Did some horse trading and now have these tank straps - gonna have them polished on the one side that faces out and then line them with some sort of two sided tape that will protect the tanks which will be powdercoated. The black one was the only one I had left that wasn't falling apart and we used as the template.

Gary,

I know this is old and you may have it handled already but I have had a lot of success with this product on our race cars. Anytime I want to seal a gap or protect a surface from abrasion this stuff has proved itself in very adverse conditions. I use the "furry" part, not the "hard" part. I have used all kinds of foam and tape over the years but this is my go to stuff.

I still have your motor Gary...

I will keep that in mind Jim! I talked to Rick and he said they shot some gel but this thing is moving so slow.....I don't make it by Ricks shop as much as its not my territory anymore.....maybe someone can swing by and see if my boat has some new gel on it? The motor that came out of it has been rebuilt and is available for sale too from the guy who built the trailer....

Dave, I bought this boat in 2010.....I think all the pics were direct to RDP but the site has changed a few times in the process so I think that may have kicked pictures out?

Looking forward to getting this boat rigged and on the water....

If the pics were hosted on RDP and not on tapatalk server or something I would think they would still be here? I'll ask Forensic about it.

Putting an offer in on an investment property - anyone want this? New triple axle trailer, all new gel and bilge, rebuilt and polished casale v-drive, fresh rebuilt and polished turbo 400 with reverse pattern. Have all rigging except steering, interior and a motor. My loss..... $20K. Boat still getting gelled but will be PIF if it sells.

I will try and get better pictures next week. I have had a few offers on the trailer - I would like to see it go as a package but will keep it in mind.

Had to pull it out of the other shop as I could not get a return call, text etc....plus it was moved and was sitting outside which I was not happy about it. Sadly a nice ding in the paint on the trailer as well..... Going to cost me a bunch of extra $$$ as well but after 4 years it was time to get this thing wrapped up! This guy has had it 3 weeks and its almost done....

Looks good Gary! I can't tell from the pic, is the non-skid still on the deck or is it gone?

Who is finishing the gel?

The guy operates out of So Cal Speed and Marine. Great at getting back to me with progress information. And he banged it out in a few weeks. Meeting Monday to discuss the inside and how the gel will look in there.

Cool. Yah I had the same exact experience with the other shop. Hence why mine got pulled as well.

Looks great[emoji106] I had the same experience as you with the other shop. Ironically I heard on multi own occasions my situation was an isolated event. Yet I kept hearing similar stories. [emoji107]

We took the floors out to check on the health of the stringers underneath. Everything looks good so he will reinstall new floors after he reglasses stringers. Possibly spraying gel as soon as next week.

Gonna be beautiful. (Is beautiful). Is it going to be a keeper or are you still trying to sell her?

In my world everything is for sale! :) Too far into this thing to get my money back so potential buyer has to have money to burn!

I just saw your boat and its amazing! We dropped off ours since its next in line for a makeover. Daves 20' is also a work of art. No sure how either one of you are going to manage to get inside without padded booties. Can't wait to see how ours turns out.

Thanks Nailhead - he just sent me these pics....boat is for sale ready to be rigged $30K. Have all hardware, tranny, v-drive - no steering, interior or engine. Turned out amazing....

That looks great! I'm happy to see you guys took the extra time and sprayed gel up under the gunnels from the transom to the forward bulkhead. It looks great! ;)
