We have to put all the illegals somewhere...... and pay their rent, feed them, educate them, give them medical.......ect. You know, give them more than a veteran.......

One hundred and seventy-six of the project’s total units are slated to be deed-restricted affordable housing, with 5% restricted to low-income households and 10% restricted to moderate-income households for a period of 55-years.

See, its only for 55 years.

That’s where I grew up in the flower tract. Used to walk up to the Thrifty’s for ice cream on that corner as a kid.
I remember walking across farm fields between my home and my school(Dysinger).
Our street dead ended at Date between the power lines & LaPalma.

The "affordable housing" requirement for multi-family housing is a joke (imagine that). They are building a pretty large apartment complex near my Wife's grandparents house here in Simi and they have like 8 affordable units and even those prices aren't really that affordable.
"Affordable housing" will soon be popping up more throught Ventura County, I know there are plans in the works for projects in Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park.

I sure hope with all of this new housing they can figure out a way to store more water first...

Sorry for the longwinded reply I am about to post.

Our neighborhood has been going through the same type of thing for over a decade now. Project started out proposed as senior living, then went to mentally ill health facility, then now it is being proposed as low income housing. All in the middle of a decent neighborhood. Pretty shit too because our city council could not vote on it or even speak against it in meetings since it came from the State level.

Tres Lagos is a gated affordable housing community with 225 residential units proposed on an approximately 10.35 acre site located on Catt Road between Arnett Road and Fox Ridge Lane. The property is designated in the City General Plan and Zoning for residential development, and the community is designed consistent with applicable City designations and standards. The project’s two- and three-story buildings will have a mix of one, two and threebedroom units, and community amenities will include outdoor recreation areas, like a tot lot, multi-sport ball court, BBQ and picnic area. The community is intended to include after-school programing and adult education/health/wellness and/or skill-building programming for residents.

1. Q: When will the construction of Tres Lagos begin? a. A: Construction for the Tres Lagos affordable housing development is expected to begin in June 2022.

2. Q: What type of residents will be living at Tres Lagos? a. A: The planned Tres Lagos community is an affordable, multi-family housing development. Eligible families applying for residency are households earning between 30-60% of the area’s median income.

From my city rep-
"Tres Lagos was approved at the state level. The city had no say so in it. If that sounds preposterous, I agree. You should see the other laws that Sacramento has pushed on us, taking away local control and making our neighborhoods less safe.

The ruling party (The Democrats if you're unsure) couldn't care less about Wildomar or any other community. If you voted for the blue team, you made Tres Lagos happen."

This is fueled by the SB35 bill.
It would be such a shame if all of the construction equipment suddenly caught fire due to a sudden burst of a solar flare.....

I too walked to Thirftys for ice cream. Friends lived on Panama any time my mother wanted to get rid of me she'd ship me off to Buena park. Skim boarding under the power lines during and after the rain was great fun!

The green belts were great. huge grass areas for the kids to do what ever kids wanted to do. I imagine they are now used as community gardens with old liberal broads running the show telling others what they can and can't do.
