other enemy propaganda regardless of the faults of our own elected leaders. I do not excuse their actions, and certainly am not proud or accepting of it.
I am however smart enough to realize, that siding with our enemy is certainly not going to cure the disease we have sitting in the Big Chairs currently.
I'm sure the Russians are using your examples to the full extent possible at every opportunity, that I'm assured of.

So there's no Chem Trails over Russia ? You might consider relocating there then ??? Or look up the Pacific Island of Hango Rao, checking Flight Radar 24, I don't see one single aircraft within thousands of miles --- safe have I do believe.

I suppose this means you're not going to tell me how you've learned to discern ChemTrails from Contrails ? Or are you convinced that every trail of frozen vapor in the Troposphere are comprised of chemicals engineered to alter the weather ? Colder, Hotter, Wetter, Dryer ?

Name Russian propaganda ?? No, fuck no. There's no value in comparing the vices of our elected leaders against the wrongs of those of other countries, I'm not a student of Russian KGB propaganda tactics, but I'm sure you seeming support their efforts they find encouraging.

I don't measure my allegiance to my country by some 'Bad Guy' judging contest. Do you ?
In more concerned about fixing what's wrong here, then what might be right in my enemies house.

I think both Russia and the US use the same tactics. Both tell their people that the other is backwoods and primitive. Both cherry pick highlights of the others F'ups to blast their news. As for the big lies, I don't know, because I'm still piecing together the most reasonable answers, and kind of deeming that as my truth. The US used propaganda to get us into WWI, many stories about people picked to rally the citizens. We know now they used social media recently as a weapon. I'm sure it is comparable there as well.

Oh, and this season has been mice around here. That, and a Coyote got three chickens a week ago. Been on point with a more quiet .22 and thermal...he hasn't come back yet

We received training in Germany on some of the common tactics being used by the East German agents who were thick as flies at various German nightclubs where GI's tended to congregate. Their tactic was obviously to strike up a conversation, but not pick your brain, or start asking prying questions, that would be obvious and you'd clam up.
Just idle conversation, the type after a few beers you'd provide hints and small tid-bits of information that once combined with other information, might be meaningful. Information gathering was akin to doing puzzles, mostly they were interested in weapon strength and troop deployments.
Restaurants were another popular venue. Especially a Friday or Saturday night, beers a plenty and conversations around the dinner tables getting louder and more loose tongues.

Modern technics are often very supple, because when emotions are running rampant, usually not much more than an internet seed (Thought, rumor, conjecture, juicy tidbit) be planted and the emotions of the group will cause it to grow without any further intervention or assistance. If it starts to slow or head off track, a little nudge here, confirmation there, and it's back and running again.

The best propaganda is obviously invisible, if not, it's useless.

From what I've read, sounds like their tactics haven't changed much. Instead of Berlin, it's Kiev. Sounds like the visiting helpers/trainers and consultants congregate there on leave or breaks and such.

The concept of sleeper cell Islamic jihadis coming over the open border is scary. A few can injure or kill a lot of people in a location or many. The concept of Russian or Chinese spies is also frightening...only I fear with their information they could do more damage over a much broader area.

Everybody's spying on everybody and the technology has gotten so good the agents don't even have to be sitting in the establishment to eavesdrop on the conversations.

Being of a contrarian state of mind, I avoid places with lots of people like the plague. When the humans flock in one direction, I scamper to the opposite.

My counter intelligence is to be so fucking boring, nobody will have the resolve to stay on task. 🤣
Wannta tap my phone, and track my location ? Knock your lights out, my phone doesn't move 70' a frigging week and that's only back and forth down to my shop and back upstairs again.

I do have some concern regarding my wife as she works for an employer that's not loved by all in this world. They do take precautions, badges never worn outside the facility, no parking decals or identifiers. Secure parking with guards, thankfully they take security rather seriously.
At least she's not currently involved in "Secure" projects so we don't have the feds questioning neighbors on our sex habits. ☺️

Thankfully, the method of burning that was making it's rounds on the internet two years ago, has been halted and now there's a recycling plant where they're moving the tires to nearby for recycling.

Inside the haunting graveyard filled with 42 million tires -----

These tires are wasting away in Kuwait’s recyclable graveyard.

The dumpsite is home to more than 42 million rubber tires that are just beginning to be recycled in an effort to reduce the country’s waste problem.

It is one of the world’s largest tire graveyards but is just a mere four miles away from a suburb, where residents were complaining of large fires releasing plumes of black smoke. Instead of burning the waste like before, they’re recycling instead.

Kuwait wants to build 25,000 homes on the site, so it is moving the tires to a new recycling plant in al-Salmi, which is near the Saudi border.

The plan is run by EPSCO Global General Trading, a recycling company, where its employees sort, shred and scrap tire parts. The end result is rubbery-colored floor tiles.

If anybody's interested, here's the full story and pics.

"Pyrolysis" is something I just heard of this last year. I have a neighbor, retired doctor, that has been playing with it on a small scale. He's taken 2 liter soda bottles, milk jugs and DEF jugs and melted them and refined them into some sort of fuel. So far, I've seen it run a yard tractor and a generator. Pretty cool.

Holy crap though, that's a lot of tires they have sitting around!

Damn, at home ? Pyrolysis to biofuel from organics seems far less complex than from plastics that require a catalyst to accelerate the intense heating required seems like an adventurous home hobby. 👍

I recall perhaps 10 years ago reading about Waste Tire Pyrolysis and hadn't really thought much on it since. Your reminder of it caused me to do a quick search and I was amazed how many large facilities exist or are being constructed in the US alone for the recycling of waste tires into various fuels and carbon black. That's cool, because ICE or EV, tires, tires, and more tires, there's a lot in need of recycling and it's not apt to run out anytime soon.
