I always liked these purpose built vehicles, the Tornado Intercept Vehicle (TIV). I miss the show Storm Chasers, fun to watch.

...Not the actual car from “Star 80”...The Dorothy StrattonStory...( The Playboy centerfold who was murdered by her husband)...but a similar Car...
...We were sweating finding a Rolls for the film...I think it was supposed to be Peter Brogdonovich’s car...Finally found one at a dealer on Long Beach Blvd...Rented it for three weeks...Can’t remember what we paid per day...but the car ended being used for maybe a total of 2 hours...bottom line is somebody at the dealership ended up pocketing a whole bunch of $$$$...

As a teenager I always wanted a Charger like the one from Dirty Mary & Crazy Larry right up to the end.

I actually owned a red and white '57 Fury "Christine", it looked just like the movie car. I bought it as a joke in 1972 from a broke school teacher for $125. I figured it would be a good summertime beater car.

The car had a Juarez tuck and roll interior, chrome wheels, and to my surprise, a 392 hemi with a push-button Torqueflite. The 1957 model was the debut year for the 392. At some point in its past, a 4.11 diff gear had been installed.

Although it weighed as much as a cabover Freightliner, it was pretty quick off the line. I embarrassed a few guys while engaging in stoplight drags.

I sold it for $100 a few months after buying it. Back in those days, you could buy a car or pickup cheap, do a good tuneup on it, and have something fun to roll around.

Black Death III - Great history on that bike! Built by Bartels in Marina Del Rey. There were 3 original bikes used for the movie. Mickey Rourke and the H.A. Chuck Zito (out of NY) supposedly have 2 of them and the other is owned privately in the L.A. area. Bartels actually made a few more copies that they sold in the late 90's. I was at the store and one was on display. They wanted 25k for it at the time. I wanted it so bad but couldn't justify that kind of cash for a copy. The original was an FXR converted to a rigid. I had my first custom bike built as a quasi copy of the BD3. A lot of fun to ride. Got a copy cat jacket that Rouke wore hanging in my garage :D

It was! Good eye. It was one of the first the company built. If you notice the stretch is open instead of solid, different rear fender, lic holder, clean dash...bunch of other little stuff. I actually waited for it to be built and got to give input. I really wanted to do a BD3 but didn't want to cannibalize an FXR and I wanted a bigger motor anyway S&S 96" was big at the time

View attachment 669621 1971, in a movie theater with Cool Change

during this scene CC yells
"You meet the nicest people on a Honda"
That seen was SO hot!!

The directors' commentary on the DVD, he tells that the actress really was nude for the shots. It was warm outside and the bike was in the sun for some time, when she sat on the seat she burned her vagina. So bad that it blistered and the medic had to lance the blisters, but she kept riding to finish the scenes.

Kinda ruins the scene... Sorry .. LOL...

Ya, I didn't need to hear that :)
I was probably 12 or 13 when that movie came out and was probably the most nude scene that I had seen in a movie. My friends and I would just stay in the theatre and watch it over and over.

Well, it sounds better to say, "Break a leg" instead of, "Blister that vagina". The show must go on!

...All true...(but think it was built in Newport after the Emory family had bailed out of the Valley and set up camp at Chuck Iverson Porsche in Newport) Gary is a good friend of mine...Although not as much a hands on guy as his dad...his brother Don or his son Rod...Gary is and has been very much a huge part of the visionary process of all things Emory...And for some reason or other doesn’t give himself enough credit???...Dunno???...
Yeah Willie had the pleasure of working for Neil and Don (sanding cars) at Chuck Andersons as we used to call it I plan on crashing in on Gary in Ore in a few weeks unless he is in Monterey with his well heeled clients. Sorry I am replying late I was in Havasu Springs last week....

...You know...Gary accidentally butt dialed me about a week ago...and gave me his itinerary up until September when he will be back in So Cal...But due to extreme old age I can’t remember what he said...
...I think he said he was going to Monterey...but don’t quote me on that...If you do crash in on their 50 acre compound try and snap a couple of pics of the unrestored Baja...If it’s even there???...Garys oldest daughter owns the car now...I think her name is Rene...but then I could be wrong about her name too???...lol...
...I’ve done my share of sanding myself...not cars... but yachts...can’t beat a good sheet of 220 trimite for yacht work anyway...
...I love it.. “Chuck Anderson”...
