I’m in the Midwest for the next week. Working on the boys 2019 YZ85.

Been running fine, before race last Saturday morning sometimes it would get compression, others it wouldn’t. Rebuild kit showed up the day before the race and we had planned to rebuild it this week anyway. I got it going, he came up 3 laps short.

Tore the entire bike down last night. New plastics kit, sticker kit, Jet and needle showed up this week. Currently installing sticker kit.

Frame is at sand blaster now. Should be done in morning, and I’ll run it to powder coat guy. Going to powder coat the the clutch cover in magnesium to match the cover we ordered for the other side, and the foot pegs as well. Frame is going to be Lollypop Blue

Going to run a mixture of 50% 110 Sunoco/93 Non Ethanol. Should wake up and already pretty damn fast bike.

He came out of the hole in next to last, passed 5 in 2.5 laps and was passing another when it went.

Got him a new chest/neck protector a couple weeks ago as well.

My dad has a huge car hauler trailer. He wants 10k for it. Told me he’d sell it to me cheaper. I’m going to ask what I can get it for. If I can work it out with him I’m going to put a clear plexi glass remove wall in the nose for a hangout area with heat/ac and the back for bike stuff. Give us a cheap place to stay at races.

Going to see if work will throw me a couple checks to sponsor him.

Maybe RDP wants to add a couple stickers to the bike!

And Sissy has gotten big into horses. We cut a deal on a new one last weekend. Pick it up on July 6th. Check out the bloodlines in the paper work. Pretty awesome in my opinion. And yes the horse is fast. Easily has left others in the dust just playing around when we went down and rode her. People like her so much the offered for her to come down and stay the weekend anytime to go riding with them. This horse can trot to 17 seconds barrel times which will place if not win most of the categories she runs in. She is are leading her division by enough points were she could bail the remaining races and not be caught. Not bad for her first year IMO. Can’t wait to see what happens when she gets opened up. I won’t let her race this new horse until next season. Next year after she gets some saddle time with her it’s game on. The horse is huge. Her back comes up to my forehead. I’m 5’10” so nothing to write home about related to my height, but our other horses backs or only around chest high on me.

She had her mind set on another horse because they wouldn’t budge on price with this one. She was going to buy another one last weekend that she had enough money to buy. I wouldn’t let her. Didn’t want this one to get away. So after a 15 minute crying session telling me I was wrong, they wouldn’t budge I got her to have them call my wife or myself. They called my wife and had a 20 minute discussion. They didn’t come off the price so Sissy was ready to go get that other horse. I still wouldn’t let her. Told her to give it a couple days as I felt they would change their minds. They called 20 minutes later and agreed to a lower price. She was thrilled, but I told her we weren’t paying the difference, one of the other horses had to sell first. It sold Wednesday, and she’s still about $500 short but we are going to cover that. She has leased her current barrel for a year but the party leasing it can’t come get her until the season ends. She can pay us back the other $500 when that happens. After she runs her for 3 or 4 years we plan to breed her. Should be all to sell the offspring for a very large chunk of change.

I’m surprised there is that kind of money to be made in horses. I think I’m going to look for a 30 acre property and get into the business.

IMG_3879.jpg

IMG_3923.jpg

We’d like to have the brown horse in the back as well. It’s as close to as tall as the one we are getting and has similar blood lines with 2 years of growth left, but they aren’t willing to part with that horse yet.

IMG_3919.jpg

Also, my brother’s new lab failed her training course. He probably had 5k tied up in her. He’s getting a new dog and I’m taking this one home so my lab has a play partner. He won’t let me give him a dime for her. Just wants her to go to a good home. She tried to leave with me last night when I stopped by for a visit.

Nice work on the bike project!

Those horses are built for speed, the long canon bones give it away, for sure from the thoroughbred side. Equally impressive is the Cash grandsire. Before your daughter corrects you (because mine have), it's not a brown horse it's a bay.o_O

Cool pics and thanks for sharing

Are you doing any head work(dome configuration) or compression increase for the 50-50 fuel mixture?

It's not going to hurt it at all, but with out a compression increase for the fuel it will actually lose power. But it will smell bitchin..lol love the smell of race gas!

