I don't know if there is an advantage. I want it for the cool factor. I hate electric Cav plates!

Kinda off topic but would a yamaha banshee engine to v drive setup fit in one of these? Run a heat exchanger to cool the engine instead of raw water. Looks like the challange would be the pipes and a reverse gear.

And then turn around and kick start it? If you were to want to go something similar a late model rotax motor with electronic reverse and electric start out of a snowmobile would be the best option.

I could see that. What would the advantages of an override pedal me on an outboard? I know it's a 12er but if you hit that pedal won't it slam the nose too hard?

I would think this could all be adjusted.

Much better off with a supercharged seadoo motor with 255 Horsepower stock. Riding my friends RXP reminds me of my Banshee on Race Gas.

I may not be understanding the physics but with such a small boat any pedal movement would generate a huge response in the bow. It would seem that the plates would have to be so small they wouldn't really be plates. That's why large v-bottoms have long tabs. Let me know if I'm not seeing something.

The headache to make that work would take the novelty out of having one in the first place. Like others have said, probably better off throwing a used waverunner motor i there or even something like a Bruin 350 or big bear 400 thats not chain driven if you wanted to stick with the ATV route. Only down side to those last two options would be how the engine would hold up in +100 degree heat with them being air cooled

You create the 'amount of MAX travel', the 'required UP pre-load' (springs), 'effected bottom surface area', and the 'mechanical advantage of the hand/foot controls' .

You can make them do whatever you want, but generally the goal is just 'effective trim control' , nothing more . Remember; we are talking about 'adding more drag' .......

Plates that are 'recess mounted' and 'deflect the plate material', work differently and with less 'drag' than your typical 'offshore 'K' planes' . Usually the 'recess mounted plates' have more effective surface area, and so they need to MOVE MUCH LESS (end travel) to give the same amount of 'transom lift' .

'K' planes were originated to create 'transom lift' for boats with transoms 'having I/O outboard and external steering system clearance problems' . Minimal space for trim plates to mount and be moved, across the rear of the hull .

'Recessed deflecting plates', were usually part of the hull's original design, and may be used as 'fixed' or 'cockpit controlled', typically for 'transom lift' (not always) but always adding a measure of 'drag' to the riding surfaces .

Bushing hole for cross shaft in the new parts ?

I've been trying to figure out (in my head) a system that would be 'one side of the steering wheel is throttle, and the other is plate control' .

Think; 'heavy duty paddle shifter' kind of set up .

Yes, the bushing hole is for the cav bar setup. It will have 2 pillow blocks on the outside edges.

Can the plates be activated hydraulically like with a brake master cylinder?

They make a hydraulic down pedal system for some of the K boats and race boats, but you wouldn't need it in this type application.

Ok, I was mainly thinking for AZGEO's paddle steering wheel set up. So it is doable then. :thumbsup

60 should have this hull skipping along nicely. Any idea on weight for this set up?

I'm not sure on the weight of the boat. The last 12'r that got done with the same motor runs right around 55mph.

No that's just fresh off the CNC. It will be polished and clear anodized

Cool, I wasn't sure if some color was coming to it. Any gear case work with the water pick ups planned? Get that prop on the surface.

Will those be what holds these brackets to the transom?

The projects that SFV2RVR comes up with and completes makes majority of the rest of our sleds look like crap. There seems to be a common thread with everything he touches.... Bitchen and over the top! ;)

As always, super-nice!!

I can't wait to see the update pics!

Thank you! I just try to keep myself busy with a project and they all turn into some type of endless snowball. Thanks for following my project. [emoji1303]

I feel your pain. I bought my house thinking we were gonna tweak a couple things. Every time I touch something it turns into tens of thousands. I should live just done another boat.

Now that you have 15 feet of running surface with dem plates hang a 2 liter with a 15 inch mid. on that budget less 60K build
