Was in Steamboat when this hit. Never have I seen 100 boats exiting one place at once 🤣.

Boat was capsized at Windsor North ramp when we got there. Cops were already there dealing with another boat issue.had to be 60 boats waiting at both ramps..

We got the PWC ramp with a few other folks and were off the water in 10mins.

Got to the house and we had a trash can blown over. Boat is all dirty from the runoff water on the roads.

Central havasu. We have no power. No estimated restoration time. Lots of fire trucks heading up and down the street.

Firing up the generator to power the garage A/C. Looks like we will be sleeping in the garage tonight.

Certainly one of the gnarliest storms we have seen as far as wind. Barely made it back to riviera, got into the marina and the water wasn’t any better in there.

Neighbors said lots of boats crashing into another in the channel trying to get out.

That was the worst storm I’ve ever seen here in Fort Mohave, lost power about 6:10 just came back on. Most things survived well except 100’ of block wall 😖

Unfortunately or fortunately for you there was no internal support within that wall. Just stacked block...
Rebar and top fill is your friend.

Insurance claim I would imagine and hope it goes in your favor.

We left the gorge just in time…as we headed south we saw it spitting up sand over the mountains and moving over the city. Beelined for the channel parked put bimini away and 5 minutes later hell broke loose….the amount of business in stitches is about to receive o man….biminis were blasted everywhere ripped to shreds some completely bent with the bars bent to hell….rode it out stayed till dark for another epic evening on the lake!!!

I always scratch my head when I see videos like the first one. Those guys with the party cat are working like hell to hold that thing in place, with a big tub like that why not idle out into Thompson bay and ride it out. These hard hitting storms blow out quick. Our house is up on blackhill and we had about 20 minutes of nastiness then it pushed on through

Why are people obsessed with racing back the launch ramp into a open bay when these things hit versus find a cove or stay put and ride it out? Makes perfect sense to head to a spot where 100 boats will be in a very small area, aka a cluster fuck.

I don't get it, by the time your trailer makes it in the water the storm will have already blown through

I got caught one time on the way back from Stramboat. Ducked into the cove right before contact point. Anchored the boat 50’ off shore. Ran a stern line to a tree on shore to keep her bow out and the boat handled it like a champ. 21’ Carrera

We all huddled under a bush. The wind and rain was of biblical proportions. Crazy shit. Ill never forget

Boat was towed in right after medics cleared the ramp area to make way for a 4 year old drowning victim that was being brought in.

Sad. Wife told me about it. Read the 4 year old only had arm floats on when boat sunk or flipped. Regardless…real tragedy

Most folks don't have any sort of plan when the shit hits the fan. They panic and either do nothing or try something and make things worse. How many boaters on Havasu have any experience operating a boat in these kind of conditions? My guess would be very few. How many folks put on their life vests as they tried to make it back to a launch ramp? Have a plan, staying put is not a bad idea, the boat can be repaired from any damaged caused by bouncing on the beach.

We were up in Laughlin, all the casinos power went out, had to go on partial power with generators. Could not leave til they hand paid everyone who was playing in the entire casino. Power went out around 610pm and did not come back in our area of Mohave V til around 515am.

Well said…At least put on a life vest.

I got off the water at 4:30 because I had to drive home last night, it looked like a storm was coming in when we pulled into Thompson Bay. It's always in the back of my mind as what would be my plan if caught in a Monsoon. I was at 3 dunes in the afternoon, no way would I try to make it back with those winds. Steamboat cove would be a good hideout to ride it out, surprises me more peeps didn't stay put. It must of been a total shitshow at windsor. I've had some fun times staying put, pop a CL and see mother nature kick some ass. Hopefully everyone made it back safe.
