I got some extended runs on mine today. It ran great with no issues.... Which is a relief considering this was a bare hull 3 months ago. Probably going to have to go through it tomorrow and make sure nothing came loose.

I always forget how fun these things are to drive. Today was a lot of fun.

Does anyone know if a 4 stroke outboard (209lbs) would be too heavy for a 10' Schaida?
I know people who put the Tohatsu on theirs and they said its awesome. It's only 5 or 10 pounds heavier than some of the 3 cylinder 40 hp outboards from what I was told. That may be my option if the Yamaha lets go.

I've been wondering what comes on the new ones Schiada is making? There was a FB post yesterday that are few are in process (like the one posted earlier).

They’ve used the Forumla 60 on the double throw down 12 footers. Full cav plates etc.

There’s an article on here of one Schiada did. Gotta be 10 years old now.

Yeah... but I was referring to the new ones they are currently making. 2 stroke outboards are hard to come by and I cant imagine someone wanting an older outboard on one of the new boats.

The older Tohatsu 40hp 3cyl 15" shaft motors we used on 10'ers was around 160lbs. I think the newer 4 strokes that weigh 210 are gonna be too heavy. The newer boats are getting the 4 stroke 25hp motors on them from what i've seen.

as long as were going for some new styling howbout some twins? 2stroke, 36hp, at just about 200lbs for the pair. Ya some modifying would have to be done for controls but cant imagine it would be terrible.

That would be on the heavier side but if you rig it with everything in the bow it’s doable.. my first one had a little more than that in weight when you added it all up with the jackplate and power trim.. let alone six inches of mechanical advantage because of the setback etc

I remember my first one and for some reason I thought it weighed 125-130 lbs?

I believe you’re right! This Nissan NS40C 2 cylinder is same as tohatsu M40C and it weighs 130Lbs. The 2 cylinder M30A Tohatsu I believe weighs 114Lbs.

The M40C 2 cylinder weighs around 130. I thought the 3 cylinder weighed 160. I could be wrong about the 3 cylinder though
