This is JMHO, and not intended to step on any baller's toes.... but I would stick with a tandem trailer. I think the triples look a little bit silly under the minis.

Put a triple under a badass 19' or a double-throwdown 21RC?? Absolutely!! But not under a mini. Just put together a clean tandem trailer, and keep it classy. No need to go overboard with this one.

If you do it to scale you can’t really tell the difference.

I tend to agree if I can’t find rims under 13” that look good. I think some nice 8” rims with wide low profile tires would look pretty cool.

Wouldn’t something like a Harley motor be easier to fit?

Yea a flat 4 would probably fit under the hatch.
How small of motor could you build and still make 100-150 hp? Test still keep it light enough as well. I tried googling such a motor and didn’t come up with much.

VW Anything over 2000cc would get you there. I don't know anything about Subaru's but have friends that spent way to much on them.

I would think it would take a LOT more money to build a reliable 2 liter VW that still won't generate as much HP as a stock Subi motor. You can buy complete motors off Craigslist for less than $700, depending on size and whether or not a turbo is included.

He got tired of building the VW motors. Keeps blowing up.

Could you take a newer turbo jet ski set up and get it to fit? To much v for the pump intake?

Problem with a 300+ hp supercharged ski engine is then it would be a jet. But it would be Sweeet.

That mini I was looking at needs more work than I thought after checking it out closely. Better of buying a new Schiada mini. New Out boards are so pricey. Could just buy a new ski and make it a donor. Yamaha 1.8 L.

Has @ChrisV started on your trailer yet??? 😎

Regardless of which powerplant you go with, setting that beautiful hull on a proper trailer will definitely set it off! MeCasa, I responded on your trailer posting about smaller wheels, and added a link. Check it out whenever you're bored. 👍

I don’t see the link you’re talking about. I went to that trailer shop in town and haven’t heard anything back from them. That’s annoying. My money is just as good as anyone else’s.

This dude built a 12’ V drive! I wish I could find more info. Not a fan of the editor though. The recommended note at the bottom has serious Karen vibes..

I’ve been really considering the Merc motors. It’s more money, but the weight is substantial too. I’m not totally sure the weight will work without moving the gas and batteries forward. I probably need to find someone in Havasu who is a lot smarter than me. That shouldn’t be hard 🤣. The 60R is 268 lbs and is $10k. The formula race 60 is 247 lbs. I’m not totally sure it’s as easy to get, and it also has no warranty. Also priced around $10k. Pro boats has them both listed for $9k, but I seem to have a hard time getting them to call me back as well.

With the tohatsu 50 on the back of this boat, it isn’t breaking any speed records. Nor do I really want to. I am not trying to race this thing, it’s just a lot of fun to drive. The tohatsu is a great motor and was bought brand new for this boat in 2017 or 18, but it’s looks just don’t do this boat justice. For how much work (and money$$) was put into this gel, it deserves a beautiful power train to match..

Turbo Busa with a mini Arson type set up would be really cool.
This, the engine is about 195lbs +/-5lbs and 190hp. About the same weight as the 60 Suzuki but just short of 2.5 times the hp.

So at the bottom of this ad for plans of this 12’ boat, all kinds of people posted pics of the ones they build with a Buick V8 in it. Maybe I can put a tiny V drive and a real motor in it…

But what kind of V drive setup will work with this thing ?

What to do with the transmission? Lock it in high gear with direct drive? Clutch of some sort?

Enter rabbit hole here >>>>>> X. 😂
Everything I’m reading says the Busa motors don’t make enough torque for a marine application. I’ve seen busa motors in sand cars though so I’m kind of surprised by that.

Kustom build an arneson type drive.

It's fun spending someone else's money 🤣🤣

To be honest It's entirely possible but one hell of a rabbit hole and a lot of engineering and machining. If you had the knowledge and equipment it would definitely be a fun project but to source it out wouldn't be beneficial unless you have Elon FU money

I don’t have knowledge, equipment, or FU money, so that plan is probably out. 🤣🤣

Sorry, I lied. It wasn't a link necessarily, but info on what I found typing 10" DOT Aluminum Wheel into Google. 👍

Just do a straight shaft with dual rudders on either side.. makes things much simpler

I'm not sure how well those hulls run at speed, but I should do a sst60 56 ci for one of you guys.
On a 12 ft that would be legit. It would probably need decent Cav plates like the 60hp ones Schiada has built.

Pretty sure Schiada has gotten theirs over 60mph at Lake Naci.
