My grandparents had a cabin in Wrightwood on Yellowstone, spent a lot of time there as kids and have a shit load of miles on the slopes of Mountain High. They sold the cabin years ago but I would be sad of it burned down. I always drive by it when we go up there.

Pray for our agents and clients that have homes there and our wonderful little office downtown. We were just there last Thursday filming. Such a beautiful town
It really is

Fuck is it that close to La Verne? I was born and raised there. I hope it gets under control 🙏
Said the fire is circling back so they are making everybody leave. Now that they are making everybody leave, I’ll say that it’s Marshall Canyon equestrian center. So if it comes down the ridge it will hit there first.

It’s not easy to evacuate that many horses when you only have one way in and out. So you have to start early.

Stay safe I'm praying for everyone.
Do you know if they are giving evaluation orders to any of the neighborhoods off Golden hills? I've contacted some friends parents who are older and haven't heard back.

Golden hills on the north side is under a level 2 evacuation warning. Meaning it’s a “be ready” warning.

Nothing mandatory yet. I think it just comes down to how long it takes for horses. People can jump in a car and drive.

Had had a bear come down Wheeler yesterday. Pushed south from the fire.

From my front yard in Upland a few mins ago and earlier today from Claremont. From my backyard I can see OC fire. This is crazy.

Wild drive home:

Left the office by John Wayne Airport and could see the flames of the Trabuco Fire.

Came down the 241 towards the 91 and could see the Bridge Fire flames (Photo below)

Got off at the 91 at Green River and could see the Line Fire flames.

Not looking good. The red has already burned and my grandparents old cabin is on Yellowstone. Last updated an hour ago so it could already be gone

People on a local FB group are saying that MTN High is gone. So many great memories there over the years. Hopefully they can bounce back from this.
I’m sure they’ll be back just a matter of how many years. Tragic.

I have a Timelapse on my phone from one of their cameras. I’d say this is true unless by some miracle it was an old section or secluded to one area.

Still no updates from our friends in baldy. We are hoping everything is ok and no homes were burned.

It's pretty depressing to see all this. I know Baldy real well, and used to hike Saphire canyon to Ice House. Really some of the most beautiful areas in SoCal I thought. The other fire I watched burn across from my house in Alta Loma, but the mountain bounced back pretty quick. This looks a lot worse, and a lot of homes lost already. Really sad. I hope homeowners can stay safe, and firefighters stay safe as well.

Appreciate it. No one can go down there. Luckily a fire chief purchased a property a couple miles up and definitely pulled some strings to get us through the night. That ranch has over a 100 year history. All we can do is pray.

I'm afraid to ask, but...

Did the pad survive? 🙏

I live in San Antonio Heights just below the fire.

We watched it cross the ridge late yesterday as it moved across Baldy Road. Prevailing winds were sending it deeper into Baldy Village and Wrightwood but we were put on notice to evacuate anyway.

By the early evening they had trucks staged at the end of our culdesac and the kids and I calmly packed and headed to my brothers for the night to stay out of the way if nothing else.

Expectedly no impact, but I really didn’t want a 1am door-knock with mandatory evacuations and scared/panicked kids.

Fire ran all night the other way and unfortunately sounds like it took some structures in both Baldy and Wrightwood. Thoughts and prayers for those communities and responders.

I tend to take a different approach😂 wife and kid are packed and ready to bail, I’ve passed out hand held radios to my pals and will be digging in like last time. Reality is a watering can to put out falling embers would have saved 90% of the evacuated homes that burned last go around.

If it shifts back this way I’ll be proactive to help my neighbors and friends, been monitoring command and tac frequency’s for chatter, so far so good. I’ve seen the face of the foothills burn twice in my life, 20 years apart each time, it’s been 20 years, we’re due.

I feel like SAH is gonna be fine, but I don’t think a raging forest fire cares about my feelings😂 the fire is not far away, and there is a lot of fuel between that frontline and SAH. Temp was 60* at 5:00 am this morning when I went out to see how things were looking. Current winds are mild at the airport and blowing to the north east away from foothills👍

That being said I watched this fucking thing explode yesterday afternoon, all bets are off if the wind shifts our way.

Fire photos are from yesterday afternoon and last night.

Ex wife wasn’t around, and sending the kids alone wasn’t in their best interest.

Honestly no genuine concern of the fire itself, I agree SAH will be fine.

I just didn’t want the impression of being asked to leave hastily would have left on them or their concern if I left them without me (7yo/10yo).

But then, I did turn on the sprinklers before rolling out! So 🤷‍♂️ maybe I did think it could burn.
