Hate to cap the thread, but this was on OSO. Thought it was interesting and they said it's in Havasu. Even has a cigar bote sticker. 👍

If I lived closer, maybe. My lake is a bit rough for the little girl. OSO Member "Schweeng" had the thread.

This is the first I’ve seen the mini since it was buffed and delivered. The gel on this boat is truly art. Pedro knocked it out of the park. One of the biggest differences between this mini and an actual schiada mini is the rear hatch I have. Pictures do not do these fades justice, and there is just a hint of sparkle that is real subtle. Nobody is going to confuse me for a fisherman. I can’t wait to get it rigged up.

Now 1 question for the brain trust, and 1 major hurdle still.
What prop should I try? There are a lot of options for that little motor including cleavers. I’m not going to buy a cleaver for a boat that will probably be cruising 35mph.

Next issue is the trailer. He stopped into adrenaline 2 or 3 times without so much as a call back or email. They don’t seem interested in my project, but the girl at the front desk today told me they just built one for a 10’ mini. I also stopped into the new trailer shop in town.

They had a nice little setup at the boat show, and I stopped in to see their shop. It looks nice, and the young guy I talked to seemed really nice. Sounds like his parents have owned a large welding shop in town for a long time and this is something they are branching out with. It’s only 2 guys and they seem pretty busy. He also told me they haven’t built any custom boat trailers yet, mostly jet ski and utility trailers. They do have a 19’ jet bote on the schedule so mine might be the second boat trailer they build. They are supposed to get me a general quote soon. Like everything in havasu, I won’t hold my breath for it to come quick. He seemed to think about 6 weeks if they do it. The girl at the desk at adrenaline said probably 3 months or more.. Anybody want to build a sweet trailer?? Blows my mind there aren’t better options in town.

Nick at Mad Skills Fab is who I’d use for the trailer. Not in Havasu but worth the trip.
I don’t have social media, so I can’t open that. Where is he located? Number?

Got down here last night for the first time since June and finally got to see what’s been waiting for me in my garage;

The trailer shop was supposed to go measure while rigging was being finished, but, the guy who was doing that separated from the business so it was forgotten about. Standard Havasu. I didn’t press the issue because it was too hot to come down anyway, so it’s going in tomorrow to resume that process. I’ll get some actual good photos when I finally get to take it out. Lee (from schiada) told me at supercat fest the 12’s were originally certified for 35hp. Think I’ll have issues when I try to get get this home built registered? 😝. I need to figure out the right prop. The basic turd on there still pushed it to 43 in its water test. I got 35 from the tohatsu 50. That was also with 2 of us in it. I’m not sure I want to go faster in this thing.

Also, this is no for sale thread, but the tohatsu with all associated controls that was previously on the boat had a lot of interest before. Now that I know this heavier motor didn’t sink it, I’d like to get it out of my garage… No Lowballs! I know what I have here! The lowest hour 50hp 2 stroke out there! I don’t know the actual hours, but I’m pretty sure it’s under 10 total.

Who is doing the rigging?

RD
its all finished.

Fallon Marine did it.. He had told me I couldn't get the Formula Race 60 without (APBA?) card.. Then when I talked to Lee at Supercat fest, he said he could order it for me no problem. Unfortunately I already had the 60R. The soft motor mounts and the beefier lower unit are not good for going fast. I'm not trying to win any races, so its fine.

This thing is so much fun.. We took it out for a little water test today. I’m glad to see it didn’t sink with both of us in it and the heavier motor on the back.
