There sure has been a lot of riverside land burned this year. Yuma was hit memorial weekend, then ehrenburg, and now needles.

Everyone from the surrounding areas responded, as far as Redlands. Helicopter helped some of the real bad loom ups near houses, was very greatful to see the bird flying with the bucket..., it was and felt like a war zone. I have a ton of pictures will post later. Flames as high as 40 feet and 100 feet wide, it was as worrisome and you could imagine. My wife was actually one of the first 911 call takers for the fire. Evacuation level in place right now if concerned or changes direction. Cali side 50% contained, active fires still in AZ side. We are safe from what I can tell for now but I have the wife and pups ready to jet within a few minutes if we get a call. I stayed during the fire we actually had lookie loos and a couple of trucks with possible looters driving around looking at houses (buddy at MCSO relayed to keep watch for them), they would have been in a world of hurt if they tried something in our neighborhood I will just leave it at that :) Thanks for the concerns, hope nothing flares up tonight.

Not known yet, it started by the 40 overpass in needles just up the street from the pizza place, SB county was there with 2 engines and seemed like they had it under control then it caught wind and spread like crazy, burned north up river then jumped the river to the AZ side about a mile south of courtright and dike road and spread real fast.

We were on the 40 about 5:30 heading home there was one unit with a couple fire fighters working it on the fwy. It looked like it was ripping farther north.

Thanks appreciate it. I gotta hand it to Mohave Electric, a few poles and lines caught fire and the power went out but they had it back up within 90 minutes. Going to be sleeping with 1 eye open tonight for flare ups. As for thieves, lets just say that it would be ill advised for them to FK with our or our neighbors houses.

That’s good news. I know a couple people on Dyke rd, did their houses and barns survive?

Here in Nashville with our friends that have a home on Dyke Rd and it was a wild couple of hours as they were getting updates from their neighbors regarding the fire. Good to hear everyone is safe..property can be replaced. They had gotten a picture that looked it was taken from Fenders across to their house with the flames that were higher than the house and black smoke.

Spoke with a buddy who was on scene till just before 10pm before he was released, said no structure on the AZ side. He was on a water tender, he’s wild land certified but hasn’t been on but a few smaller fires but said just watching some of the action from those guys and their shovels etc had him in awe even tho he’s been Bullhead Fire for 6 years now.
Said it was a sad sight as it went through some farm land and there were animals running away in all directions but even that they believed to have no losses as of last night.
