I am sure they are adding lanes to all of the streets and highways surrounding the area? You can't drive down Beach Blvd now with all the traffic.

It will be like Denver. They will tout it as "affordable housing"

Monthly rent will be $7200. Utilities, cable and parking space cost more.

Rent would have been $5K a month or less but, now that property taxes have gone up so does your rent. You can't charge for a pet. . . . read ESA. (fucking mutt with a certificate from an internet counselor) so you can't charge for pets ( we just jack up the rental price to cover our end)

And, you can't charge as much for a damage deposit or collect for first & last months rent.

Guess what. . . . those costs now just get lumped into the new monthly rent. And get passed onto the renter.

BTDT and doing it now with renters.

First Craftsman’s tools went to Chinese shit, now the tool department is a low income apt.

Go America!

Who’s footing the bill or subsidizing this project and to the tune of…?

I believe Newscum is pulling the funds from the reparations allotment.

The "affordable housing" requirement for multi-family housing is a joke (imagine that). They are building a pretty large apartment complex near my Wife's grandparents house here in Simi and they have like 8 affordable units and even those prices aren't really that affordable.

Simon Property Group is the owner for the Brea Mall project. They are also building the new 400 units. Not sure of the costs.

The one in Westminster will be a good thing in the long run. Plenty of employment in O.C., good family area.

Not sure if any of you remember our recent battle with our adjacent city (Hawaiian Gardens). A developer wanting to build 13 low imcome units 3 stories high consisting of 5 bedroom, 4 bath units on a 25k square lot. We are a small cul-de-sac street and that would have devastated our little neighborhood. We fought it to the end for 9 months and the city denied the builder to do the project. What a nightmare that would have been for us...we are Lakewood.

Sorry for the longwinded reply I am about to post.

Our neighborhood has been going through the same type of thing for over a decade now. Project started out proposed as senior living, then went to mentally ill health facility, then now it is being proposed as low income housing. All in the middle of a decent neighborhood. Pretty shit too because our city council could not vote on it or even speak against it in meetings since it came from the State level.

Tres Lagos is a gated affordable housing community with 225 residential units proposed on an approximately 10.35 acre site located on Catt Road between Arnett Road and Fox Ridge Lane. The property is designated in the City General Plan and Zoning for residential development, and the community is designed consistent with applicable City designations and standards. The project’s two- and three-story buildings will have a mix of one, two and threebedroom units, and community amenities will include outdoor recreation areas, like a tot lot, multi-sport ball court, BBQ and picnic area. The community is intended to include after-school programing and adult education/health/wellness and/or skill-building programming for residents.

1. Q: When will the construction of Tres Lagos begin? a. A: Construction for the Tres Lagos affordable housing development is expected to begin in June 2022.

2. Q: What type of residents will be living at Tres Lagos? a. A: The planned Tres Lagos community is an affordable, multi-family housing development. Eligible families applying for residency are households earning between 30-60% of the area’s median income.

From my city rep-
"Tres Lagos was approved at the state level. The city had no say so in it. If that sounds preposterous, I agree. You should see the other laws that Sacramento has pushed on us, taking away local control and making our neighborhoods less safe.

The ruling party (The Democrats if you're unsure) couldn't care less about Wildomar or any other community. If you voted for the blue team, you made Tres Lagos happen."

This is fueled by the SB35 bill.

....and why are the taxpayers responsible for people who make poor life decisions? This just enables these freeloaders to not want or need to better themselves if everything is given to them - this state is so F'd up.

My first apartment in Ontario was a brand new complex off Haven. They couldn’t fill it up so they made it half low income. It made for interesting pool parties.

Let me see if I have this figured out…

Plan is to put 1100 low/mid income family’s in a very tight area (1 city block or less).

What could go wrong?

The drug dealers/gangs will be buying the first 10% of the units, and hell breaks lose shortly after.. within 2 years, it will be a complete Shit Show.

The way I read it.176 of the 1300 apartments and townhomes are for low/mid income not to exceed 80k income for low and 107K Income for mid.

The key word here is Income. Low or high you still need Income to afford anything.

Awesome, how many rentals are you gonna have in the neighborhood?

Hope it works out for everyone…

Because we know for a fact 10-15% of population cant drag then entire community down. San Francisco proves that…

RIGHT?

Ha Ha. In the last anti CA thread some inmates were saying CA should help out the younger kids to help them afford a home. This thread..Not so much. 😂

KBF could use the added income. Their quarterly reports came out and they lost millions due to the closures due to the heavy rains this year. 😝
