Most folks don't have any sort of plan when the shit hits the fan. They panic and either do nothing or try something and make things worse. How many boaters on Havasu have any experience operating a boat in these kind of conditions? My guess would be very few. How many folks put on their life vests as they tried to make it back to a launch ramp? Have a plan, staying put is not a bad idea, the boat can be repaired from any damaged caused by bouncing on the beach.

Well I’ve been cleaning up broken glass and debris since 6 o’clock this morning, every time I turn around I find more broken glass. Shit blew everywhere, I’m gonna take your advice it’s hot and I’m going swimming no matter what.

Many years ago, via the National Hurricane Center web site and while at sea, I watched a hurricane and it’s remnants track up the Colorado River Valley. I was out in the middle of the Pacific. It was absolutely no problem for us. But, very interesting to watch the progress.

Jack Smith was a mess last night. Rode the SIL's superjet down there to pull it out as the second wave happened to hit. I don't know how may people get boats on trailers in the wind but it was a lot. It was crazy stuff.

I saw a fair amount of damage to property this morning (damage to tile roofs, awnings/patio covers gone, palapas ripped out). Our place made it through without any major issues, but everything that was not bolted down blew across the yard.

My family has a house in bullhead and the high tension power pole and lines snapped like tooth picks. The lines landed on top of his house.

We were north of the power lines at Lake Mohave when it hit that area. We had been posted up in a cove on the east side of the lake and didn't see it until the clouds were almost on top of us. My buddy had left a few minutes earlier to go pick up another friend at Katrine's in his 22' deck. We left but as soon as we came out of the cove we saw the storm so stayed back and waited it out. I started to head towards Kathrine's but saw the 22 headed back LOL! Rode it out in a cove then ran back and beached outside the marina and waited for everyone else to get off the water.
Took us 90 minutes to get through Bullhead yesterday when we came home. Downed power lines everywhere.

So often the prudent thing to do is wait out the storms in a Cove. Trying to race back to a launch ramp that is one big cluster F, in a passing storm, is usually crazy. Heck, they can be a CF without a storm.