I’ll get some lap times. If it slows him down I’ll put a different sprocket on it to make up the difference. He’s not close to using the top end on any of these tracks.

I’ll run it through this next cycle like this and if changes are warranted I’ll try something different next rebuild.

Next year we hope to open it up and turn it into a super mini.

There is not a lot of info out there yet on the 19 YZ85 with the powervalve. If you find any info hit me up. Most are running completely stock. He has a full pipe we are going to throw on it as well.

It's too dark to risk navigating my little channel. Granted, the only bad thing that'd happen is I'd fill my new engine with silt.....

Rather tie up at a known safe spot for the evening....

Called a buddy and let him know my plans. (Float plan.... Google it...)

Let someone know what you're doing, where you're going and when you plan on returning.....

It's a 20 second phone call or a text to a bury a body buddy..

Do it. It may help the search party in finding your remains...

I'm all over having a good time, fuck.... an ABSOLUTELY EPIC time....

Just let someone else know what the plan is.....

I'm riding solo. Poptart and RDP are the only folks that know where I've been.

Hydroskreamin knows where I'll be @0530 tomorrow. If he doesnt get that text, flags go up...

Hear what I'm sayin?

Goodnight folks. :)

Guy said to run the bike at 32:1. Started to break it done this afternoon and the plug indicted it was a little rich. Going to move to 40:1 for the next batch and see what I end up with.

No markings in cylinder, but will measure it just in case and run a hone over it a few times.

Powercoat guy said he may have it down tomorrow, Tuesday at the latest. I’m hoping for tomorrow. Wheels up at 6am for Houston and hopefully back down from Houston by 4pm. He’s close to the airport and would save me some time.

Chilling at my dads place in North Barrington, IL for a week.
Afternoon storm delayed the movie we took my daughter to, but when we got out had to clear downed tree branches to get back into the house.
Daily storms are due all week.

She’s moving a pretty good clip, that 400r can spin up to 7k right?
Yea. Gotta get the slip #'s down. Smaller pitch, more rpm=higher top end.

Was really surprised at how well the 26 maximus did. Felt really hooked up.

Weird shit goin on with the max 5. Ass end went a little sideways on me 2x's...
Not a lot, but enough to know when to back out of it.

Not a comforting feeling for sure. Getting it dialed for sure!

That thought has crossed my mind. Family was going to head down to Hammond the 3-5, if that occurred I was going north. But that trip got cancelled, my step great-grandma is coming to us for her 95th birthday. So I am sticking around for that.

Something with a little more cup but less diameter maybe?

You testing props from Bblades or other Hula sources??

Either way man it’s gotta be a blast, and satisfying to see the labors paying off.

Dads place is in Wynstone. With all the corporations leaving IL, parents are stuck with the house, no one is purchasing a 9k sq ft house in a golf course community anymore around here.

More info needed on the shootout. ;) I always dig what shows up if they have a few classes.
I've wanted to get up there to spectate for the last few years. Always have a schedule conflict. The pics on facedork show quite a bit ov hardware showing up every year.

I should schedule it for next year and do media coverage for RDP...

Going from 32:1 to 40:1 you might have to put one size smaller main jet in it.

Working on leveling my lift. After a failed attempt at using a trash pump, and on some advice from a buddy (the guy who set it in for me) I'm using a pressure washer to flush the mud away from the high side. Found a few stones that are holding it up, but making progress.

As I sit here, it’s raining yet again. So what does an overworked, underachieving farmer do when he’s unable to do anything in the field? Fire up the ole smoker of course.

Earlier in the week I dug a whole brisket outta da deep freeze (no you Southwest sunscalded fools I’m not talking outta the snowbanks either- we haven’t had snowbanks around here for at least a week) LOL. Did a little butchering and trimming and separated the point from the flat. I injected some seasoned beef broth last night, added a light rub, and rested in the fridge overnight.

Fired up the smoker this morning. Here’s the finished flat.

All sliced up.
AF0E0D93-3B0B-4C99-8AF9-0C4573B534C3.jpeg

And I cubed the point after it was done smoking and made burnt ends out of them. Barely got a pic of them before the fam ate them all.
